Food was good. Service was excellent. Noisy place, so not very intimate, but I’d go back.
Went here last year for Valentine's, truly spectacular but this year - more expensive, no wine pairing option, and no food choices! Apparently they wanted to "make portions larger". Service was good but I wish they kept the options they had before! Entree was coq au vin and the sauce was very good but I dont want to pay 95$ for chicken! Also dessert was petit fours but because everything was decided already (fixed price and fixed plates) it left me feeling a little bit of a cruise ship vibe. In short: Last year - grand slam , this year - double. Not sure I will return next Valentine's without some changes to the special.
We had to wait for a table even through we made a reservation for 2, and once seated it took an awkward amount of time to be greeted by our server. Once we were, he was very helpful and attentive, food came out fast and delicious!
Service was good -- friendly, responsive -- and the steak was good. My duck l'orange was properly cooked but was missing the l'orange or similar accoutrements and the dipping sauce was tasteless. I was engrossed in my conversation and didn't raise this with the server. I'm bringing guests there on Saturday so we'll try again.
I have visited this restaurant many times and this was the worst experience. The service was terrible
and it was very noisy with loud music which I do not remember from other times I have been there.
Someillier was fantastic!
Bastille is delicious! Great decor, service and food. Our waiter had some wonderful suggestions. Perfect for a date night or a night out with friends!
My first time here and it was fantastic. Staff very knowledgeable and super friendly. Food was amazing at reasonable prices. Decor and cleanliness was also very good. I cannot wait to go back!
We had a fantastic time! Dinner and drinks were all excellent. Service was phenomenal. Our waiter Paul was world class. He is a waiter in the Parisian style. Very attentive and concerned with our drinks and Dinner. He even provided us with our favorite drink (Absenthe) even though it wasn't on the menu yet! It's coming to the menu soon!!! Thanks for a wonderful Dinner.
Great value - a dozen oysters, steak frites, moules frites, glass of wine and a beer, for about $100. The Oysters were great, the steak fantastic, and the fries crisp. The beer was a bit flat. Really good food - the only two negatives were that it's noisy, but unlike most brasserie the tables are not squashed together. We had a great booth. The other issue is that the bathroom is in the basement, and the restaurant on the 2nd floor, so it's a hike to take a wizz. Great value, fun atmosphere, excellent food.
The look and feel of the restaurant is beautiful. The food came out in decent time and was good. The service was below average. We sat for 15 minuets before we had to flag someone down for drinks. About 5 minuets later, our waiter, who I still don’t know his name due to his lack of introductions, came over to take drink orders. I ordered a cocktail and requested a lime in it...5 times and 2 cocktails later, it showed up. Two gentlemen at my table got the wrong cocktail 2 X.
Seems odd to reach over and across people, time and time again, in order to put new silverware down. He also dropped two dirty forks on my client and failed to recognize or even apologize for it.
Everyone has things going on that we don’t know about. Perhaps that was happening here however, I would not go back here again due to my experience. There is plenty of overpriced food in Boston where the team will take great care of you and your group for dinner.
We used to consider this restaurant very good, visited a number of times, and until a few days ago, last brought guests in May 2018. Since that visit in May, the food quality has significantly decreased, the food options have become disappointing, and the service is poor. Also, the reconstruction of the dining space detracts from the experience. It is unlikely that we will return.
It’s a nice restaurant with good food but a little overpriced.
The food and service were excellent and the space was grand yet warm and comfortable. A beautiful place to luxuriate and savor french classics.
First time visiting Boston and this was a great spot to spend quality time with a friend! Would definitely come back!
Very poor service! Ambience is awesome. Croissants were very good, charcuterie platter was excellent! Things went downhill from there. Our entrées didn’t arrive for two hours and when they finally did, the steak was overcooked and the sole was just fair, nothing special. To their credit, they did provide complimentary desserts and entrées, but the experience on the whole, was just not good. We had really looking forward to this restaurant, but it was very disappointing. I must say the manager handled the situation very well. She was terrific, but by that time, we were all ready pretty unhappy with the whole situation.
Great service and delicious food. We came here very early before we went to laugh Boston. Excellent choice
I thought the food was outstanding and I really liked the ambiance.
Overall, I would add it to my list of great places to go for dinner and I'm looking forward to taking my husband there so he can have their amazing chicken dish!
Haven’t seen these friends in a while and our server, Paul, made our experience absolutely unforgettable!!
