Barton G. The Restaurant - Miami Beach Ratings and Reviews
It's extremely loud inside the restaurant which makes it hard to hear the people at your table. There is very little space in between tables to walk through without being bumped by service staff or patrons at the restaurant. The servers who help the waiters some speak very little English so you can not speak with them.
The presentation is outstanding which makes the restaurant. We went for our sons Birthday the desert came with no lit candle or the waiters singing Happy Birthday.which was very disappointing though they new it was his Birthday.
We did get seated within 5 minutes of our reservation which was great .
After reading several reviews about bad service and food not up to par I was a little hesitant about going... and I would’ve missed out on one awesome experience. The service, from the hostess to the server, everyone went out of their way to make sure that we were pleased. The waiter was very knowledgeable of the foods and the wines, in fact I went with his recommendation and was very satisfied with the choice. Unfortunately we were both too full for dessert so we had to miss that part of the experience but the appetizer, lobster pop tarts was to die for! I would definitely recommend this place and the entire experience to anyone that’s on the fence based on other people reviews.
Start with pleasant surprise at how elegant this place is...
Based reviews of the “food show” I expected more of a Cheescake Factory ambiance ..it is not
Beautiful outdoor seating ...great staff ..service is top notch ..only had lobster Mac (excellent ) , popcorns shrimp (average ) and short ribs .(very good)
Huge portions so this was more than enough for me and my teen daughter.
Presentations are indeed cool/novel
Nitro drink very cool presentation but once novelty is over ..its just and expensive average drink
They some how pull off what could be a hokey experience and make is elegant and fun
Great special event place and if I was back with a first time visitors would do again
Food was terrible !!!! We were a party of four, the bill was over $500 and the food had Zero flavor. Believe me its not the price that was a concern , it was the quality of the food. A meal at Dennys would have tasted better ( although i have never eaten there). Everyone told us we need to go there at least once, dont listen... its not even worth going there at all. The salmon was greasy and the Vegis were flavorless . To add insult to injury, even the coffee tasted like dishwater. We were warned by the Concierge at the Hotel we were staying at that the food was so/so but it was a fun experience. We were underwhelmed by the experienced and the food just left us all with indigestion.
The creativity of the presentation of each meal was magnificent, however the food was not very tasty, I had better salmon at Tony Roma for half the price and the broccolini stem were rubbery.. I won't even mention the appetizer, bucket of bones..the ribs were huge and greasy..the wings were not fried well. We decided not to have a $50 dessert. Therefore, if you like to take pictures of your food, great place, but if you actually want tasty food for the price, not the place.
The restaurant itself it's nice. It wasn't as updated as expected and the "presentation" materials were kinda of falling apart. We arrived there (thank god early) and we're standing in a LINE for 10 minutes to be able to get through to the host. They took us AROUND by the outside of the restaurant to a second floor (through very uncomfortable staircases)- it was a walk to get there from the main section which ruined the purpose of eating at "BARTON G" but besides that food was excellent, service was prompt and of course, small portions at an expensive cost but good experience overall (small tables - not a lot of space, chairs and tables were dirty...) it was Valentine's Day so I can't complain, it was a busy day for them.
Horrible reception/host process. Host person seemed unsure about the seating system, and took 15 mins to find reservation and provide seating. Ambiance was of a very bad Vegas casino. Food was mediocre and way overpriced (deserts were $40 to $70 🙄). I would never come here again and recommend you don't waste your time or money.
Very impressive presentation and display of food, BEST restaurant I have EVER been to, Everything was fantastic and spectacular, the only thing I didn't like was the VALET service, that needs improvement but as far as the restaurant all thumbs up!!! A+++++++++++ All the way. The food was amazing, the lobster MAC & CHEESE best I ever had in my life, the Lobster POP tarts amazing and the steak , simply out of this world!!!! Thanks to my mom for recommending this place, WE loved it.
A little crowed, maybe because of the occasion. Way too expensive for what you get. Be ready to stop at a pizza place right after. The food was just ok. We had the lobster mac and cheese... uhnn nothing special about it and it is a small portion. By the way, I left some. The NY Ribeye was not that tender. Maybe the filet mignon would have been better. That, I will never know. The Budalicious drink was probably the best I had. The Dollar Bill dessert was OK. It is a place more to go and take pictures rather than eat a great dinner. And no, I will not go again, specially after seeing the damage!
I went to celebrate a birthday, we were the first ones in the restaurant at 6:30 and it was a Tuesday so pretty empty but it made the service excellent and the food tasted amazing especially with the crazy presentations that each plate comes with. Definitely will be going again, great food with 5 star presentation. 5/5 don’t think twice about going, just make that reservation!!!
They treated us like a third class citizen and ignored us several times despite how many times we flagged a waitier down for water and to take our order. After 20 mins and getting the order of others who came after us , they finally gave us water and left for 10 mins and came back to take our order. They are very selective who they want to cater too and leave for last when it shouldn’t be like because the gratitude is automatically taken out from the bill. I been to the one in L.A a few times and their service there was exceptional so I was expecting the same. I felt very embarrassed and humiliated.
Love this place. It is very expensive and I think we (two people) could have been fine with two appetizers, a few sides and dessert. We split the surf and turf (enough for three but it is listed for one and normally would have a sharing charge unless you get a side). We didn't ask the price and it was around $150! The lobster was huge and the filet was a large portion. We didn't have room for dessert and I would have loved to have gotten that.
Took my daughter and my family last night to celebrate her 16th birthday. She had been wanting to go for a long time, so I figured it would be perfect for this special occasion. Didn’t know what to expect, just knew it was expensive. We were sat outside which had a heater, that with the weather was perfect. We started with nitrogen infused drinks, alcohol for us virgins for her and the grandmas. We didn’t order any appetizers just entrees which was a good idea cause each dish was very filling.... we we’re all stuffed, that we had no room for dessert. I had the lobster Mac n Cheese, the hub had the short ribs, grandmas had the chicken and crab cakes and the birthday girl had the popcorn shrimp. The presentation was phenomenal, very impressed and the food was delicious. Yes it’s pricey but worth it for special occasions. I would definitely go again.
