Bastille Brasserie & Bar is located at the corner of North Fayette & Pendleton Street in Alexandria VA.

Chefs Christophe & Michelle Poteaux's award winning restaurant & bar, located in Old Town Alexandria, has continuously offered guests fresh takes on classic French cuisine, all within our quaint neighborhood brasserie.

Our creations are rooted in the use of seasonal, locally sourced and farm fresh ingredients. Our passion for French food, wine & culture is what we celebrate daily with all of Alexandria & the DMV.     A delight to celebrate the birthday of a dear friend on Bastille Day at Bastille Brasserie in Alexandria, VA. For the French national holiday, the chef created a special menu for the evening. Suffice to say, everything served from the paté de volaille and onion soup to magnet de canard and steak frites was delicious. And the celebratory desserts were simply superb. Merci, et Bonne Fête Nacional!

    Viva Bastille! Normally closed on Monday nights, they were very much open for a wonderful fixed price Bastille Day dinner. The staff wore fun French berets, temporary tattoos, and more. The mood was happy and festive. The food was excellent as were the choices. Our server, Andres was terrific. It was a special night and my party of four were glad to help celebrate Bastille Day. Everyone we saw left with a smile on their face. Well done staff!!

    We dined during Bastille’s observance of France’s Bastille Day holiday. The restaurant offered a 3-course prix fixe menu for the occasion. The number and variety of the choices offered for each course were ample. Each option was tempting. Three diners at our table selected the paella, which was excellent we all agreed. The fourth diner at our table chose steak frites, which he savored. The wait staff had dressed festively for the special occasion, complete with berets and facial makeup, which succeeded in tailoring the ambience to the celebration. Our waiter, Dibs, provided jolly but thoroughly professional hospitality. The manager, Juan, personally greeted us warmly upon our arrival. All in all, kudos to Juan, Dibs, and the staff of Bastille.

    Very welcoming.My wife and I enjoyed the Bastille Day menu. She had the salad, steak frites and cheese plate while I enjoyed the escargot paella ( yes, I know, who has paella at a French restaurant but it was wonderful!) and special dessert. A most pleasant Shiraz paired well with both our dishes.. Our server Anna was perfect. She was attentive, her recommendations were excellent and she was most personable. We’ve been to Bastille a couple of times and we always wonder why we don’t come more often.

    Always love the food. Which is wrll.prepared. and good value, though the portions definitely are smaller than zi remember. The service is wonderful. The wines drinckable. It's the atmosphere, which is without charm and very I open, adding to the very noisy ambience, which is th one downfall.

    Once again, Bastille hit on all cylinders on our latest visit. Great service, great food, great drinks. Gotta love a place that stays strong and consistent instead of devolving into complacency.
