Went during Dine Out Boston week so the menu may have differed from the regular menu but it was all delicious!! My friend and I both had the lobster bisque which may be top 5 lobster bisque I've had at a restaurant. Lived the environment and planned to go back
Had a pleasant dinner! Beautiful space, not so comfy French cafe chairs (however, they do have banquet seating).
Escargot appetizer was delicious.
We ordered steak frites, dorado fish and sole.
All were very good.
Dessert was a nice touch as well, chocolate, marshmallow.
It’s great they have a parking garage behind the restaurant, it’s only $5 with validation to park, what a bargain and another reason to go back.
The Bastille Kitchen is absolutely my new favorite spot! Chef Kendall and his staff rock! I’ve been swinging by weekly now for several months and I’ve never been disappointed. Last night was yet another excellent dining experience...from walking in the door and being greeted by hostess Andy, followed by attentive service by Anna and Phil. I tried the Dine Out Boston menu and thoroughly enjoyed Chef’s unbelievably delicious lobster bisque followed by the equally yummy green circle chicken. Already looking to my next visit next week!
Food was very good. Service top rate. Can be a bit noisy since it is an open space shared with bar.
Really loved our Friday night out at Bastille. Our server was excellent and the managers were attentive and lovely. Get the duck - it is fantastic.
Menu was not as seen on website, choices were limited.. Food was not prepared as ordered
Food and service were top tier. Portions are a little small for the price but to be expected at a French restaurant.
Fantastic experience. Great food and a cozy environment. Great for a date night or casual drinks.
Food was very good. The service was good but missed the mark a few times ex: Bus woman didn't speak enough English to understand my question. 2) My wife's espresso was delivered 3-5 minutes before my desert = cold espresso. 3) the did not have a demi tasse spoon for the espresso. Nice place, nice staff. We will go back.
Excellent food and service
We made a reservation (and confirmed said reservation on the phone) for Valentine’s Day. We arrived on time for our 9:30pm reservation and they couldn’t find it. Thought I was someone else 3 times and then couldn’t seat us because they were “too busy”. They said we could sit in the lounge and still have the prix fixe menu so we did, reluctantly. We ordered pretty quickly after we sat down, so that was a plus I suppose. Two other couples that came in well after us were able to be pulled out of the lounge and sat at tables, so that sucked. 20 min went by and we still didn’t have our appetizers or drinks (they were out of my first choice of app btw). I don’t understand how you can’t honor a confirmed reservation because it’s too busy on a night where you expect it to be busy and then also, how do you run out of food on a night where you’re ONLY offering a prix fixe menu. Probably won’t be back, that experience really sucked.
This has to be one of the best restaurants in Boston.
Lobster bisque was amazing and should be a regular on the menu!
The steak was artistic and delicious.
Waiters and rest of the staff very professional and eclectic people had a great time and can’t wait to be back to eat more.
Terrible service. Terrible food. Ruined our Valentine’s Day dinner. Fixed menu no excuses.
I had the duck and it was delicious. The butternut squash preparation was truly a testament to the French cooking ability to turn the ordinary into the extraordinary. My wife had the salmon and she was not disappointed. Wait staff was very attentive.
Well priced, fantastic food preparation, excellent service, nice environment.
Ate at the bar while traveling alone on business. Everything was well-prepared and delicious. Service was responsive but not intrusive. Server was Anna who was very professional and helpful.
Surprising twists on traditional French dishes. We liked the changes but know this before you get your heart set on Escargo the way you' ve know from a Paris bistro. Beef bourguignon was a large fist sized piece of meat. Duck l'orange came with the sweet sauce on the side and a fiesty spicey slaw bed to contrast flavors. We thought the chef did a great job improving some of our favorites!
Service well intended but missed on details.
The music was extremely loud for 15 minutes for some unknown, to us , reason. It didn't last long but we didn't know that at the time. I think it was at the request of another customer? We would go back because the food was so innovative and delicious.
