Basalt Restaurant @ Dukes Lane Market and Eatery
The word BASALT evokes strength, solidity, and a sense of place… a reference to our Hawaiian roots. BASALT reflects our indigenous grey rock, formed by lava and formed by fire. It is the bedrock of our Islands and the unifying organic thread between our diverse communities. It is this underlying force that informs our purpose here at BASALT.
BASALT is a Waikiki restaurant that embraces our local Island culture. We salute our life-long heritage of multiculturalism. And yet, we love to introduce unique ways to look at local cuisine by introducing International flavors and unusual pairings to intrigue and delight our guests.
BASALT’s aim is to involve you, excite you, and captivate you. Our Asian-influenced Global cuisine will consistently remind you of why the Hawaiian Islands are a special place of Aloha… to be, experience, and love.
Tasty food, awesome service
Wonderful, Fantastic and Consistently Delicious! I can’t say enough about what a wonderful time my guests and I had at Basalt. Everything was cooked to perfection from the New York steaks to the Miso Butterfish to the seafood combo. The appetizers were cooked just right (pork belly buns, Adobe chicken wings, lobster bisque, etc). The service was top notch - we were never forgotten by staff and checked on regularly. The live music was a very nice touch - and the ambiance was relaxing. We will definitely be back to Basalt soon.
I was happy with my choice. i found it on line and had no one refer it. close to the action yet quiet outside where we sat. inside was noisy with live music. food was very good with a mixed selection. i was happy to patronize
Great service, good food, and surprisingly quiet at lunchtime today!
Service was great here! We got the loco moco, ahi sandwich, sunburst drink, and passion lemonade and finished it all (we usually cannot finish a meal). My favorite was how crispy the fries were. Would definitely come back.
Great as usual, best brunch in Town!
Fabulous experience and service! Food was unbelievably delicious! Great night in Honolulu
I had the fixed menu, lobster bisque, miso black cod and chocolate cake. I think it is a bit too pricey for the amount and quality but maybe the rest of the menu might be more appealing.
Basalt offered a prix fixe menu option which we took advantage as it included a starter, main dish, and dessert for a really good price compared to regular menu items. We thought the mixed drinks were okay but a little pricey. Our waiter, CJ, was attentive and provided good service.
This restaurant sits to the side of an upscale specialty food and bevarage market which took away from the ambiance of a nice dining experience. We were early diners so the restaurant was empty when we arrived and was slowly starting to fill as dinner progressed. Basalt had live music which we did enjoy. Overall we would recommend this restaurant.
We didn't realize just how enjoyable our brunch would be at Basalt. The food was prepared flawlessly and the service by our waitress named Thuy was the best ever. We will be back soon!
Very good food, nice friendly service especially the manager. Definitely will return.
Too noisy. Right next to a burger joint in same open space.
Food was good and win was fresh
Brunch gathering for friends and family; beautiful day to enjoy good food. Waiter was attentive and accommodating.
Service great, food good! Think lighting could have been less bright for a better dining experience.
Went here to celebrate Valentines Day. Glad we did! Service and food were excellent. We went with the Prix Fixe dinner menu, and at 48 per person was a steal. The ny steak and desserts were excellent. Will definitely recommend this to family and friends, and will definitely be back.
Food was good overall. Good lobster bisque. Great mixed green salad. Wife's prime rib was very tasty. But my macadamia nut crusted Mahimahi was bland because the sauce and capers didn't add much to the normally bland flavor of the Mahi. But it was cooked perfectly and the starch and veggies were excellent. Oh, I really liked the carbon black bread rolls. In fact, my other complaint was that the server did not bring more bread rolls as he said that he would.
But I would definitely go back for another dinner. The prices were reasonable for a fine dining restaurant in Waikiki. Service was good (except for my bread rolls), and the live music was a plus.
Staff are friendly. We had a great time. Loved tender beaf and crunchy shrimp.
Food is excellent and service is good. Outside seating is not always relaxing as there is a lane right next where delivery trucks pass by.
pretty good brunch! very good service! I enjoyed the prime rib breakfast the best. The fried rice was ok.
The restaurant has a nice selection of choices but there were 3 in our party and all three meals were bland and tasteless. Things like salt and sweetener had to be requested multiple times.
This is not a restaurant that I would recommend or return to
Love their dinner and happy hour and wanted to try breakfast. One of my fav spot to dine for any occasion!
Server was not listening our order and not checking us. Not good service
Love the live music
Great food, great service, pricey, but standard for Honolulu
We had great service and great food. The items are both creative and tasty. We will go again!
The food was great, me and my friends really enjoyed our dishes! This restaurant is underrated, everytime I've been there I had a good experience.
Very good as usual!
Always great. Celebrated a Birthday this time. Cake simply delicious!
The restaurant is in an area with a group of retail food eateries like a bakery, gelato, rotisserie chicken/pizza. It’s a little confusing of a configuration. The wait at the host stand was somewhat long.
I love dining here for brunch & dinner. The food is always delicious, the cocktails refreshing, the coffee is smooth, and the staff is friendly. But more importantly, I think, is the atmosphere. It is open and welcoming. Basalt is a lovely oasis from a harried day that allows you to breathe for a moment and just be you.
Very nice restaurant
First time dining, casual but nice ambiance with live music. Little bit on the salty side on some of the dishes, but overall I will definitely come back and will also recommend. I loved the cocktails as well!
Delicious! Highly recommended.
Colton was fantastic. Food was beautifully presented and delicious!
Great find in Waikiki! Good food, casual ambiance and not too noisy to hear each other talk.
We really enjoyed this restaurant. I always have the miso butterfish, And they have a wonderful wine menu.
Great place, live music and great food.
As two women we were seated by the kitchen door. When we protested we were the seated outside with the smell of pot and garbage. 5 minutes later two men we seated indoors (as we requested) at a nice table. We had reservations. We decided to leave with eating dinner. I was not going to purchase overpriced food from this place.