Paul our server was extremely nice. Food was delicious and loved the decor of the restaurant
Everything was perfect. The staff was polite, friendly and on point!! the atmosphere was industrial elegance with a masculine feel..although intimate and cozy. Our waiter never faulted, brilliant timing, and of course our food was sensational. We ordered 5 apps, 7 meals, 3 desserts, a couple of drinks, and coffee. Nothing disappointed!! Also the croissants that are served in place of a bread basket magnificent !!! I have never written a review but I often read them to make my final decision. Go to Bastille kitchen it will not disappoint
Food was fantastic!
This was the perfect date. The service was excellent and attentive without disrupting the romantic ambiance. The food and drinks were amazing. I’ll recommend this place to friends and family.
Went for NYE....didn't know it was a Prix Fix menu, and there was an item I could not eat. They accommodated with a reasonable substitute. Wine and food was great...waitstaff very good! I will go back to try the regular menu....
SUPERB food. We chose it because it was 8 min from airport after we picked someone up, but worth the drive from the suburbs and we will be back. Best duck and mussels we've ever had. Great fries.
Our family had a lovely early dinner here before we went off to the Christmas Pops. Beautiful and cozy interior, very comfortable chairs--great atmosphere. Our server was fabulous--very friendly & accommodating and we all had delicious meals! Really enjoyed to food and the menu had a variety of choices--something for everyone. Overall, a perfect restaurant for our family--very enjoyable!
Good experience. Great service. Food was good, but not great.
Service was very poor. We sat down and did not get our drink orders taken for half an hour, we were brought the wrong drink orders as well as wrong meals. Our server never introduced herself and it felt like the entire meal we were served by a variety of different people ranging from the hostess to other waitresses. The cherry on the top was being slapped with a 20% gratuity
Everything was fine but not quite what it should have been. Escargots were cooked in oil, not butter, needed garlic, puff pastry was a joke sprinkling. Duck a l'orange was lacking in orange. Apple tart was a salt bomb. Chocolate cake might as well have been from a box.
Second visit to the Bastille Kitchen. It's a cool restaurant locale, the waitstaff is attentive and friendly. The food is very delicious. My partner ordered duck L'Orange, which had a beautiful crisp to the skin. The only comment was that the portion was too large (1/2 duck; a more European size would have suited her in this case). Something to consider - it's definitely a sharable portion at this point. Wine selections are weighted to French (not surprising) but we found a nice Bourgogne to go with our dinner. I'd recommend the restaurant to anyone who likes French/American style elegant dining and is going to an event in the Seaport or near South Station - walkable and well worth a try.
We had a party of 7 for my birthday dinner. The service, food, and ambiance were exceptional and contributed to a memorable experience with my nearest and dearest. Our waiter went above and beyond to ensure that we had a special time. Thank you!
We had a reservation but came early. They were very accommodating. Great ambiance. Drinks were measured pours, so no value there. We dropped 3 bills on 3 people so it wasn’t cheap. Apps were fine but we all ordered the ribeye and Frits but you guessed it... as the other option was the sirloin... they brought us all the sirloins. Perfectly cooked but not what we ordered. Ugh. There were a couple of holiday parties going on and several waiters walked by and bumped into my chair. No biggie but nobody ever stopped and said anything let alone an apology. For the hype and price everything should have been better but it wasn’t.
Staff was welcoming, friendly, and very efficient and competent. Food was excellently prepared and served. I would definitely return and would recommend to anyone. On a busy Friday night, the room was a bit noisy, as it is a large, open space with little noise damping. Overall, fun and great food.
Phil was the best server we have had during any board meeting. He was respectful, patient and courteous!
I had the Duck a l'orange. Wanted to try it, but never had the chance til now. It was amazingly rich and flavorful. Staff was very friendly. Liked the décor. Convenient location for after work in the Ft Point Channel neighborhood. Only a single drawback. The lighting was so dim that we had trouble reading the menu. A neighboring table used their tablet for light. When my plate was brought to me, I could make out the duck, but could not make out anything else on the plate. I could taste potatoes, but couldn't see them.
Our dinner was excellent and the service even better. We were treated like the only guests in the restaurant and the food did not disappoint. Thank you!!
BK was a disappointment. The ambience is top notch and set expectations that food and service would be at the same level. They were far from it. Sadly, not worth the very high prices.
The best steak I have ever eaten!!!!!! The ambiance was fantastic and service spectacular. I would HIGHLY recommend.
The food was just not good. The service was slow on an un crowded night. The escargot were bizarre with little bits of pastry stuck to the shells. They give you croissants instead of crusty bread. The wine had sediment in the bottom of the glass. The steak was like a Stop and Shop cut. The duck was cooked well but sat atop something tasteless. Very little sauce. The salad also tasted like nothing. No hint of mustard in the dressing. Very disappointed overall wanted to try someplace new. It is pretty inside but that’s it.
Food was fantastic. Service was top notch. We had an amazing night out. Thank you!
