Barrique is a venue where the local communities can come celebrate life through dining, craft cocktails and wine selections from all over the globe. Barrique, being the French term for wine barrel features two levels of dining and entertainment. We recommend reservations for the dining room. A full menu is also offered upstairs in our casual, but upscale 18th Amendment lounge.
Lunch is offered from 11-2 Wednesday through Friday. An exquisite brunch is offered each Sunday from 10 - 2.
The fried green tomatoes were top notch. The chicken tasted great, but was a little dry. The truffle fries were great, but not very truffle-y. The management staff was amazing, and so was the ambience. Will definitely return.
Nice restaurant. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. It was mother's day so we had the brunch menu. The food was really good. The site said business casual but we did see people there in shorts and tanks. I saw instruments there and will likely try to make it back when they have a bad playing. I'd definitely recommend.
Great food, service, and atmosphere!
Steak was under cooked, chicken dry and over cooked. We showed up as a table of 6 and only one other family was in the restaurant. Poor food quality was not a result of the restaurant being too busy when we ordered. Very beautiful interior, has potential, if they can get better cooks in the back. Cocktails are very good. Would go back for cocktails with friends.
They accommodated our special allergies and made it a wonderful dining experience. We will definitely be back.
Great atmosphere. Elegant dining, cozy bar, and a covered patio. Easy place to spend hours.
New location with top-notch service and great food. The Owner even came out to chat and tell us about his place. He has some great ideas for the future. Highly recommend giving it a try.
Excellent food, attentive service, will definitely come back!
My wife and I visited Barrique and while we do not eat at fine restaurants frequently, we do try to visit high quality establishments as often as we can and on special occasions. I would say that overall, I was somewhat disappointed. The food was good, but not great. For a restaurant of this type to thrive in a place like Goldsboro, every plate has to be exceptional. For me, there are better values that are just as close with food that is just as good.
Food was decent but not what you would expect for the price.
First time at this venue. Small but charming (big city feel) to dining room. Limited menu. Food quality good but not a wow. Seemed very pricey and not good value. Attentive service but no ice for water offered, no bread with dinner.
Portions small for price ($39 for 8 oz filet).
If money no object, nice place. If special occasion and splurging, suggest somewhere else.
What a great fine dining experience! Great food, lovely staff and the atmosphere was well done. Definitely will be back.
We enjoyed our meal at Barrique. I am a total foodie that has eaten at a variety of places across the country throughout my life. I found the service at Barrique to be top notch. Everyone was friendly and made us feel very comfortable and at home. The drink I ordered was the most perfectly mixed drink I have ever had and was well worth the price. I ordered the campanelle seafood du jour pasta and I was not impressed. It was very bland and the little bit of seafood used in it was very cheap (mussels and calamari rings). My husband ordered the pork chop which looked delicious and he said it was. The side of brussel sprouts were delicious and it was enough for us to share. We ended the meal with a crème brulee cheesecake that was to die for! So all in all, I think the menu could use some fine tuning, but we will likely eat there again specifically for the drinks and desserts.
Excellent everything!! Wait staff especially professional and helpful
Wonderful. Great food and service.
Thank you for your very positive review. We are glad you enjoyed your experience and we look forward to seeing you again soon!
Very classy and upscale dining for goldsboro, service was spectacular, and food was great, definitely a great romantic date or anniversary celebration location.
Fantastic new restaurant. I hate that they have been open since September and we just went for the first time. Definitely going back soon.
Thank your for coming in! We are glad you made it in to Barrique and we look forward to seeing you in the future!
We went to Barrique for Sunday Brunch. My husband was thrilled to hear The Beatles playing when we walked in. We enjoyed fresh French pressed coffee as we waited for our meal which was served promptly and professionally. The brunch skillet and shrimp and grits were fresh, well seasoned and perfect in temperature. This was a special occasion and we spent a little more than we normally would, but it was worth every penny.
Wonderful evening at Barrique with friends - the steak, chicken and risotto were really amazing and very nicely presented. Great wine list also. Highly recommended for a special event.
The pork chop and steak we had was excellent. We also enjoyed listening to the house band that played in the bar upstairs.
Great lol fine e in Goldsbore, sat up stairs, was a little drafty by the door.
Bartender was awesome. His ability as a mixologist is something I never would have expected in such a small town. He could easily be working on a large metroplex with his skill set
Ordered the filet medium. It came out cold but everything else was hot. Kitchen corrected and we moved on.
All in all filet was flavorful, but the bartenders personality made it great
My wife & I had a date night at Barrique’s. We had a great meal. The food was delicious, served in a timely manner, and we had an excellent waiter. Can not say enough about how good the food was. All the staff were courteous and professional. We will be visiting again. Great place to eat in downtown Goldsboro.
