Excellente!!! Food is superb. Will be back on January 2020.
Staff made sure our meal was a great experience. Food was amazing and drinks on point. We will definitely be back!
Everything was great! There was a little construction near by that was a little noisy.
Would not recommend at this time. While I like a quiet restaurant, it was too quiet and nearly empty. I expected more of a crowd and while I realize this is not the responsibility of the restaurant, I will have to come back at a busier time before recommending it. The food was very good and reasonably priced. However the waiter seemed a little spacey. He highly recommended the brunch menu and when he came back to take our order, we tried to order migas and he said they didn't have it. A little bit frustrating and we still couldn't get a good explanation as to why they couldn't make the migas. In addition one of the glasses on the table had a lipstick stain.
My fiancé and I had an amazing brunch experience. We love trying new food and they did not disappoint. We had the Linsey mac’n’cheese, stuffed French toast, empanadas, and beef cheeks and potato stack. This is a great cheat day and date spot!
Really bad service. My service was a Spanish lady. She refuse to do something for my wife birthday. Not even a candle. And she said “ we don’t do birthday stuff in here “.
The food here is amazing! I've gotten a little bigger portion sizes at other tapas restaurants but the quality of the food is really great. They really need to work on their service though, a bit slow and not very attentive staff. Other than that I enjoyed the place.
Excellent experience all around. Great location, live music, fabulous food and ambience. Recommend!
It was great!
Went for my brothers birthday and it was amazing great food, great live music, and great service.
Great place to eat and hang with a large group of friends.
Batanga is always a favorite date night for us. The style decor is amazing and the environment is wonderful. We were seated immediately and our waiter was friendly and informative. We both ordered yummy drinks and enjoyed our tapas. Everything was presented beautifully and the ambiance was perfect. If you’re looking for a chill, intimate environment to enjoy a date night, this place is perfect.
Excellent portion sizes for tapas. Drinks were very well made. A little loud for my liking with the way the live music stage is designed inside. Otherwise, great dinner!
The only problem was that I made reservations for 8pm and arrived on time but we were not seated until 8:20. Other than that everything was great. Margo our waitress was awesome and the food and drinks were also great. Music was fun and we danced until they stopped playing.
Excellent food served by an excellent wait staff. The pineapple mojito was terrific.
Great food and wine selection. Fantastic atmosphere and friendly staff.
Yes, I would recommend to a friend. The only problem was the waiter that was assigned to our table. He was not attentive, we did not see or hear from him but once the time we were there. He never asked if we needed anything. He was horrible! We ordered dessert that we never received. We paid our bill(which we received from another staff) and left before we actually wanted to. We actually had another staff member assist us the evening. Besides that we had a great time.
Very friendly waitstaff and a very comfortable and relaxing vibe. Patio is next to busy street but still quiet enough to have a good conversation. The drinks were very good. We just had patatas but they were delicious.
Service was horrible. Celebrating my husbands 40th and it took 30minutes to get our drinks every time we ordered new ones..and towards the end our server came up and said hey I have a bus to catch can you’ll pay your bill so that I can catch it.. wth?! We were definitely not ready to leave but afterwards that set a bad taste in our mouth. The food was good.
This was our first time to visit Batanga. Our waiter not only provided excellent service, but was quite helpful in guiding us through the menu. The food came out quickly and was very good.
Took awhile to accommodate seating ,even with a timely reservation, food ordered, kept getting canceled because waiter didn't know they were sold out in the kitchen.
The hostesses were a bit slow in figuring out tables and tending to new customers. However our waiter Eric was nice, and the food is good. They have happy hour items from 5 to 7 pm Monday through Friday. Overall, it was a good experience.
In the past, my husband and I have gone here for Happy Hour prior to a theater show at 8 p.m. and had pleasant experiences. Wouldn't it figure when we invited two other couples to join us that the service would be awful? Drink orders took forever - we could see them sitting at the bar and were tempted to get them ourselves as our waiter disappeared - and when they did arrive at the table drinks were delivered wrong twice. The same happened with our food orders as we sat for at least 20 minutes before our waiter reappeared. Once the order went in, the food - which was good - came out very quickly, but not all of what we ordered came. Our friends were understanding, but I was embarrassed by the experience and will most likely not return. There are plenty of places in Houston with great food and exceptional service. Unfortunately Batanga is no longer on our list.
Fantastic 😀 great live music on Friday night!
Got several small plates to share. The server was helpful with recommendations on how much to get. Really appreciated that the plates came out 1-2 at a time rather than all together. Everything we got was delicious. We were there at 8pm on a Saturday. The band was deafening, which is my only complaint of our experience here.
Delicious tapa place, excellent service, reasonable prices, solid happy hour, delicious food
I have been having ladies brunch for about 3 years now and we try to go to different places in Houston! This is by far top 5! Great food, drinks, music and our waiter was great as well. Only thing that disappointed me was they were out of the Bacon Wrapped Dates. I was looking for to for a month, ever since I decided on this place! Other than that very recommended!!!
We had to wait extremely long for our food and it was just mediocre.
Batanga was an awesome find. The food was great and staff was fabulous! A definite return in the future.
Had a very good time here. Took someone on a date and service was great. The food was really good, the portion amounts were perfect. And choosing to dine in the patio was a good idea as there was not much noise besides pedestrians and traffic but not too loud. Would definitely come back again.
Our order was messed up when we ordered a few tapas. However, they were incredibly polite and quick to amend the issue. They covered part of our meal and apologized, even though it was a very minor inconvenience. All of the food was fantastic and not terribly crowded, even on a Saturday night. I will definitely come back to Batanga.
Great atmosphere and food, wish they were a bit more flexible with their tables but great experience overall.
We had a variety of plates. I know this is a tapas place, but felt the servings were too small for the price. However, the calamari was the best I've ever had and I've eaten it in many places including upscale restaurants.
The calamari was great, the lobster bisque was delectable, but my husband's burrito was meh.
There was a DJ with a drummer playing bongos, but the drummer off beat and didn't mesh with the melody of the music playing.
Food was VERY good. Service was not so great but I will come back for the food!!!!!
Enjoyed the patio, good food, nice break from the usual.
Waitress took a long time to come to our table although we caught her at times she was NOT at someone else’s table/serving others. People at my table paid for their own meals. Not everyone left a tip, so another waitress had the audacity to follow everyone at my table outside and question why she wasn’t tipped more. That’s unprofessional. It’s like begging. As far as I’m concerned, no one HAS to tip servers whether that’s their only income or not. You either get a tip or you don’t. Don’t have someone else follow people outside to ask why.
The food was good. The music volume level was over the top loud. I had to yell just to carry a conversation at my table of friends.
Food was okay. Not impressive.
I would recommend Batanga for their food, but the service wasn't great. The server didn't come back to the refill our drinks or ask us how everything was going. I knew the paella would take 40-45 minutes, but I ended up waiting for an hour and 20 minutes. I was basically full by the time the paella came because my friends shared their appetizer, meal, and dessertwith me. Yes, they got their whole 3 course meal before I got anything. On top of that my mango mojito was not a mango mojito. It was a traditional one. I let it slide though which I probably shouldn't have done. When the paella finally came out, I had one small plate and packed the rest. Some of the sausages were burnt but overall it was pretty tasty. Unfortunately, I would say that my experience was not a good one. I am upset I did not get compensated for waiting so long for my meal. Sad to rate this place so low since I was excited about getting a paella.
