    Thursday night dinner. Went in through the front door. The two hostess saw us from the other station. Still waited at the door till we had to ask a server if we should go to the other side. Was seated. Waited 10 minutes before anyone even came over to us. Watched all the workers just stand near the door & look around then walk away. Which at that point we were about to leave. Drinks and food were good. Cute place but wish the waiting time and service was better.

    Basta was wonderful, as always. It was a busy Saturday, but our server was attentive. I’m so glad to have this gem in my neighborhood.

    Unfortunately there was a beetle crawling in our cheesecake. After declining their offer for another piece, they merely removed the $11 charge from the bill. Personally we feel a gift card, or another gesture- drink on the house , etc was more than warranted. We will not return.

    Extremely expensive for just "okay" food. No side dishes come with the meal. A pasta dish, a veal dish and one wine was $90.00. Not worth the price at all! I found the food to be adequate but certainly not outstanding.

    Our server was so sweet and amazing. She made for our family dinner/birthday celebration for my Husband truly a great evening that we all enjoyed. Was perfect night!

    Went in to celebrate my birthday. I was pleasantly surprised by the ambiance as I had been told it was just ok, food was ok, def lacked flavor but overall it’s a decent spot to go and celebrate a special occasion if you’re an ambience person.

    We were seated adjacent to an extremely large dinner party who were celebrating a special occasion. They were noisy and as a result, the service was slow. I ordered the cod which was excellent and my boyfriend got the veal parmigiana which was just ok. The server did accommodate us with a free glass of wine.

    The wait staff was very attentive and kept refilling our waters. Nice touch. We ordered the bolognaise and the eggplant pizza. The pizza was cooked perfectly and eggplant was sliced nice and thin. Don't like thick pieces of eggplant. Flavors went well together and the crust was soft and tasty. The bolognaise was good but not great. It had a great flavor and there was plenty of it, but I didn't like the hamburger texture of the meat and there wasn't enough sauce. Don't get me wrong, we ate the whole thing. Can't wait to try a different pizza

    Overall it was a very pleasant experience. They even brought us complimentary champagne for our anniversary, and don't know if this is a regular thing but they also brought over complimentary limoncello at the end. My husbands veal parm was excellent, he never comments on food but he did on this. I ordered the linguine with shrimp but substituted chicken for the shrimp. My meal was not very good. The chicken was a bit dry, the meal was served lukewarm, and it could have used more sauce. I was disappointed but it wasn't the end of the world. Our waitperson was very good. While a bit noisy it was not a problem for hearing each other. I will say that we were seated in a booth in the middle of the restaurant. It was very uncomfortable. My feet could not reach the floor and the back of the booth went straight up. It was uncomfortable to sit in. Overall, I would go back again, request to be seated at a table with regular chairs and not order the same dish.

    Lovely restaurant. Excellent food. Kind waitress, if a bit overwhelmed due to staffing issues. Food and drinks took a good amount of time but waiter clearly had too many tables and manager should have been more hands-on in helping getting order taken and delivered. Overall a nice, if not overly long, dinner.

    Our waitress was awful. It took being asked 5 times to get our drinks. I had leftovers and when she took my food to box it she put a dirty dish on top of the food and then denied it. No apology or anything. Worst service I've had in years.

    We love going to Basta. Antipasto was excellent. Bread and oil, top notch. Greens and pear salad, the best. bolognese was wonderful. Tuna, seared almost raw, was just okay. too many unusual flavors together. sambuco was the usual good. I had pasta with plain marinara. A bit thin on the marinara sauce.
