Bastion is the 24-seat restaurant of James Beard Foundation Award Nominee Chef Josh Habiger. It is located in a separate area within the casual cocktail bar of the same name, and it is a part of the Wedgewood Houston neighborhood of Nashville, TN. Bastion's dining room features counter seating around the kitchen for parties of 2 as well as three tables for parties of 3 to 6. Bastion's small team serves a weekly set menu of six dinner courses featuring many dishes with a wide variety of flavors, ingredients, and inspirations. Friendly service guides you through the culinary experience, which also features wine pairings, creative cocktails, and a curated vinyl soundtrack. Come early or stay late in the hidden Little Bar, which is a private offering for guests of the restaurant.

    What a fantastic dining experience! From the moment we walked in until walking out a few hours later, we had an amazing night! The bar specific for dining guests is just the start. This is a very intimate setting. We sat at the ‘bar’ style seating where we were able to watch and interact with the chefs. The tasting menu was extensive, creative and delicious. Some of our highlights were the chicken skin and caviar, the lamb tartare with incredible umami flavors and textures, the short rib tortellini (my husband wanted more) and the tri tip with the most delectable white asparagus sauce like velvet. The cocktails were expertly crafted and they had non alcoholic versions for me as well. Price point was ridiculously cheap for the quality. I can not recommend this place enough.

    We came in as first time diners to celebrate my husband's recent achievements and we couldn't have been happier! A few items on the menu neither of us had ever tried, but being able to watch the chefs prepare the food in front of you, and then give you backstory and recommendations for how to enjoy each course was an amazing experience. There was no fear to try some of the raw dishes and in fact the dishes we would have otherwise avoided ended up being the most delicious. It was temping to ask for seconds each time! Bastion has gained return customers for SURE!

    An amazing and special experience. We got to sit at the bar and got to chat with the chef who was stationed in front of us. We are visiting for our anniversary and they gave us a bunch of recommendations for restaurants and bars to visit.

    A wonderful experience! The chefs were fantastic and each tasting a sensory delight. Each person we encountered, chefs, servers, sommelier, bartender were on point and made for a perfect evening.

    Bastion continues to be one of the best experiences in Nashville if not the best. Josh and his team are absolutely incredible professionals. From the moment you enter the small bar before dinner you are greeted warmly like you are a dinner guest at their home. Food to match and while it is probably the most difficult reservation to secure in Nashville, it is certainly worth the effort. The wine pairings were spot on and Eric does a great job of pairing the perfect compliment to each food course.