Very nice waitress! Very engaging with us and so positive! Dinner was delicious, ordered a Caesar Salad and got Boston Lettuce with Oil and Vinegar no croutons or cheese so we were surprised. The short rib was the BEST ever!!!! The music went up so high we had to shout at each other for 5 mins so we complained. Turns out a lady accidentally hit the knob while retrieving her coat and didn’t realize. The treated the entire restaurant to a free glass of after dinner wine. This was our third visit and we will return again. Everyone was so kind.
Beautiful restaurant, delicious food, wonderful service!
Food was wonderful. Was pricey but worth it! Service was good, staff was very attentive. Really liked the decor and lighting, as well.
This is our 2nd attempt. Menu is fine and food was OK. Fries on Steak Frites had no crispness and couldn't stand the bend test. (i.e. pick one up and it bends like a limp daisy) Appetizer plates were cleared individually as each person finished. Main course arrived as the fourth person still wasn't finished the appetizer. We'd expect at least 10 minutes between courses. Not impressed. Won't be back. For those prices we would expect more attention to detail. These were our main issues - the others I haven't got time to list.
Maitre D and waitress excellent.
Ambiance wonderful . Will be back
I brought my girlfriend here for our recent successes professionally. The environment was everything I expected and more. The ambiance was modern and sleek, beautiful and modern. It combined a vintage French aesthetic with the desireable trappings of a chic restaurant in Boston. Wonderful experience.
The Onion soup and Steak Tartare were excellent. The short ribs were very good and the Duck although a little too sweet, overall, was very good . Our server, Dale was very personable, very efficient in a very discreet manner and is a superb professional.
Amazing service and unbelievable food!!!
Terrific Dinner Spot. The menu is interesting and fun. The quality of the food and preparation is exceptionally good. Service is very friendly and genuine. While lively, it is not excessively loud (a very unusual combination in restaurants). While it is an excellent restaurant, it is not inexpensive. So while the value is not exceptional, the price is a fair price to pay for such an excellent restaurant. We'll be back, and we recommend it for special dinners.
The food was excellent and the service from Dale was outstanding!
We had an awesome prix-fixe dinner on New Year's Eve, with wine pairing. Every course was exquisite. My husband loved his steak tartare and I the Endive salad. The entrees of halibut and steak were perfect. service was very attentive, we were given an extra complimentary glass of champagne before our meal to celebrate my husband's retirement. We left at just the right time, as a very loud DJ and dancing started downstairs as midnight approached. Even that would have been wonderful if we were a bit younger
Bastille is always great. Food was amazing and our server Filbert was great. He really guided us through the menu helping us pair each course with a delicious wine.
Excellent service from a very personable staff.
Every single thing was good. I especially thought that the wine list was excellent. Great selections at very fair prices. I was told that the manager Paul was responsible. I will be back.
Excellent food & wonderful service— we are always delighted with Bastille !
Very slow service, mediocre food. Great venue though, they had a few holiday parties going on which may have affected things. I’d go back for a drink but probably not dinner.
Great place to go for a date, the food, service, and atmosphere were truly amazing. Chef Kendall did an amazing job with the creation of his dishes, and considering It was my first time dining at Bastille Kitchen I will definitely be coming back. If you happen to go, I would recommend asking for Fil as your server. He provided us with extraordinary service!
One of our favorite restaurants. Always treat us well and food is excellent.
My boyfriend and I celebrated his birthday with dinner at Bastille Kitchen. For a large restaurant, the space is super cozy and romantic. My boyfriend and I sat in a lovely booth. Everyone in the restaurant greeted us wishing him a happy birthday (per the note I left when making the reservation) which was so nice. We both enjoyed the steak frites. DELICIOUS. Our server brought over a complimentary S'mores dessert which was unbelievable. I loved our special treatment for our special occasion. A huge fan of French cuisine, I will most definitely will be back to try other menu items!
10/10– from the wine to apps to dessert; wonderful service and ambiance for brother’s birthday. Mario and staff were fantastic!
We went the eve before Thanksgiving and it was very quiet, a lovely evening. Entire staff was super nice and they even provided a surprise drink and dessert after the meal to celebrate the upcoming Holiday. A really classy touch. LOVE the place; was our second time and it was just as good as the first. The food is delicious and dishes quite unique.
