We were greeted with a warm and professional welcome frame William. It was so great to see him again. We last saw William February 2019.
We requested outdoor seating the patio was clean, William ensure we were warm and comfortable. Our service was impeccable, our meal delicious. I enjoyed shrimp and grits, my husband enjoyed Ouefs Benedict.
Rich, lively flavors and interesting ingredients. The shrimp beignets were terrific, but the sea scallops were just about the best thing I've ever tasted.
Bastille never fails to provide an enjoyable time.
Been meaning to try place for months. Decided towards end of week wanted to go somewhere for a few drinks and was place we decided on. Service at first was quick and attentive with our sparkling water and alcoholic beverages arriving quickly along with appetizer. Jacob-the bartender did a good job of handling bar patrons and us who were seated at table in bar area. Only issues my party had were the overzealous staff in our opinion trying to clear our appetizer when clearly had roughly a quarter left. The other issue was the fact it took us ~20 min to get our dessert on a clearly not busy night where one could see restaurant occupancy was at no more than ~40%. May be back to try their entrees before making a final decision on the restaurant and when do can only hope dessert does not take as long this time.
Absolutely outstanding-from service to food , divine !!!
Everything was awesome! The happy hour/house red was AMAZING!! Rudy at the bar was great! Their marketing/social media person is sassy, but that won’t take away from a great experience
Delicious food and drinks. Exceptional service. Thank you!
The dining staff went out of their way to help our party celebrate friend’s birthday by proving a handwritten card and celebratory sparkling wine! Bastille is one of my go to restaurants. always reliable.
Excellent food and service. The best mushroom soup I’ve ever had on the foodie scene on 3 continents! Great brunch 3 course meal value too. Def highly recommend!
We ate at Bastille today and though the food was fine, I was greatly disappointed with the service, and what I felt was a minor request. We had a Celiac in our party and asked politely if an omelette could be made. This was not on the menu, but in my estimation could have easily been made. There were other egg preparations offered. We were told that eggs could only be plain scrambled. Of course, we would have paid what the restaurant expected for the request. Perhaps, I am wrong but the inflexibility and curtness was surprising.
The Thanksgiving dinner was amazing, so thankful they shared their kitchen and staff on a day we couldn’t cook at home. Excellent old-fashioned to start, followed by a perfect autumn salad of beets and squash. The pumpkin creme caramel for dessert was amazing too. Great people, great location, great food… why we keep going back.
Went for the 3 course Thanksgiving dinner and were blown away! From starter to dessert quality and taste of everything and I mean everything was outstanding and delectable. Ingredients were fresh and tasty and the chef’s presentation and preparation were all on point! Definitely will be back again and invite friends.
Thanksgiving— offerings were pretty restricted and skimpy in quantity and just so so in quality
Really nice thanksgiving meal - something on the menu to appeal to everyone at our table. Service was great!
I have always enjoyed Bastille. Thanksgiving was a little pricey but food was excellent as usual.
They should have updated their holiday menu (Thanksgiving) like other restaurants at OpenTable. When I booked it didn’t say that they have Prefix only for $75.00/person. When we got there, since we’re still having a Thanksgiving Dinner, I just wanted to have something for brunch/lunch. Unfortunately we were told that they only offer Prefix for that day. We can no longer say no because I gave them in advance my credit card information and if I cancel they will charge me anyways. With no choice, we have to order from their very limited selection of entrees. Please, next time, be truthful with your ads.
A neighborhood gem. Wonderful service, amazing food and staff. A little piece of Paris in the middle of Old Town.
My favorite Alexandria restaurant. Consistently good food and service and nice relaxed atmosphere. I particularly like that it isn’t noisy, and there’s enough space between tables.
Exceptional food and service. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It was wonderful to return to Bastille for brunch after a long absence (Covid restrictions, health, etc.) Great hospitality & food. I ordered my usual Kir Royale to accompany the bread basket. Barry's first course was croissants (chocolate included). Mine was French onion soup. Delicious but they need a larger bowl because there was very little broth. Entrees were the burger & Gulf Shrimp & grits. Perfect with a glass of Gruner Veltliner. They gave us a 50th anniversary card w/ 15% off our next visit. Desserts were Pots de Creme & Tart Tatin. I had black coffee & hubby ordered Cappuccino. Can't wait to return!
The service was prompt, courteous, helpful and the food well prepared. attractively served and delicious.
Lovely restaurant. Delicious food and wonderful service.
Disappointing experience. Steak frites ordinary. The restaurant continues to serve a very strange “ketchup” made with star anise and cinnamon. Please, have some Heinz or Hunt’s on hand!
Always delicious food and good service here.
My wife’s birthday. It was lovely. We received a 15% off a future visit voucher, two glasses of champagne, and cute birthday embellishment on her dessert. Combined with the fabulous and tasty food, it was a lovely brunch experience at one of our favorite restaurants.
Wonderful food and experience. Staff were very kind to my partner for her birthday. Would highly recommend.
A nice neighborhood restaurant with great food and service.
The food, service and ambiance were fantastic! I would highly recommend the onion soup and duck!
Excellent food and great service. We really enjoyed dining on the back patio.
Excellent service and food
It was my daughters first French cuisine experience and they absolutely loved it. So much so, that they were talking about it the next day. We went for Sunday Brunch. The Prix Fixe was a great option.
Superb as usual.
Was fantastic! The food is always great but the service is phenomenal. We even asked to be reseated due to the noise at our first table, and we wanted to focus on each other. The place was quite full and yet they still found a way even after we had thought there was no chance. They re-sat us and the night was amazing. Love this spot.
I went here for dinner with a friend, and both of our meals were great! The Soup de Jour was a mushroom soup that was fantastic, and the scallops and steak frites were perfectly cooked. If you’re looking for a date night option or a good dinner with friends, this is the place to be!
Simply outstanding restaurant. The best restaurant in Old Town Alexandria. It is our go-to place. We constantly recommend Bastille to others. The owners recognize that their clients are locals which means they pay attention to quality and customer service--nothing like repeat clients.
The butternut squash soup was out of this world. The mussels were and fries were pretty good, but the fries were not hot. And we loved the profiteroles and creme brûlée.
Also my LA Confidential cocktail was really good. We've always had great cocktails here.
Great food and service
A delicious meal and impeccable service is what you'll always deserve, Suzanne, so it's wonderful to know that you received nothing less. Here's hoping that we can welcome you back soon for more of the same. -Bastille Brasserie and Bar
