Bata is a restaurant designed to celebrate the best our region has to offer. We cook over a live oak fire, on our custom fabricated hearth. Our menu changes daily. We mill AZ grown grain in house, daily. We focus on whole animal butchery, done in house. We have an extensive fermentation program. Our bar program largely focuses on wines that are organic, biodynamic, and produced with minimal intervention. The cocktail list highlights the best products of the season, with a carefully curated list of spirits from across the globe. We believe that our hospitality is just as important as the food and beverages we put on the table.

We do not encourage our restaurant for young children. We do not have any highchairs in house and ask that you please bring your own if it is required.

Over the summer, we will be hosting a communal Supper Club every Thursday showcasing a prix fixe menu consisting of a starter, an entree, and dessert for each guest. Bottles of wine that we find pairs best with the menu will be offered for $50/bottle, along with our usual beverage menu. Dinner will begin at 6:30, but everyone is more than welcome to come earlier to snag some seats, grab some drinks at the bar, and mingle while you wait. The goal is to bring the Tucson community together, bond over dinner, and beat the summer heat! If you have any questions or any troubles with booking, please email brooke@batatucson.com *Pricing excludes tax and gratuity. *A vegetarian alternative will be available. All other substitutions are politely declined.

Family dinner for birthday celebration. Our waiter, Miguel, was an excellent guide. Found ourselves enjoying an eclectic blend of interesting flavor combinations. Especially enjoyed the tune crude and Labne.

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary at the bar and had a wonderful experience. We did the chef’s tasting menu and each course was delicious!

AN our server was a delight. He was knowledgable about the food, very attentive, without being annoying he had a great personality. . The food was wonderful. Not your typical dining. We chose the chefs choice. The chef curated a unique menu but not outrageous . Each ingredient shined. Each dish was excellent! We will definitely return ! .

Disclaimer: we LOVE Bata! Have visited many times. They do amazing flavors and textures with all kinds of vegetables and proteins and things we've never heard of. We look forward to our next visit and any more. That said...this time there were a few things that were slightly off - still tasty but not up to Bata's usual level of perfection. The malawach is always great but this time it was a little thick and greasy. We also ordered the fish and although the sauce was excellent, the fish itself was overcooked and a bit dry. You had to like mushrooms -- maybe love mushrooms? - because they were in many of the dishes. The wine list has gotten more...accessible? I enjoyed my French chardonnay. Thank you Bata for bringing a wonderful culinary experience to downtown Tucson! See you again in July.

Bata certainly has its heart in the right place and we tried maybe 7 dishes last night. I must say all were interesting and an enjoyable blend of flavors. My only disappointment was the Chilean seabass which @ $42 was very minimal in portion but even more so the exterior was very dry as were the greens served with it. It appeared to be served "blackened" but they missed the mark on this. The flattened bread was great and the peach/ squash salad a delight. The ahi crudités were well presented and all the other samples were flavorful. Drinks were creative and the atmosphere was vibrant and busy. We will be back - be prepared to spend some money.

I made a reservatiopn weeks ahead and the person hostess wanted to seat up at a duece between 2 other people when there were dueces by the window available. Our server was awesome, the person that delivered the food was cool too telling us what was what.

Really delicious, creative. Unique fine dining. Everything was elegant, service was great, memorable dishes. Our favorite was the mushroom dish but honestly we gobbled up everything. Yummy cocktails too. Highly recommend for a special meal.

Brooke arranged the most lovely experience for us! Having a private room for our 29th wedding anniversary was perfect! And Roxanna is absolutely the most lovely server. The best food in Tucson with service to match!
