   I adore Barrio Queen. From the Jalapeño Margaritas to the ambiance, friendly staff, to the always delicious food. One of my favorite restaurants on this side of Maricopa County.

   When our food arrived, my husband’s meal was wrong. The person delivering it said it will take 2 minutes to change it. We waited 15 minutes. I finished my meal as I didn’t want it to get cold. I was done with my meal when my husband asked to speak to a manager. He was barely apologetic and conveyed a demeanor of arrogance that made us feel like we were a nuisance. There was no offer of any compensation, not even an offer for a coupon for a drink or dessert. We’ve never been so rudely treated by a manager. We’ve eaten here several times but this was our last.

   We had a great meal at Barrio Queen. The mole chicken was very good, and the special pulled pork dish was really good. The portions are very generous and the service is good. Good chips and salsa to start. We sat on the patio! Nice night!

   The food was delicious and the drinks were mediocre for the cost. The service is lacking as we had to wait quite a while to be acknowledged and then waited for drinks so long we thought our server left. Our server didn’t return for a long time so we asked for water refills. We wanted to order desert, but our server didn’t return. And when he finally came back, he dropped off the bill instead of asking if we wanted desert. We will not return.

   Server rushed us with drink request. We had to ask for the plates, napkins and silver, but never got them so we took from another table. Weren’t ready to order when asked, but then waited excessively long to finally order. Server lacked graciousness but basically nice person.

   Unfortunately our chicken tinga quesadilla was filled with onions, lacking any chicken or peppers. I told the waitress but we did not get any credit. It would have been nice if the manager would have come over to say something or give us a discount. Won’t be back

   Outstanding food with good service. Outside dining patio overlooks very busy intersection so noise is a valid issue.

    Server was new, not well trained. Service very slow. Had to ask for same things multiple times. Gave incorrect information on menu. Affected dinner choice for out of state guests that didn’t enjoy their food but took care of the tab. Salsa was bland. Sour cream runny. Carne asada tacos were cold but tasted good. That’s the only reason for the 3 stars.
