Good night at Bastille Kitchen. Solid steak frites dinner and good choice of wines by the glass. Good choice in the neighborhood.
Best service and wait staff around. Good was incredible.
Pretty limited menu. Great staff.
Awesome food. Great service.
Great experience from any point-of-view. Great food. Pleasant staff.
We had an amazing dinner here. We noted through Open Table that it was a date night. Paul, the manager and sommelier, made the meal memorable with his thoughtful pairings. Definitely a special treat for two sleep deprived parents of a toddler. Thank you Paul and team for a wonderful night out! We’ll definitely be back.
Amazing service from Christina :)
Beautiful, and slightly hidden restaurant. Ambiance was perfect! A very warm feel in the restaurant with decor and staff. The food matched the experience perfectly.
I was visiting Boston for the weekend and getting together with college friends on Saturday night (9/28). We considered a lot of different restaurants but ultimately we chose Bastille. It was the right choice. The food was great. I ordered the sole and loved it! The fish was perfectly cooked and lemon/brown butter sauce was craveable. I all but licked my plate clean! All my girlfriends loved their meals, too. We shared the octopus and escargot for starters. The octopus was tender and delicious. The escargot was not the typical presentation but instead served on a delicious puff pastry. Our server, Mario, was definitely the highlight of our night. He was fun, funny, attentive, and knowledgeable. The whole experience was memorable. I will recommend this restaurant to others and hope to come back on another visit!
We have to take a moment and thank our waiter Mario for the amazing service. He made it such a fun night for 6 friends getting together. The food was delicious!! Shout out to the Lobster Gnochi!! Would go back again and again!
Great atmosphere/vibe and excellent cooking. Plates were well-presented and the food quantity was very good (I'm a portions guy and expect value). I'd like to see some more French bistro/brasserie standards, but it's hard to complain. Service could be more informed on the dishes. My next visit will be to the bar for moules et frites and the cold Trillium draft of the week.
We were there to celebrate a big birthday. From the moment we walked in, they treated us like royalty. The entire staff was fabulous. We were not rushed. Our meal was spectacular. Champagne greeted each of us when we sat down. A special shared dessert along with after dinner drink topped off the evening. Whatever you order, be sure you try the truffle fries. Best in the City.
Loved every bite , great place and atmosphere . Will definitely be back!
Food was just okay. The service was only good when the staff wanted something from us. At 10pm they turned on the lights bright to get us to leave. Overall the restaurant was empty. Had not been here in several years and won’t be back.
Thank you SO MUCH for taking care of us. I had put in a request regarding taking my husband Drew out on a date to celebrate his new job; and also to celebrate him being such a kind and genuine person. Paul who was the GM was wonderful to us - he went all out with the champagne and complimentary dessert; and went as far as to mention my note and be present to greet us with champagne at the table. We were so touched to be taken care of in such a way. Nick was our server and was very attentive and gracious. The food was lovely, the ambience perfect! Thank you so much to all the staff who helped celebrate Drew. We will most certainly be back!
A must try with accommodating service
Great food, great service in a beautiful setting.
The menu included a nice assortment of favorites and updates. We started with oysters and shared the cheese plate which included delicious grilled bread and salmon rillette.
The lobster gnocchi was delicious and our waiter was spot to recommend the rib eye vs the steak frites.
The space itself is just stunning. A bar on one side includes cozy smaller seating areas, there are two spaces for private dining and the main dining room has booths or tables with enormous beautiful windows.
Will definitely be back.
I took my husband here for his 40th. Service was outstanding! The sommelier helped us pick the perfect wine to go with his duck and my fish. Everything was executed to perfection! Oysters cleanly shucked, tender fish, generous portion of duck. Everything fresh and perfectly seasoned. Artfully decorated desserts. Romantic ambiance. What more could you want?
In town for a conference, and while browsing around, we found Bastille. I showed it to my co-workers, and they were interested. Did not disappoint. I made a reservation just in case, and was able to add one to the party by just accessing my reservation. Didn't have to wait for them to open and call someone.
They food was wonderful. Our server was great. We enjoyed the wine, and did not want for everything. They almost seemed to be prowling around watching for when you might need something at your table, but you did not see any hovering or anything like that. They were just there at the right time all the time.
Very relaxed atmosphere and environment. The prices were good on the food as well. Truthfully, probably too good. You'd likely pay more elsewhere for food that delicious.
I've already recommended Bastille Kitchen to a friend who will be in Boston in a few weeks, and I wouldn't mind returning at some point in the future.
