Burger nicely rare as ordered. Fish and chips tasty, not greasy, though cod size a bit stingy in view of the size of the burger. Both plates had fries that were exceptional.
Great staff
Buffalo cauliflower was a revelation !
Wonderful service, Katharine was attentive to every need! All staff were great, food & drink were all carefully planned, all delicious.
Appetizers were good and menu has good options. Service wasn't the best. Our server was rude and kept rushing us. She stood over my shoulders while I signed the receipt which was invasive.
Very loud restaurants. It's more of a bar than a restaurant. I could barely hear the person sitting across from me. We sat there for about 15-18 mins before we met our waiter. The drinks were fine. The food was another story. Lacks flavor, any zest. The fries were cold and old. The chicken sandwich and fish and chips were just okay. I don't recommend and would probably never go back. Too many restaurants in the city that are better.
Service was excellent! Being a tourist from New York, the food was good. Very easy given our location. Would recommend highly! its like eating in a Times Square restaurant. No complaints!
Lovely atmosphere, terrific food, and great service. My friends and I very much enjoyed our time there!
We went there Friday night for drinks and had a great experience at the bar. Good service, friendly bar staff, good happy hour prices. Decided to try it for brunch on Sunday. Great food but it took forever for us just to get the waiter’s attention. He finally came over and although he was very friendly, it took forever to get our drinks and once we got our food he never came back to check and see if we wanted refills or if everything was all right with our meal. The people next to us got there after us and he walked right past them even though they had their menus out and obviously should’ve been asked if they wanted drinks. The couple behind us waited forever for him to come and take the bill with the credit card. The customer finally put it on the bar to get someone’s attention. I would go back there again because the food really was delicious but the one waiter needs to work on his customer service skills! Not good!
We needed a place to eat good food before a show and our original plan was set all akimbo when the ferry from Angel island didn’t work at 3:15. This place had great food (vegetarian could even find a few things) and the server was nice. The hostess was not there when we arrived and seemed less than diligent about her duties, but the rest was great. I would recommend.
Food was mediocre, waiter was nice but tries to overcharge is on beer we did not drink. They ran out of 2 beers we tried to order. Ambiance was nice. Will not be returning.
We had a fabulous experience and it was the perfect dinner for our engagement!
Perfect pre theater spot for dinner. Something for everyone in the menu and a lovely drink/beer list
Had a wonderful experience here while waiting for 2nd part of Harry Potter play! Food was tasty, service quick and friendly and we appreciated the theater discount.
Good place for beer and bar food. Pretty crowded on a Tuesday night, reservations are recommended. Took a bit of time for our server to show up. The food - veggie burger and salmon showed up quickly. We asked for water and had to remind them, which came towards the end of the meal.
A great spot to enjoy drinks and a meal before Part 2 of the Harry Potter play!
Yummy food, great cocktail. Very good service within short walking distance to the theater.
The salmon we had was delicious. But it is mostly a bar menu so "non-bar" food choices are limited. That said, it's a fun place and a good choice for that area of downtown.
Great food, good drink selection and a fun atmosphere. It was the perfect place to grab dinner before a show.
Great food and service. Loud, but the Niners were playing a playoff game...
Great spot to eat after our show at the Curran Theater!
The waiter made this a hard place to like. Avoided eye contact when we were looking for him and told us to hold on when wanting to get more drinks. The food was great but definitely need to hire more people.
Staff was friendly; however, it was very noisy for those mature people who are hard of hearing as well as seeing. I had a hard time seeing the menu. I had to tilt the menu toward the very small dim lit votive candle and I had to tell the server that we would like to order dessert. Other than that we really enjoyed the meal and service. We will definitely return back if we are staying at the Hotel Nikko.
BH was convenient to Curran theatre; however, they try to seat too many at the high tables. We were bumping into other customers on either side of us. When asked to be moved, they stated they had other reservations and could not move us. The service seemed rushed and we felt pushed to order quickly. The front part of the restaurant is charming, not the back. The Beyond Meat Burger was yummy.
Horrible service with average at best food
Happy hour menu pretty solid if you’re only eating lightly. Don’t expect to make a full meal just from HH, and you’ll be just fine. Good house brews on tap
Great quick meal after a long flight. The crew was hungry and everyone found something to eat and overall everyone enjoyed their meal. The price was more than expected for 4 soft drinks, a Mac and Cheese app (definitely high marks) 2 burgers, a chesesteak sandwich and a salad
We visited on Christmas evening. The atmosphere was fun & vibrant. The staff was very friendly & the food was delish! Try the fried pickles for sure!
We were looking for a place to eat on Christmas Day and Bartlett was one of a few restaurants that were open. They were very busy but our server was great, we didn’t feel rushed and she was very attentive and friendly.
The food was good. The steak salad was yummy. The salmon with pearl barley was a little under seasoned. Waitstaff was very kind. It read Christmas and I was convinced by a friend to choose Bartlett Hall over a different restaurant with the prefix menu. I had hoped to be seated at a low top table. They chose to put us at a hightop. It’s not a big deal but it is a preference and I had asked for it on the reservation.
We always appreciate when restaurants are open during the holidays, especially if we are travelling. We were looking for an everyday place that would be lively, good food, good drink, and good cheer—Bartlett Hall delivered on all points. It was bustling—and the entire staff bustled around efficiently and effectively. The hostess and our waiter were exceptional—welcoming and taking good care of us. Yes, dining in San Francisco is expensive. Given this consideration, I would say this is a good value.
Second time to Bartlett Hall as it's on A.C.T.'s list of dining partners. Visited post-"Christmas Carol" for a late lunch. I was seated right away, even though I arrived early and had an unscheduled dining companion in tow, so that was much appreciated.
Both my friend and I enjoyed our food choices (fish&chips and salmon respectively)...I would rate this establishment's food as good, basic, non-foodie-level options. Although I've seen the service criticized on this site, our server was prompt and friendly and gladly brought my friend a wine taste to try before she ordered.
And the 20 percent discount for A.C.T. ticket holders is very helpful.
Food was awful and too pricey for what we got. Hugely disappointed by this restaurant- we have 4 meals and all were fair. Don’t bother
The only reason this place survives is its location, location, location. Definitely not a place you go to for good food.
Service was super bad.... even ordered early ... might have been the kitchen's fault ... nonetheless ... it was not a good experience.
We had dinner here during the break between part one and two of Harry Potter. The burgers were amazing! Service great
Server was inattentive and it was not even busy
Great hotspot! Needed a reservation during intermission at the Curran, which we had.
I have a shellfish allergy and they were very thoughtful on what I could eat. The waitress was great. And the beers were some of the best I’ve had. Order the lava cake!
Our server was so awesome! She was slammed with Harry Potter and the Cursed Child play opening day crowd and still was able to get us our food on time and in a friendly manner!
