Horrible, horrible service. I had to ask **twice** to place an order with the waiter. The waiter stood around talking about Spain with customers, like he didn't have five angry tables of hungry diners. I didn't receive any thing more than a glass of water for 60 minutes, and then only because I was pretty vocal that if the food wasn't ready, perhaps they could at least pour the wine. The tables next to us (super close) had the same experience when they first arrived. We felt invisible. And after complaining, all they did was say sorry...no free dessert or comping of the bill. The next day, I told my friend about it and she said she had the exact same experience there, but she thought the food was terrible (I thought it was OK). I'll never go back.

Had some great appetizers - potatoes bravas, cauliflower, mushroom croquettes — and salmon and lamb sliders for the main meal. Highly recommend this place

We decided to try this restaurant because of its menu. It's located in a bakery, which threw us off. There was no one there on a Saturday night and it was odd. The food was ok, but not exceptional.

My new favorite restaurant! Wow, what a find. The combination of food quality and price is unbeatable. While the decor is plain and simple, there's a style to it and the hospitality more than compensates, making this a true neighborhood gem. Having lived in Brussels (think Paris) I've been missing places like this where simple yet sophisticated food is prepared with artistry and love at casual places. The Basque Boulangerie Cafe is like a Michelin starred restaurant, without the fancy accoutrements or high prices. Everything we got was special and delicious. I can't wait to go back.

We are new to Danville and are trying a new restaurant each Friday night. This has definitely been one of our favorites! It’s a hidden gem in Danville in the restored Danville hotel. It’s clean and very cute inside. The staff were friendly from the moment we arrived and seated us right away. They are kid friendly and had the regular kid favorites like chicken fingers & Mac & cheese. My husband and older daughter and I loved the small plate options and shared a variety. Everything was delicious and arrived in optimal time. I highly recommend Basque as a great spot for dinner in Danville and I look forward to trying breakfast and visiting their bakery in Sonoma!

The Beehive cake was incredible and the bread pudding was superb...both warrant a visit. Rest of the food was OK, but I may be biased over the wait times (see below). You might want to check with the server on expected preparation times for each order if you are in a hurry. Unfortunately the service on the one night we went left much to be desired. There were five of us, including kids, and we went there on Feb 14 for a family tappas dinner. Long story short: we left 2.5 hours later after finally getting our bill and playing at least 20 games of fruit ninja while we waited in between each food order. The owner did his best to apologize at the end of the evening but the reason (busier than we thought, etc) just didn't fly and we left feeling not so happy about the lost time. To top it off, my wife was still hungry and pretty annoyed. And no new high scores on fruit ninja.

It was our first time, so we decided to try quiet a few items on the menu! And we were impressed. The presentation of tapas and flavors were great. We sat in the back room used for large parties—added plus—big screen TV. Of course, we ordered and took pastries home as they are known in Sonoma as one of the best! Again, we were pleased. Two favorites—the Gateau Basque and The Beehive, but the other desserts were just as delicious. We want to try dining again and have a family paella night.

Low key, comfortable atmosphere. Very good to truly excellent food (and I’m a hard grader). Very accommodating staff. Very good wine. Far better food and wine than any other Iberian restaurant I’ve tried in the immediate (10-15mile) area, including Walnut Creek. We’ll definitely be back.

My husband and I had a nice, quiet dinner at this restaurant. At first, it was confusing to locate the entrance since it looked like a bakery that was about to close for the day (lights were dim). But once inside, we were greeted warmly and the food and service were excellent. The steak chimichuri and tuna entrees were flavorful. The wine list prices and variety were on point. We even enjoyed live music by a jazz duo out front. We’ll definitely be back!
