Located in Historic Downtown Goldsboro, NC, Barrique is a chic casual restaurant with a lovely heated and pet-friendly back patio. We focus on quality Angus steaks, locally sourced meats, produce and Italian fare. We offer a wide selection of wine, and unique barrel aged whiskeys along will our full bar.

Barrique, being the French term for wine barrel features two levels of dining and entertainment. Join us in Goldboro's only Speak Easy, the 18th Amendment Lounge.

We were awarded the Diners Choice for Ambiance and the Taste of Wayne Best Appetizer Award in 2019!

    We went for our anniversary. The food was nicely prepared and flavorful. The staff was knowledgeable on the wine selections. Overall excellent experience.

    First of all why I had to make reservations I don't know. Movistar was in there. But service was slow. The food was terrible. Everything was burned badly. The salads and all the food is prepared on a grill who does that. The last said they put the food on the grill and then the oven. It's already burned now you drying it out. I got charged even though everything was terrible. They automatically take out tips. She claim she was giving me a discount but didn't. My card was charged three times. She went in claiming she was taking more off the bill but actually she was taking more money off my card. It's a lie they are robbing you when you use your card. My account still isn't right and I demand my money before I go through the bank and others to get it. I need my money back on my card. I was there Saturday night!! The lady took my name and number but I haven't heard anything from her. I need somebody to contact me as soon as possible because this is ridiculous. My card was charged three times and after that a extra $8 was taken out too. I sat there on the phone with the bank because of this. The owner claim it was a hold but it really wasn't that was a lie and she knows it.

    The food was excellent and attractively plated. Cocktails were creative and delicious. While we chose to eat in the quieter downstairs, I would have preferred to not have seen the kitchen washing dishes. I highly recommend this restaurant.

    Service was very good, but the food was slightly underwhelming. The green beans were cold,the potatoes were raw. I've been and the past and the food was quite good so maybe it was just a off night .

    Entrees were not worth the money, everything was not cooked very well. Appetizers were amazing and so was the atmosphere. Best just to get drinks and apps.

    We were seated very quickly as a party of 3. There were hardly any other patrons other than two other parties of 2. I ordered the fried green tomatoes as an appetizer which came out about 15 minutes after ordering (we ordered the appetizer and main meals at the same time) and they were delicious! However, it took a little over an hour to get the rest of our food. Two of us ordered steaks and one of us ordered the shrimp and grits. After waiting for about 45 minutes, we asked our waitress about how long our food would be. She said they were short a chef so the food was taking longer than normal. Our steaks were slightly over cooked (which isn’t a big deal to me), the shrimp were over cooked, and the grits were grainy. It seemed to take forever to get our checks and boxes, as well. This is not the first time I have been here and this is not the first time it has taken this long for food. I don’t think I will be offering up this restaurant as a choice for an outing anymore.

    Let me start by telling you I have never posted a bad review on here for any place I’ve visited. My experience here was very disappointing. The Bloody Mary is literally just tomato juice and vodka with a cold half piece of bacon, no spice or real flavor to it at all. We ordered a simple appetizer (croissants & strawberry butter) and didn’t receive it until after our main course was out with no explanation & the croissants were cold. My friends shrimp and grits would have been great, but it came out very cold. My breakfast burger was way over cooked, ordered medium rare and it came out well done. I also asked if they could do a regular bun instead of the English muffin before I ordered and was told they could do that. Then my food came out with an English muffin, and they decided to tell me at that point that they didn’t have any hamburger buns rather than before when I asked so I could have ordered something else. The potatoes that came with my breakfast burger tasted like they had been drowned in veggie oil and heated in a microwave. We drove from Greenville, so it was a 45 minute drive and we were both honestly very very disappointed in the food and the service.

    We were greeted by one of the owners at the door and she gave us the history of the restaurant. We chose to eat dinner upstairs in the lounge area. It was a little noisy as there was a group of guys at the bar laughing. All the waitress staff was super nice and knowledgeable. The food was good. A pricey little dinner, but exactly what we were looking for as a romantic dinner for 2.

