Basta Italian Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
It was a great experience. The food was phenomenal. The service was excellent. The entertainment was top notch. The ambience was quite romantic as there were over 1,000 roses hanging from the ceiling for Valentine week. Thank you for a wonderful dining experience. Already recommended to friends and will definitely return.
Basta's has great food and is a great place for a special occasion. However, I found the menu too limited. Very few fish dishes. No shrimp or pork selections. Only a few specials offered. I also feel the dinner cost was high. If I compare our cost to other good Italian restaurants I find it to be 20% higher. Basta's is a good Italian restaurant but falls short in the overall dining experience.
The food is always excellent at Basta. This evening the Veal Saltimbocca was wonderful as always, my husband’s salmon was a little dry over cooked... they
Were exceptionally busy this particular Saturday .. The service was a bit slow likely for the same reason. We would come back to visit again.. on our balance our visits have been excellent
Basta is our go to restaurant for any special occasion. We live just under an hour away, so the dining experience has to top notch to warrant the travel.
Basta has never disappointed.
The menu is varied, the specials are inventive, the service attentive but not obtrusive, and the entire experience is something we keep coming back for
Service was excellent. We told our server we were going to the theater and she made
sure we had everything in a timely fashion. Very friendly. Atmosphere/decor was very attractive and cozy. Food was mixed. We were a group of six, 4 people had the soup and raved about it. They all those got the portion was too large for an
Appetizer course. Veal saltimbacca was delicious, veal parmigiana not so much. Too bready. Bolognese was skimpy on the sauce.
My real rating for food was 3.5 but couldn’t choose that. I would go back though.
Excellent dinning, great service, delicious food. The ambiance is very pleasing. We sometimes go and enjoy dinning at the bar. Very relaxing, you’re not rushed and everyone is very pleasant. We have not been in a while but we certainly will try to dine there more often.
A favorite place when we visit relatives nearby. Service has a nice aura of professionalism, food rarely disappoints. Menu is more comfortable than creative, but that's an observation, not a criticism, and there is usually some interesting fare along with the red sauce standards like veal parmigian (which is very well done here, and fills a large dinner plate). Moderate to higher priced all around, but dishes and portions all feel generous, the execution eschews the usual shortcuts found in less expensive places, and we always leave happy and full. My one personal recommendation - bring some Peru into your pizza and have Mike make you a Pisco Sour.
Last time we ate here we really enjoyed the food and the service was pretty good. This time we were all pretty disappointed. The staff was all over the place. We all had drinks from the bar when we were seated at our table and we had to ask them to clear all the extra wine glasses that we didn’t need. Ok maybe not a big deal. But then the busser kept coming over to the table the entire time to clear plates when we weren’t even done with our food. We had the buratta appetizer special that was really delicious. Calamari was a little chewy for my liking. My husband and I did not care for the marinara sauce. It had way too much sugar in the sauce. Which was a shame because the gnocchi’s were delicious. Overall disappointed.
