Basalt is definitely one of the best restaurants in Honolulu, the quality and taste of the food along with the great service make it a great option for a special occasion or for those who seek great food. I will definitely come back again. Highly recommended!

Decent food. But overpriced for what it is. Not impressed by the menu selection. This is good for its location because it is right downtown but you get the downside of it being next to a busy street and the outdoor views are cars driving by a back alley near a parking garage. Drinks were delicious. Would come back for that. But be aware you’ll spend $16-20 per drink. It is Waikiki after all…

The service was friendly but inefficient. We had to flag another waiter to finally place our order. Do not order the Loco Moco: the beef was as tough as shoe leather. The macadamia crusted fish was delicious however. And so was the coconut cake for dessert.

Excellent customer service - from the receptionist to my waiter. Wait staff was very patient and made great recommendations in both drinks and entrees. Restaurant was very clean and welcoming. Food came out quicker than expected and was presented well. Would definitely return here on our next trip to Hawaii.

The food and service was very good. Our group of 5 with a wheelchair was situated in a good location. The avocado toast, Loco Moco, and vegetarian pasta was very good. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Fish was undercooked when returned second time reheated still undercooked, prime rib was cold and tough. Would not recommend the food, service was attentive and apologetic but food was unsatisfactory for such a high price.

Service was great. Atmosphere was good. Ordered Prime rib medium rare but got more rare. Chicken wings was okay. I didn't like the Harissa Lime Shrimp ceviche. Pork Bites was good but I think the pork was bit dry in my opinion. Tiramisu and birthday chocolate cake was delicious. We're give it another try again soon.

Real lovely restaurant with amazing staff. They went above and beyond and brought me and my wife a congratulatory cake for dessert as we had just got married and we’re on honeymoon and that made our day and of all the places we ate it was the best restaurant by far.

This was our first time dining here, but won’t be our last. The food was delicious—Gochujang Duck Bites and Beef Fries were spectacular. Service from Trillion was exceptional! Very satisfying experience!

We went to celebrate my bf birthday. The waitress was a trainee. Had did an excellent job! She was warm and welcoming. The got our food and drinks quick. We ordered Loco moco, charcoal pancakes and smoked salmon eggs Benedict and to our surprise a complimentary cake for my bf's birthday. Everything was the delicious, the only thing we'd like to comment was the wagyu patty in the Loco Moco was a bit over well done with made the patty tough. But overall good flavor! Would go back again, food great and good customer service! I can't remember the waitresses name. We had brunch on 8/6/23 @ 10:30am. Please give her a shout out!

Highly recommended! Start with Duck Empanadas they’re delicious. Cocktails are well crafted, probably the best we’ve had in Honolulu. Nice job on the Ahi dish as well. You can’t go wrong when dining at Basalt.

Great service. Food was average. The noise level was high. Crowded restaurant with maximum tables placed close together. Traffic from outside patio was very loud. Glad we did not choose to sit outside.

Ben, our server was wonderfully attentive and informative, the food was fabulous (omg the beef fries!)… my only complaint- is that I wish that the open table app hadn’t let us make a reservation at 8h45 pm if the kitchen was going to close shortly thereafter. We were meeting a friend that we hadn’t seen in a long time, and again, no fault of the staff (they are following the rulers set by the establishment) but it did feel rushed. We selected our starters before our friend even got there so that it would get in before the kitchen closed, and then instant he sat down, we had to quickly order the main dishes. Again, no fault on the servers’ part- probably last seating option should be sooner than what is shown open on open table. When we wanted a second cocktail- the bar was closed. :( The moment we were done with dessert we were informed that we had to go as the Duke’s front door was going to be locked. To be fair, it wasn’t solely us, instantly every table had to go- it just seemed rather dramatic and evacuation-like. :(
