Visited Bastille with a small group of friends. We arrived a few minutes late to our reservation and were welcomed warmly. We sat down, ordered drinks (The Governor was the crowd favorite). We were given plenty of time to catch up and decided to order a bunch of small plates from the menu. Our waiter, Paul, was fantastic. He made suggestions on how the food should be brought out. He also had a sense of humor and a great attitude. We had a variety of dishes - escargot, mussels, steak tartare, and then mushroom flatbread and beet salad that were divine. Paul blessed us with the most amazing dessert that really perfected our evening.
Bonus - we heard loud music toward the end of dinner. There is a lounge downstairs where we decided to stop for one more drink. We ended up staying and completing girls night with a little dancing.
First time diners at this spot, enjoyed the food and ambiance on a Saturday evening. Our waiter, Paul, was excellent, making food and wine suggestions that everyone utilized. Very good experience overall.
Gorgeous space combining industrial and French country feel. The bar is spacious; bartenders are always non-pretentious and friendly. Excellent service, excellent food. Our waiter was very knowledgeable about the wine selection.
Excellent experience ... wonderful server too
The interior of this restaurant is beautiful, so I was excited to see if everything else would be as good . Sadly not , we had to reorder the martini as it was made wrong . That took a while to fix. The shrimp were pretty small compared to other restaurants in the seaport area .
The flavors of our meals were very bland , the sole and the chicken . The Mange tout were inedible .
Sadly we found the whole experience disappointing .
A great experience, as always . . . Thank you to our server Paul for making our experience delightful in tasting new wines, new cuisine, and all without any effort on our part.
Excellent location at Fort Point with good ambiance and great food. The seafood platter of raw bar items is great.
The Branzino fish is excellent, so it the steak frites and the steak wellington
Our server Paul was amazing. Best meal and experience!
Staff treated us great. They were just the right amount of there. Our table was a few minutes late leaving but not a problem. We grabbed a drink, they came and got us and made it easy.
I went there with friends for Easter. We had a party of 6. The staff could not have been better; service was excellent and the food was great. The manager came over to check on us.
I highly recommend Bastille. I know they have won me over. Glad to have them in the neighbor hood.
Easter Sunday overall the brunch was ok. Food was all good could have been a larger portion on the omlet looked like a single egg omlet, it did taste good. We did have a long wait for our food as well. Not sure I would go back on another Easter Sunday.
Met three friends and we all thoroughly enjoyed the staff and food at The Bastille Kitchen - a great find!
We had never been or heard of this restaurant and always try to go somewhere new during Dine Out Boston. Bastille Kitchen was a nice take. Our friends were waiting for us with flowers and a card as it was our anniversary, in the waiting area which was roomy and comfortable. We were seated when we were ready. Wall selected the RW menu. The onion soup gratinee was awfully good. Great rich flavorful broth and nice stringy melty gruyere. Two of had the steak frites and two of us had the Green Circle chicken. All entrees were delicious and steaks were cooked perfectly. My partner could not finish all the dinner and took the creme brulee home and they gave it to us IN THE CONTAINER which was quite a surprise. The chocolate torte was also very good.
The service was, shall I say, a bit off. Our drink order seemed to confuse our waitress. I ordered a Belvedere martini. She was about to bring me a Balvenie scotch martini. Eeek!
The previous plates and glasses were not cleared before our courses were served which gave us no room on the smallish table. Three of us also had the wine accompaniment which produced a lot of glasses as well. My partner was just about finished his entree before HIS glass of wine came. And when our desserts came we once again had to ask for our wines with that course and they brought four glasses although, as I said, only three of us got the wine accompaniment.
All in all, it was a nice evening out with friends. Service has a lot to be desired, but the food was very good and even though I really enjoy good service, it really is all about the food and company!
We were a group of 12 for a business dinner and everyone was very happy with the ambiance, the food and the drinks. I would definitely return not only with company associates but with family & friends. A new favorite for me in Boston.
Wonderful experience here. I had a gift card and I forgot it, but the manager Matt was able to look up the numbers for me and allow us to use it. Overall great service, manager was very helpful, and downstairs in the Chalet room was really fun for after dinner!
Always wonderful ambiance. Professional service. Delicious food and drinks.
Birthday dinner with my love. Kristina was our server and she was fabulous! Very knowledgeable about the menu/wine/cocktails. We mentioned we were travelling to Hawaii soon (she had just returned from her honeymoon there) and she came back to our table with a thoughtfully curated list of 'must sees' for us. Very considerate. During the reservation process I ticked off the box in Open Table saying it was a special occasion and two glasses of champagne were brought to our table not long after we were sat. We also received a lovely chocolate dessert at the end of our meal, compliments of the house. All of that was really considerate and added to the specialness of the night but we'll be going back again soon because the food was just so darn good! Moules frites, duck l'orange, sole meunière....so delicious! The restaurant itself is industrial chic and the bar downstairs has a cool, cozy atmosphere. Valet parking too!
