The restaurant at the Bastione is a dream come true, on the shores of Lake Garda, a small jewel of Trentino – Alto Adige, which in all respects is a point of reference for the city of Riva del Garda. A versatile place that ranges from breakfast to after-dinner, with a cuisine that is attentive to the Trentino area and the Mediterranean tradition.
The restaurant is located next to a Venetian keep, dating back to the early 1500s on an area previously undeveloped, with the aim of defensive bulwark to protect the city.
In the 1950s a single-seater chairlift was created, which led directly from the town to the side of the Bastion. It was then decommissioned in the early 1980s.
Today, the new alternative mobility proposal, i.e. the inclined lift, will guarantee accessibility in about 3 minutes of travel, with a panoramic view of the Upper Garda area, important for the tourist context of the area and the whole Garda community .

    Ci siamo trovati benissimo! (Nonostante il guasto all'ascensore, abbiamo percorso il sentiero che porta direttamente al Bastione!)

    Neither the website or open table says that they are closed on Tuesdays. Arrived for my booking to find a shut restaurant

    The menus was very limited! Starters read beautiful but that’s all. The people in the table beside us agreed. The mains we had were ok but my lamb was tiny. however my friend had only started when we were informed that the last funicular was leaving in 10 mins at approx 9.30. They were aware of the problem before serving our food as another group got free shots as the funicular stalled halfway down. It was too dark to walk down so we had no option but to leave the food. We had to pay full price!!! No allowances made at all. Overall very disappointing experience. Would only recommend it for the view and a glass of wine. Sorry

    Das Essen war sehr lecker, qualitativ auch top. Das Personal freundlich, zuvorkommend und flexibel bei Wünschen die unsere kleine Tochter anbelangten. Ambiente, Sauberkeit und Kulisse sehr zufriedenstellend. Wir würden jederzeit wieder dort speisen und können dieses Restaurant uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen.
