Dinner for a group of 10 execs and everything was great.
Great People and amazing food!
We are from San Francisco and love seafood. I must admit that I had the best Cioppino at Basile. We will plan to come to Basile when in Boston. Great food and service.
A hidden gem in Boston for great Italian experience. Food was great. I loved my Shrimp Carbonara. The Basile Super Tuscan wine was great. Service was friendly and prompt. They create a great environment for the overall Italian experience. We will be back for more.....
Food was good
Service was good
This restaurant's food is good, but the service is horrible.
They tried to scam us by adding 20% tip to the total (without telling/warning us that tip was already added). Once we paid our bill (mobile card reader brought to our table) they had the audacity to ask for additional tip (up to 30% for a total of 50% tip !!)
We brought the issue to the manager, who didn't help much. He apologized and promised to fix the bill. He still got the bill wrong (had extra items we didn't order). They ended up charging my card twice for the same meal.
Also, we ordered a soufflé when we ordered our food, so our dessert would be ready when we are done eating. We had to wait about an hour after finishing our main course for our soufflé.
4 stars for quality of food
3 stars for value (little overpriced for the quality/ambiance)
Zero -1 stars for service
As much we liked their food, we are not going back to this restaurant ever again.
The food was terrible. Service was terrible, language barrier with waitress as well as her understanding of menu items. To pay check, it’s paperless and waitress stood there to collect device at once. Would not recommend.
Great restaurant for a romantic date.
Great meal, in a lively setting with friendly staff. Make sure to look at the check for a tip added in, while the menu states it is added for a party of four, ours was added in for a party of two, and the payment machine still defaults to normal tipping levels.
Food is okay ambiance is nice. We enjoyed our dinner but weren’t over whelmed by any means
Everything we ordered was delicious and well presented. Service was friendly and efficient. The bolognese rigatoni was exceptional and the claim that it is the best in Boston may be legitimate.
Very friendly service with great food
Lovely place. A nice find on a dreary Monday night.
They made my sisters 21st bday a great time! Sam was awesome! The hostess, I don’t know her name, was so sweet and put up with me changing the reservation time like 4 times! All around was a great time!
The Indian inspired ravioli was wonderful, the service smart and attentive, and the experience was great.
The food was good and service was very good overall. Room got very noisy when it was getting busy. Dinner rolls seemed store bought. The app., street corn was nothing special. The desserts were very pricey and sounded better than they tasted. But the main courses were very good, steak and lamb chops.
From first glass of wine and delicious Burrata salad until our great dessert, the evening was wonderful for my wife and me. The restaurant was full, even the outdoors patio, but we were comfortably spaced. For a change in our usual menus, we both decided on pastas as our main course. My wife had a creamy shrimp Ravioli and I had a beef-based Rigatoni Bolognase -- both of them as excellent as you would expect from this fine Italian restaurant. For dessert we shared a generously-sized dessert of chocolate and nuts and cream that must have had a name, but was delicious with or without a label!
We now go to Basile for dinner about once every other week.
Great neighborhood restaurant for Italian experience. We are vegetarian and happy to see good selection of vegetarian dishes including the Chef Tasting. Food and Service were great and everything is reasonably priced.
We started with the house Basile wine, which were great at a great price point. We ordered the Antipasti Platter, which had great Arancini and Calamari coupled with Salads. Good to share at the table. We ordered Crabmeat Ravioli, which was also exceptional. The Lamb Chops were perfectly cooked and presented. Staff was friendly and nice. We will be back soon to try other dishes.
For almost all of our meal we were the ONLY party inside the restaurant. They seated us near the bar, right next to the door to the patio, a fairly busy avenue of travel, basically the busiest and noisiest place in the house. We had to beckon staff on 3 different occasions, even though there was at least one server at the bar the whole time we were there. The sorbet dessert promised 3 scoops, only 2 arrived. The meals were very good to excellent. We've been there before and enjoyed the experiences but this was not a good night for the 5 of us.
One of fine dining restaurants in Boston. Better than going to North end, if you are into quality Italian food. Great selection of authentic Italian dishes and Italian wines. We loved the Veal Chop and Lobster risotto. Will recommend.
My last name is the same as the name of the restaurant - Basile. We are Italian and decided to check out the restaurant. We were pleasantly surprised. Great Italian restaurant in Boston. The set-up and music reminded me of my days in Florence. Must check this place out.
The food was average, but was super overpriced. By 6:30 pm, the lights were dimmed so much, that it was hard to see. I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone. For the prices they charge, the food, portions, service, and / or atmosphere should have been much more special. Unfortunately, none of the above was all that special.
Absolutely wonderful- service, food, ambiance. We did the Date Night Package - which was priced great for all you get!
Visiting from out of town and had a Father - Son dinner at this restaurant. My mistake as this place has no kids menu but they accommodated my suggestions for a meal for a 6 y/o.
Server forgot my app and initial drink, waiting on too many tables at the same time for one person. Food was OK. This place is more of a date night spot where the food would be secondary to the company across the table.
Had wondeful time at Basile. Delicious Scallops and great Lamb Chops. Good selection of wines and cocktails. Loved everything!
Nice restaurant in Boston. We enjoyed great Italian food with Italian music playing in the background. We loved the special Surf-n-Turf. Reasonably priced and great selection of wines.
Perfect for romantic evening. Date Night expereince was great. Lovely food and wine with my beautiful girlfriend. We will be back.
We ended up getting the date night special. The four course dinner was really a treat. Our Server took care of everything. We just relaxed and enjoyed the dinner choices with the house red wine. Loved the experience and the company on our special date night.
Everything about our dinner for two was excellent. My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful arugula salad, followed by chicken parmigian for her and lamb chops for me. Our shared dessert was a delicious tiramisu. The Italian Montepulciano and Cabernet Sauvignon wines were excellent.
Great service that did not rush our meal.
Of course, we'll come again, probably soon!
All wonderful. Except deafening. Ask for a table off in a corner if you want quieter.
Great dinner, very good food, good service, pleasant atmosphere
It was a great birthday dinner. Efficient service, delicious food as always. Happy to get our usual table.
The service was great. They anticipated every little thing. We ate outside. It was quiet and perfect for what we wanted. The food was good, but I wouldn’t call it great.
Delicious food, generous portions, perfect outdoor dining. Wish we lived in Boston to be able to return often! Very friendly service.
Amazing food and cocktails. we had a business dinner and everyone was pleased. Food and service was great. Great place for business dinners. We will be back soon.
Great Italian restaurant in Boston. We live in Florida and glad we found a restaurant with great food and service in Boston.