Went for brunch this past Sunday, 10 Feb and it was awful. We were sat down and the initial introduction was good. Then waited for 10-15 to be asked about drinks and then water was brought to the table and only four of us received water the other four were neglected. Only to receive water another 10-15 minutes later. At that stop, we asked for coffees and only one cup was brought to the table. At that time we asked to get something to eat and placed an order for two breakfast boards. Waited another twenty minutes for four more coffees to show up along with a simple breakfast board. The server was not attentive at all and within an hour we only received poor quality service and neglect. We decided that the ambiance wasn’t worth it anymore. They took the coffees off our bills and charged us still for the mediocre breakfast boards. Went to IHOP and got better service then this place. One of the servers as we were leaving said come back at midnight, “It’s hoping.” No, we wanted brunch at the time our reservations were. This place was a mess. Truly I hope it was just an off day but it was an awful experience and won’t be coming back.
Hello Christine, We want to thank you for choosing to spend your Sunday with us and sincerely apologize for the experience you had. I understand your frustration and can assure you that the server has been let go. That was simply an off day but nobody should be subject to neglect such as that. We would love to have you back to give you the real Barrique experience! If you would consider giving us another try we can assure you that you will leave pleased! Thank you, Owners of Barrique
Amazing food, drink, and service.
Love, love, love Barrique, but drink times are entirely too lengthy. A scotch and water should not take 10 minutes. Our dessert order took about 15 minutes for a slice of cheesecake. While servers are very professional and friendly, the service on drinks and desserts is way too long. Entree times were excellent and our steaks were cooked to perfection. Love the music and coziness, but do not want to sit in the 2 top closest to the door in the winter again. Every time the door opened we were greeted with a blast of chilly air. The wine list surpasses many offered in 5 star restaurants. We are thrilled to have this restaurant in Goldsboro. Barrique fills a gap in the restaurant arena downtown. Eli is incredibly acquainted with fine wine and has excellent taste in his menu selections. Go to Barrique! Save yourself a drive to Raleigh. We have a gem right here in town.
Steak was undercooked but turned out excellent after it was fixed and free desert considering the wrong temp! Would highly recommend!
It's great to have a new fine dining restaurant in Goldsboro. Service was very friendly and excellent. Excellent small menu.
Two of us in our party ordered Seafood Risotto. The flavor was delicious, however, for $25 we each had only 2 pieces of shrimp. I was looking for other seafood as indicated in the dish title.
Loved the food and staff during the inaugural wine tasting event
Intimate restaurant located in a fantastic Southern Downtown area. Our waiter was extremely educated on the food and wine selection. Service was top notch, manager was highly visible, and the food was outstanding. This place is truly a great place to eat no matter what you are in the mood for!
Food was fantastic and totally worth the cost. The staff was friendly and ready to help, and you can tell the all stand by the menu.
New Year’s Eve with special menu was great.
The only negative is that you can tell it’s still a newer restaurant by the slight lack of flow between greeter and waitress when we first arrived. Besides that service was great and they were very attentive.
Food was great with decent portion sizes. Adult beverages were also good.
After dinner head upstairs to the bar/lounge area. Super cool room with great bartenders who aren’t limited to the featured drinks on the menu.
Best restaurant in Goldsboro in a LONG time....nice to be able to go downtown and enjoy a first class meal without having to drive to Raleigh!!
Everything was OUTSTANDING! Food, service, and overall experience was totally worth it!!!
Food and service was fabulous. It’s my new Friday favorite!
This is a brand new, fine dining restaurant in our little town and it is a breath of fresh air! We attended the beer pairing dinner with about 30 other folks. The food was fabulous. The beers were perfect. And the atmosphere was fun! Hubby and I will absolutely be back for a date night dinner!
I went to Barrique a few weeks ago, the food was AMAZING and the service was incredible. With the location of this restaurant and their prices for the area I would expect as much. However I brought two locals to dine after raving about our first experience and unfortunately was a little embarrassed we had raved so much about it. It was almost as if it was a completely different chef. The pork chop was over cooked and dry and steak was practically rare (ordered medium rare). Even the extra $3 steak sauce tasted as if a container of pepper spilled in while making. The entrees claimed to come with two sides and there was barley enough to be considered one side. I understand this is more of a high end/ smaller portion restaurant and I respect that but not even a spoon full of a side seems slightly aggressive. Not to mention the week prior I ordered the exact same dish and the sides were reasonably sized. After being sold on a cocktail recommended by the waitress, she returned to let us know they didn't have any of the liquor left for this drink. Which can be frustrating but certainly happens. Unfortunately on top of that the staff seemed to be overwhelmed to a point they would forget to bring drinks when asked prior for another glass of wine/beer. After looking at the number of people in the restaurant compared to the number of people working there really wasn't much explanation for the franticness of the staff. It seems as if the manager/owner may have been having a confrontation with one of the waitresses and it just didn't seem to be the time and place. With all of this being said I hope when you go to this restaurant your experience is like my first where people were overly welcoming and apologetic if need be. They showed interest in coming by and asking how our experience was and the food was delicious. Two completely different experiences, same restaurant. Its hard to want to spend over $100 on a meal when its a toss up of which service you will receive.
We enjoyed the experience from the moment we walked in to leaving. The staff made us feel welcome and paid attention to every detail. The food was perfect! The wine and whiskey, amazing! Thank you for a wonderfully intimate dining experience!!
Barrique is wonderful. It is so nice to have such a high quality restaurant so close to home. We highly recommend it.
