I enjoyed a large house salad and the herbed chicken breast entree. Both were delicious and generous sized portions.
Sharon provided excellent service throughout the meal.
Dining at Basil's was a most enjoyable experience.
The food and the service were quite good. The problem with the ambience was the smell of bleach when you walked in. It was not subtle. With time it seemed to fade, but it definitely influenced first impressions.
We were celebrating our Mother's birthday. The food was very good and the service was great.
Wonderful evening with out of town family. Was a little concerned with the proximity of the pool but in the end truly forgot it was even that close. The service was excellent and the food even better 👍
Would definitely return.
I wish we got better seating but it being Valentine’s Day I was hard. All in all the food was great Kevin is the best waiter and outgoing! The food was AMAZING. I had the salmon delicious. My girlfriend had steak everything was good!
Food was amazing. The service staff was accommodating. The drinks were good. Gabriel helped us and was very special and nice. Pumpkin cheesecake is AMAZING
Day after the Christmas dinner. Service was pushy and not very polite especially with a large group. No helpful suggestions for less spicy foods. Overall not good experience and won’t go back.
Our group enjoyed everything we ordered at Basil's. The salmon was prepared perfectly. My veggie pasta with angel hair was very tasty. My fattoush salad, while not authentic, was as good as any I have had in a Lebanese restaurant, just different. The mushroom bruschetta was also excellent. The only downside to the restaurant is that the "ambience" is that of a hotel cafe, not a restaurant. It is bland and sterile. But, the service was friendly and efficient.
The table we were initially seated at was all the way in the back by the kitchen! It was very loud and unpleasant!! We sat the table for about 10 minutes and no one ever came by and brought us water, menus or silverware. Finally my fiancé went and found someone to assist us. I requested that we be seated at a table in the main dining room. We then sat at our new table for 10 minutes, during this time the waitstaff walked past our table several times and o one stopped to give us menus or silverware. Again my fiancé went and found someone (the bartender) to assist us! When the bartender came to our table he asked if we were ready to place our orders, I pointed out to him that none of our party hand menus!!! Once we finally had our orders place and the appetizers (2 out of 3) were placed on our table one of the appetizers was under cooked, but rather than make a fuss we just kept it and luckily when the 3rd appetizer arrived it was beautifully cooked and delicious, so 2 out of 3 of the appetizers were delicious! Everyone’s dinner was delicious, however the desserts were just so-so. Everyone in the party agreed that next Thanksgiving we would be cooking at home!!
We went on Thanksgiving for a buffet dinner. Several members were not happy about not being served but after seeing the "spread" they changed their tune. Food was really good with lots of choices. The drink servers were very attentive and used plates were promptly removed. The noise factor was not noticeable and we all had a pleasant time. Will go back for Easter I think.
The restaurant was nicely decorated, the food was plentiful and delicious. They had a very lovely Thanksgiving buffet with a wide selection of foods, including all the tradtionals. The staff was very inviting, friendly and on top of everything! We went there last Christmas (2018) and enjoyed it so much that we came back for 2019 Thanksgiving. I'm positive we will be there again soon.
We went to have our thanksgiving buffet and overall it was a good experience, good variety of food and desserts. Gravy was way too salty but otherwise, everything was good.
My wife and I went to celebrate her birthday. The salmon special was delicious. The lamb was succulent. The presentation was decent. The waiter was attentive. The bill was reasonable. We like Basil's.
Seated quickly an open dining area only 1 waiter who got busier food very good and in fight quantities
Upon entry, the restaurant was nice. We waited a few mins to be seated though there was only one family dining at the time.
The food was bland, no flavor depth to it and nothing memorable at all.
I got the prawn pasta and the pasta was hot, but tasted pre prepared and the shrimp were not hot, they were warm at best.
The bread they gave was good.
Wasn’t impressed with the place at all. It was awkwardly quiet, maybe playing some light jazz music would create a better ambiance here.
Wait time was a bit long but it definitely was worth the wait! Excellent seafood, perfectly cooked. The best restaurant in the area
Too pricey...service was o.k. Nice of server to comp us desserts after food messup.
Pluses, great food and decor. Convenient parking. Great freeway access.
Minuses, ambiance and atmosphere that doesn't equate with the quality of the food, service and prices. The room is lit like a Rotary luncheon and devoid of charm (i.e. no votives, flowers). It wants to be a high-end destination venue but doesn't feel like one. It may be too pricey for the lobby of the Embassy Suites and was doing light to moderate business the Thursday night we were there. I thought the food and service were superlative, however. But when you have that sort of quality with big city prices, you expect some ambiance and chic. Both were missing.
Food and service was top notch. We dined in the lounge and it was spotless. Very nice server staff.
I will dine here again.
Food was fine. Bit pricey and the service was extremely slow. Ordered coffee with my dessert never received it, was charged for it. I think there was one server for all the tables. Took forever to get our check and finally did she took awhile to came back for it so we had to put it on our room.
We went with a large group last year for mother’s day and it was amazing! Went back this year, they seated us in some room away from everything, took over an hour to get drinks and service was terrible! Really disappointing and will never go back! Definitely warming people about service at this restaurant!!!
I would recommend eating in the bar area of the restaurant only. Unfortunately the food and service fell short of our expectations.