The staff is attentive and so personable. We loved our experience here that we ate here twice during our one week in Boston. The appetizers are unique and delicious. The wine list is to die for and every dish we tried was amazing. On our second visit, the chef made us special dessert. Our waitress, Jasmine, was lovely and so pleasant to talk to. We truly enjoyed her company. If you are looking for a restaurant with great food, atmosphere and quiet enough to have a conversation then Bastille is your haven.
I reserved Bastille kitchen for my boss and his small team in Boston. He said, "The dinner venue was perfect – reasonable prices and suitable for talking (not too crowded or noisy)." Points for me.
Had my first experience at Bastille during dine out Boston. Our server Dale helped facilitate an amazing experience with prompt hospitable service & a great sense of humor. Highlights from our meal included the Octopus and lobster gnocchi! For drinks we indulged in glasses of wine per our servers recommendation & espresso martinis for dessert! 10/10 recommend and will definitely be back!
Bastille offered some excellent dishes- our favorites being the watermelon salad, the steak tartare and the unusual but delicious escargot which was presented in a square pastry. The only negatives were an overly lit dining space and an an unexplained upsell by our server to two of our party from steak frites to a wagyu dish, which was wonderful if you knew what to expect but disappointing if like one of our two you expected something akin to steak frites. A lovely bday surprise at the end made for an overall pleasant experience.
Be still my heart, Bastille Kitchen. I had dinner here this week and was blown away by our server Mario. He was incredibly knowledgeable about celiac and took great care to make me feel both safe but also respected. You have earned a customer for life! The food was phenomenal too!
I was able to get the escargot without the puff pastry to start, and the steak frites with mushrooms for dinner. They do not have a dedicated frier. Desert was a nice cream brûlée.
Delicious. Beat mussels ever, duck superb. Too full to eat dessert sadly. A favorite. Parking tough and they ticket so be prepared to valet
We will be going back! Everything was delicious and we loved the atmosphere!
Food was great, good service and ambience. Watermelon salad was fresh and tasty and the salmon and sole dishes were cooked to perfection.
Appetizers very good ..dinners ..all parties in my group where satisfied but did not rate it as excellent
This was one of the best dining experiences I have ever had the opportunity to enjoy. The sommelier took care of our table - perfectly pairing our meals with the right wine. The food was incredible and the ambiance was wonderful. I will be back!
The ambience is special; food is wonderful. Our server was charming, but made mistakes. That could have been better. Would go back!
Bastille Kitchen was the perfect choice for our family get together. We have to thank the staff who made the experience fantastic! The food was delicious and the ambience was perfect. Thank you again!!
Nice classic french menu with inconsistent results. Some of our entrees were five star (duck and poussin) others were not (steak diane was tough, bland and cold). Also, there were very long pauses in service and food delivery, long enough that unprompted the manager sent over free desserts, which by the way were outstanding (lime filled doughnuts).
Great vegan options!
Ask yo be seated in Dale’s section! Absolute AMAZING service!
The restaurant is labeled French, but besides "escargots", there is nothing really French on the menu. My friend and I both ordered steak, on medium rare and one medium, they had to be sent back as too cooked (both were not even pink inside).
The service is average and variable. The waiter who took our order could not describe the dish, and had not information on wine choices in the (short, 5 white, and 5 red) by the glass list. After ordering a glass, he came back saying they were out. And recommended "something similar", which is in fact completely different. When asked more details, he didn't know but also did not offer to bring someone who knew. We also had to ask for him twice as we needed help.
Oh man, the food and the service were both just amazing. Celebrated a birthday/anniversary here and they took such great care of us. I'll definitely be back.
Dinner at Bastille Kitchen was truly fantastic. A wonderful experience.
From cocktails to after-dinner drinks, our experience was FIVE-STAR. We started with steak tartare and cocktails, then Lemon Sole Meunière and finished with creme brûlée and a few more drinks.
The service, provided by Carrie, was perfect. A special evening, our leisurely pace through the meal allowed us to enjoy the fine cuisine and to let the wonderful evening linger. We haven’t had service like this in a long, long time. Thank you.
Special mention to Paul for his additional care and attention!
Bastille Kitchen is highly recommended.
We’ll be back!
Love this place! We had our bachelorette party dinner here and they went out of their way to make it a special event. We were really impressed with the service and the food was amazing as well.
Good food, good service, pretty expensive. Great bernaise sauce.
Delicious food. Best mussels I have ever had.