Dinner was great. Paul’s wine pairings were awesome.
Everything was top notch. I couldn’t have been happier
Gorgeous restaurant space with friendly staff and great music selection.
Great food and the staff was excellent
Dine out Boston delicious food and options for everyone. Gluten free vegetarian etc
Too loud with pulsating techno beat. Average food. Average service. This was our 3rd time visiting and thought we would give it another chance and avoiding for over a year. Never again. Just not good. They spent a fortune on the renovation. Should have spent more in the kitchen, raise the level of the food, and lower the level of the techno-beat music. Just not Boston, and it is a shame as Fort Point is very historic area.
A must visit
Great menu and drink/wine list
Service was smooth and caring without being stuffy
Onion soup is the best as well as the Duck L orange
Outstanding dinner in a gorgeous space. Excellent value during Boston restaurant week. One of the best restaurants in Fort Point. Highly recommended!
Great food, loved the music and our waitress was very friendly!
went there for my Bday. The staff was awesome, and our server Anna was one of the best. she was caring and took good care of us. We ordered Moule Frites, Pan Roasted Branzino and lamb chops. Loved Moule Frites and lamb chops. The description said prawn and I didn't know prawn are different fish not shrimps. my ignorance. other than that dish, everything was wonderful. Would go back again.
We had reservations for a Friday night, although I don't think they were needed on this particular evening. We were promptly seated and greeted by our waiter (I'm sorry I don't remember his name, but a very tall man). It was extremely difficult to hear each other where were sitting, but primarily due to a table of five next to us that were very loud. Everything was fine (my husband had the escargot and then the duck and I had the steak au Poivre) until we ordered our second drinks when the food arrived. They weren't delivered until we were almost finished. Without prompting, our waiter apologized and offered us a complimentary desert. He brought us the Citrus Napoleon. We aren't big desert people but this was one of the most delicious deserts I have ever had. Again without prompting, the GM, Matthew Dix came over to our table and apologized again and informed us that he would be taking the last two drinks off of our bill. Overall a nice evening We will definitely return again and probably ask to be moved if placed by another loud group.
Service was impecable. The bar had a nice selection of wine by the glass. I enjoyed the Chalk Hill Chardonay and was quite at ease as I waited for the rest of my party. The dinning room has beautiful large windows and the brick gave the impression of Boston's historical charm. The table was comfortable and I enjoyed the spaciousness of the room. I ordered on recommendation the onion soup and was delighted that it did exceed my expectations. The basket of warm croissants with pate was also served to the table. We ordered flatbreads as well which we shared and allowed us to converse prior to ordering our entrees. The service was never rushed but attentive our waiter helped with a vegetarian request and made another great suggestion. The salmon I ordered was delicious and a healthy portion. Dessert was also delicious and completed a very satisfying dining experience of great French contempary food at a reasonable price.
Well we got there on time and the hostesses were very rude, we got seated 45 minutes past our reservation, drinks took FOREVER and one of them was completely melted by the time that we got it and had to be remade, and to top it all off the food wasn’t good at all and no one seemed to make any sort of apology or even care. Not going back.
Sat at the bar for an hour before our reservation. Enjoyed the wine selection. Dinner was great. Recommend the Tuna Tartare, Steak Frittes and the lamb.
Food quality went down
Very disappointing. We arrived at 6:30 to find music blaring from the adjacent bar that made conversation almost impossible. Our server, Paul, was excellent, my companion's beef wellington was good albeit at an exorbitant price, but my fillet of sole left a lot to be desired. It was our anniversary and the restaurant was extremely nice in providing a complimentary dessert that was the best part of the meal. The meal and the atmosphere were certainly not worth the price, and we will not go back.
Wonderful night out!
Amazing food, wonderful service and a beautiful setting. We were greeted right away by the hostess, explained that our table wasn't quite ready and she would come get us at the bar, which she did. We had the cheese plate, sole and beef wellington. All were amazingly delicious! Our server could not have been more helpful or delightful! He helped us pick a very delicious and affordable bottle of wine. Great night out and will return!
I liked Bastille Kitchen - the food was great, drinks excellent and service very good. But, it felt overpriced. Dinner for 2, that included drinks,(2 cocktails, 2 glasses of wine) the cheese plate and 2 entrees came to $184, including tip. That's too much! A nice restaurant, but not a super special place.
I think this might be better as a place for drinks and appetizers.
I have been multiple times to Bastille and every time I am always satisfied. If something comes out of the kitchen too cooked or too spicy, the wait staff is wonderful and will try to accommodate any requests.
The noise level is good and you can actually have a conversation while eating diner. Great atmosphere and lovely decor. Marie Antoinette portrait on top of the stairs is plus!
Great atmosphere and service. We really enjoyed the burger - it was cooked to perfection and came with truffle fries (delish). The black truffle flatbread with goat cheese and Asiago was also very good (one suggestion, add some arugula to it).
I would definitely return again.
Place is great!
Good！But the food is normal，not very well.
