Always excellent one of our favorites! Food is great and always delicious
Great food and service. Very quick also. Would definitely go back again.
This is the third time that we’ve eaten in Basso’s 54 . It is consistent with excellent food and service. We were never hushed and all the staff at Bassos54 is courteous And professional.
Great experience overall, starting with the host, Irina, giving us a wonderful table per my request. The service was fast and super friendly...
The food was superb... we are gong back again...
Great selection, and great portion. Very modestly priced and we absolutely loved our meals. Place is small so a reservation was very helpful
Great food and service.
Basso56 is one of our favorite restaurants when visiting New York City. The service is impeccable, the food outstanding. Basso56 never disappoints.
We enjoy Basso56, especially for lunch! Their wine list ist outstanding. They are very attentive to our food allergies.
excellent food. welcomiing "neighborhood" atmosphere. Impeecable service.
Always on their game. Most under-rated restaurant in NY
Our meal was delicious. The service was excellent and I felt that the visit was well worth the cost.
The meal was well prepared and presented and the staff was efficient, helpful and friendly. I would definitely dine there again.
Fantastic everything.....food, service et al. A great Italian find. Have already made referrals.
Absolutely the beat place for lunch! Loved the selection and the price fix menu. They need. Better sign outside to locate the place. 👍
I surprised my wife with an anniversary dinner before a show at Carnegie the other night. Two friends joined us last minute and we had zero issues modifying our reservation.
We were greeted by pleasant staff members who provided us a round of Prosecco for our anniversary. That was very kind!
Appetizers - we ordered the fried calamari and mozzarella/roasted peppers. Both were outstanding!
Dinner my wife had eggplant and I had the striped bass w/ clams. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Our one friend loved his pasta dish whole our other friend felt hers was good but slightly too heavy for her. When we received our check they took her meal off. This was not necessary but appreciated. The price per couple was definitely affordable.
Overall we had an excellent experience here and can not wait to return! I hope this review persuades others to visit this lovely and friendly establishment!
Thank you Basso56 for a great anniversary dinner!
Been going to Basso almost 20 years and it is still outstanding
Modern, clean, relatively quiet, great food, great service. Will definitely return & highly recommend.
Excellent service... friendly and professional. Outstanding food and reasonable prices.
Second time there after giving up on another new place in the neighborhood that was chaotic. Basso was pleasant, reasonably quiet, the service top-notch and the food very good. We will be back -- no more neighborhood experimentation.
Second dinner in my first NYC Midtown Manhattan visit and it was outstanding in every way. Not only was the food a delight to the tastebuds, service superb, ambiance warm and inviting, but our cocktails a healthy size and perfect mixture. A totally pleasant evening to my brief first NYC experience.
Fantastic food. Wonderful ambience. Friendly staff. Had a wonderful meal, homemade ravioli was amazing. The wine was reasonably priced. Made reservation again we enjoyed it so much. The gelato was delicious. Highly recommend
We had specials of the day, which were delicious. the service was prompt and friendly. A wonderful experience!
Food took absolutely forever to come out
Interesting menu, great food and top notch service. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and would recommend to others!
Iryna was lovely. Food was delicious and it was filled with locals and a few tourists. Good wine choices and friendly atmosphere.
Wonderful experience with great food and service. Very friendly staff as well as other patrons. We will certainly return on our next visit to the big Apple.
Each dish we order was wonderful. Service, as always is great too.
Fantastic little place to grab a GREAT meal before a show. Food is fantastic and the service is on point. Highly recommend!
Basso56 never fails! Great food and great staff. Our favorite!
Two of us greatly enjoyed a meal at Basso56 before seeing a Broadway show. We were a little rushed (our issue, not the restaurant), and the staff members were gracious and accommodating, although I recommend going there when you have time to enjoy, in proper Italian fashion, a delicious multi-course meal and the ambience. Excellent options for vegetarians, too.
We went to Basso56 before a performance at Carnegie Hall. Service was prompt and excellent. While the server was readily available, he was not hanging over you as is the case in some restaurants. Being Of Italian descent, and having eaten in many Italian restaurants including some in Italy, I can truly say the food at Basso56 was excellent and compares most favorably with all of these. I can easily strongly recommend Basso56 to anyone who wants a good Italian meal in comfortable surroundings at a reasonable price.
Very nice dinner...wait staff great....location mid own west good...
Loved the “Mom and Pop” kind of vibe and the food was homey Italian and just like your Noni might serve....good wine list, mostly Italian wines. This is a typical narrow NY restaurant with a center speedway back to the kitchen. Seating is a little tight but tolerable.
Wonderful service, great wine selection, some fine red Italian wines, seafood dishes for dinner & calamari to start the night off was delightful!
Always reminded when I am here about how much a good staff adds to a restaurant. They are always friendly and helpful and the food is excellent. We have been dining there since they open and never a bad experience. They have a fried zucchini appetizer over a salad with cheese, I would recommend.
An acceptable choice in the theater district. Generous portions. Too much oil in the pasta dishes.
Good food at reasonable (for mid-town Manhattan) prices. Neighborhood restaurant feel. Reservations a good idea! Have to commend our server, Irina. She was so pleasant and helpful and 'sparked joy'.
Warm welcoming space, lovely varied menu, staff accommodating and friendly.
Lovely small Italian bistro. Fantastic pre theater lunch prefix. The meal was quite good and plentiful. I would say there were a lot of salads on the menu, perhaps adding and antipasti would vary it considerably.
Enjoyed the food and ambience
Nine of us enjoyed a memorable evening. Great food, superior service. We were never rushed. I chose this restaurant for my dear friends because I have dined there before. They did not disappoint me. Will be back. And I imagine my friends will return as well.