Acceptable food, though quite overpriced for what it was. For the cost, my expectation would be exceptional - not just acceptable. We dined for the Easter Brunch, so yes, we’d expect it to priced high, however, at $40 a plate ($20 for our 8 year old!), we both felt it was worth $25-$30, given the quality of offerings. We also were under the impression that basic drinks were included and were shocked to find that those too were extremely overpriced, brining our total for myself, my husband, and my 8 year old (who hardly ate) to $130 (before tip). This means that my coffee, my daughters chocolate milk, and my husbands small glass of champagne cost us an additional $30. For that price we’d be delighted to spend it at many other options nearby which we enjoy far more.
We have been coming to Basils (and before it was Basils) for 20 plus years and it has always been one of our favorite restaurants. But, I will say the meal we had the evening of the 14 Feb was probably the worst we have ever had there. It was the Seafood grill and I would say 90% of it was peppers and it was overcooked. The pear dessert left much to be desired; dry texture and very little pears. The one plus was the crab bisque, which was excellent. The service was only OK in the dining room - bar was great.
We were sorry to see Jason leave - he was one of the best, anticipated your needs and never rushed you.
Hopefully this was just a one-time hiccup! We look forward to the next visit.
Food was fine, but the restaurant was so busy the service was really slow and the staff seemed overwhelmed. Overall, wouldn't recommend for a large group or 17.
the food was very good, i got there towards the end so some things were a little dry but i would definitely recommend it and would do it again. wait staff was very attractive
We are thrilled that you enjoyed our Christmas buffet. Happy Holidays!
Went for Christmas day dinner and it was great. Everything was fresh, delicious and there was a great selection to choose from. Turkey, white & dark meat, Prime Rib, Beef Tenderloin in a glaze sauce and Honey Ham. Mashed potatoes, Candied Yams, Broccoli, Carrots, a variety of Salads and dressings, fruit, Cheese and Veggie platters, Cranberry sauce and a few other things I cannot quite remember. They then had an enormous selection of desserts in miniature so you could sample several, or too many as the case may be. My wife had a small gluten free cheesecake that she said was very, very good. The service was excellent, the staff very welcoming, cheerful and friendly, Basil's did an excellent job and we'll definitely be back!
We did the holiday buffet and were not disappointed. They did a really nice job with traditional holiday fare like turkey and prime rib but also offered raw shrimp with cocktail sauce and lox. Fixing were great, for example, mashed potatoes and quinoa-kale-cranberry salad.
Note that this was not their regular menu but a special occasion. I am not familiar with their regular menu, but this special event dinner was super.
This was the 2nd year our family went to Basil’s for the Christmas brunch. It was as amazing as last year! Great service and food. Hopefully we can make it a tradition.
I attended the Holiday Buffett for the first time for Christmas. I‘d been thinking about going for the past few years and finally decided to go since I was on my own this year. The Buffett offerings were amazing and so tasty. There was roasted turkey, ham, prime rib and fish. I only tasted the prime rib-it was not hot but it was tender and seasoned perfectly. There was garlic mashed potatoes with butter, candied yams with walnuts, roasted carrots, broccoli, and other vegetables along with dinner rolls and crab/seafood bisque with creme fraiche. I had the yams, broccoli and bisque. The veggies were sooooo good! The soup was heavy and a little off-I didn’t taste much seafood in it and the color wasn’t appetizing-looked more like gumbo rue than seafood bisque. The bisque was a disappointment, but the rest of the meal and the offerings more than made up for it. I also had some shrimp cocktail that was delicious and a sampling of spectacular desserts-a mini lemon pie with graham cracker crust that was gluten free but was probably the best dessert I had next to the lemon layer cake and the chocolate pot de creme. There was cheesecake, cookies, chocolates, biscotti, so many things. I ate as much as I could without overeating-1 plate of food and 2 saucers of dessert- and ordered a cocktail! - and I left satisfied and very glad I came-I will be back next year! I wish I would have eaten more veggies and skipped the bisque though-it was a wonderful meal.
Our waiter Jeremiah, even though he was new took great care of us. He was very knowledgeable and full of personality!!
First time there. Won’t be our last!!
Please update the restaurant, and do something about the bright lighting, it kills any ambience
that is possible.
I do enjoy the food, it's quite good and constentent
This was the worst holiday buffet I have ever had. The service horrible, the food choices didn’t even belong together. My husband returned from the buffet with a piece of prime rib and a roll.
We had the Thanksgiving buffet. The food was good and they kept it well stocked. Table service was not as good but we still had a good experience and will likely go again. The price was very good compared to other buffets in the Seattle area, most starting at $79. I would like to try them for normal dinner service.
We went last year and thought that it was great, my mom want to go back. It was ok this year. The turkey was great and so was the roast beef. Sides where a different matter, green beans where undercooked and mash potatoes said they where garlic, but I could not find any. The only side that stood out was the stuffing, it was moist and well seasoned. Lastly, the Nat's where bad, in the food when you got back to your table.
The service was excellent, and the food was fairly good. I ordered the salmon and it was not up to my expectations. The rest of the food was pretty good.
Husband's Caesar and Steak were wonderful. My House salad was lacking. It was missing cucumbers when it was presented, but still not an impressive presentation. The Ciopino was not right. The seafood was cooked well, but the "broth" was just a ladel of marinara. The salmon still had the skin on it and only 2 of the 6 clam shells had an actual clam. But the service was on point (especially the bartender who stepped in to help us.)
Exceeded all our expectations! The food was perfectly prepared, well presented and tasty. The young lady that served us was efficient, friendly and made the evening more enjoyable. Thank you!
Wait staff was friendly and attentive. I only said moderate noise because there was a large group in the lobby celebrating a class reunion. Otherwise, it waould have been very quiet and cozy.
Amazing cioppino. I want the recipe. Great service at the bar.
