   Barrows House is one of the best restaurants around, and I always try to grab a meal there when in the Manchester/Dorset area.

   Jamie was wonderful !! ❤️❤️ we sat in the bar area which was our first time eating in that part … it was a little louder than the restaurant area!  It was the first time we brought our friends there. The service and the meal was delicious. I still like the restaurant area better, but there was an event there tonight.  Still cannot beat the food or the service. Five Stars ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️

   We celebrated our 51st wedding anniversary at Barrow’s House. When we first looked at the menu, we were worried that it was too oriented to meat for us However, the server guided us thru, starting with a stunning and delicious nacho sashimi . Followed by a lobster spatzle and an unexpectedly delicious and varied mushroom pasta. We topped off the evening with no dessert selection as we were stuffed.

   Food and presentation was excellent. So wonderful my husband wanted to come back again the next night. We will be back when we we visit again for sure.

   Terrific food, but fair service. All dishes were excellent and perfectly prepared. But our waiter was indifferent and oddly unengaged. Either he needs a new vocation or more training. His service really took away from our overall experience of dining.

    We had a very nice dinner. The big room in the front is where our table was. The tables for 2 are very tight. The room is loud with big groups and lots of family’s with children. I would ask to be seated elsewhere. The service was slow to start - it took about 15 min to order a cocktail and another 15 to get it. Server said the bar was slammed. Our food was very good. We had the burrata appetizer which was delicious - the crostini were too thinly sliced they fell apart and need to be a little thicker. Both main meals were excellent. My husband had the lobster and I had the scallops. We ordered a martini that was not served in a martini glass which was disappointing- again the server said the bar was slammed and they ran out of glasses. Hopefully just a crowded night - we will return as the food was very good.