    Great location and ambiance. Love the bar upstairs. I understand restaurants are short staffed these days. Seems that we were a victim of that scenario. Otherwise, great place. The food is outstanding. The menu is diverse. We love it.

    The ambiance was relaxing overall. Our table wasn’t level and rocked terribly so the waitress kindly put something under the leg to stabilize it. The water served out of a glass bottle tasted like city water, wasn’t very cold, and wasn’t served over ice. They were out of sweet tea (it wasn’t very late) and then charged almost $3 PER small glass of soda. The stuffed mushrooms were absolutely delicious but there were only 2 of them on the plate and for the price, I would’ve definitely expected at least 4. The green beans were still extremely crunchy and hadn’t been cooked much which isn’t my thing. The steak was pretty good, definitely not the best I’ve had though, especially for the price. They didn’t have steak sauce, but you could pay to add garlic butter, and some other fancy options. I don’t always use steak sauce but I felt my steak tasted pretty bland and was a bit dry. Many of the sides offered as alternatives to the sides that come with the steaks cost a significant amount to add on. We added on the roasted potatoes and macaroni and cheese and they were really good and the portions were large. It was nice to go somewhere new and relaxing for our Valentines date night but it didn’t knock my socks off.

    They really need a full time bartender! Went for Valentine’s Day dinner and had to wait 20 minutes for first mixed drink . Told waitress when she finally brought my drink to go ahead and put in order for second drink . Second drink took over 25 minutes ! I have noticed on most occasions when dining here that the wait staff has to stop and go make the drinks if you order a mixed drink . This just works the waitstaff to death and causes delays in getting your food and drinks . I really like this restaurant because most of the time the food is really good. Levi and his mom ( I think it’s his mom ) are really nice people and I want to continue dining here but time and time again I leave frustrated because I can’t get a drink in a timely manner. They really need to stop having the waitstaff try and tend bar. I got so frustrated last night that I switched to beer because I figured it would be easier on the staff .

    We loved everything about Barrique. We were there for the Valentines menu and I was so impressed! The food was absolutely amazing, our server was so sweet and helpful, and the ambiance was super chic and cozy. We had such an amazing date night and we will definitely be back!

    This was our first time dining at Barrique and we were not disappointed. Beautiful dining area, great service. The stuffed mushroom appetizer and the fried green tomatoes were amazing. Beautifully prepared strip streak, very flavorful garlic mashed potatoes and tasty brussel sprouts. One of the owners took the time to chat with us about the restaurant, their origins and the eclectic wine collection. We will definitely be back!

    Always great ambiance at Barrique Bar. Aside of an amazing staff, the Chefs are exceptional and at times come out to ask how is/was your meal. The owner is down to earth and very pleasant, almost as if you came home for dinner. It’s our favorite date night place.

    Barrique has a great atmosphere for an upscale and sophisticated date night (not in a stuffy way, but relaxed). Loved the exposed brick walls and the food was delicious!

    We have been twice in last 2 weeks . Love the menu and the service . Drink menu is very good too. If you want a nice quiet place to have a meal where you can enjoy the food and service and drinks then this is the place to go to in Downtown Goldsboro.

    Found this place while in town for our daughter's lacrosse tournament. Great atmosphere and even better food. Service was awesome!! Can't say enough those of you who can dine here regularly are very lucky!

    The dishes were mediocre and priced far too high. The service was incredibly slow but the people were so nice and friendly which helped. Looking online at the menu I thought it would be more than it was. Ambience was nice though

    Waited almost two hours for our meal. We were told the chef was recently let go and they were trying to make do with their situation. Unfortunately this was noted to us after we sat down and ordered our food. The waitress was not attentive and didn’t offer additional drinks. The problem with the kitchen should not have been carried over to wait staff. Quite a few main items on the menu were unavailable. Not a great experience and it seemed like the staff expected us to understand their situation instead of them making our experience exceptional.

    Limited staff working very hard to please. Additionally, we made reservation for the downstairs dining room because the steep stairs are an issue for my wife and we were not notified that the lower dining room was closed.
