Barrio - Capitol Hill
Our menu takes a modern approach to Mexican Cuisine, with an emphasis on fresh, seasonal ingredients. To deliver the highest possible quality, we make most of our ingredients on-site, from our fresh tomato salsas to our handmade tortillas to our slow-smoked pork.
Our cocktail and spirits program has been recognized as one of the strongest in the Puget Sound. In addition, we offer an excellent selection of beer and an array of wines (both by the glass and bottle).
Okay experience. Rather empty at lunch time. They did take soup back when I told server it was too salty. 2-1 taco Wednesday is a good deal.
Great food and atmosphere
Great spot for date night. Only feedback: turn down music in booths 😄
I love el Barrio food and the staff was very welcoming. If I had not been at el Barrio before today would have been my last time there... we were there for lunch today and the restaurant was not full. not sure what happened but it took over 1.5houra to get our food out and when we got it it was cold. I brought my family, my mom and my mother in law for what we thought would be great meal. Instead it took almost two hours to get us our food after we ordered. 2/6 plates were warm and the rest almost room temperature. The flavor was good. This was a disaster of a day... not sure what happened in the kitchen..
This was our first visit to Barrio and it will definitely not be our last. The food had such a great combination of flavors and was so well done. We sampled many of the tacos and a few appetizers, my personal favorite was the Roasted Beet Taco...Delicious!
Service was subpar. Could have been because service charges were already included.
There was a hair in my boyfriend’s food unfortunately which put a sour taste in the whole part of 8’s mouths.
Service was marginal and noise level was so loud we could barely talk without yelling. Food was ok to good but greasy and too dark of lighting to really see
Loved the food, service and atmosphere. It was a little loud but tolerable. Would definitely go again and recommend!!
The food was good except the mushroom enchilada it was not the greatest. The seating area we were seated in was very dark and we couldn’t see our food. Overall the food was good and ambience was moderately loud but it’s worth a try. The frose sangria is very good and the guacamole and chips were great!
Went there on NYE. Everything was amazing besides the service. They seemed to want us out the door ASAP besides the fact that they didn’t close until 12. I’ve been there other times and the service was impeccable so I would still recommend...just not for NYE.
Nice table by the window, wonderful server, good food.
I used to love the food here but now find it very inconsistent. On this day, the chips were stale, my salad was undersized in an awkward bowl, and my friend didn’t love their tacos.
Service was not upto par. Took way to long (over 30 min) for us to get our drinks and appetizers...
Great place for drinks and tacos after work (:
It’s obvious the servers feel no need to give good service when gratuity is automatically included at 20%. They showed no desire to be friendly or helpful.
True place is nice and welcoming, food was good but a bit spicy, caveat sweet corn in almost every dish, Mexican food barely used sweet corn, drinks were great and tasty. Server took forever to take our order after we order drinks. Too noisy, almost impossible to have a conversation, this is mainly due to the design of the boots which amplified the sound.
The food was cold for some of us when it arrived. 00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
You have to try the chorizo taco. It was life changing
Spices were perfect.
Super friendly server with just the right amount of attention.
The service was awful. We sat down and didn’t get asked for our orders until almost 30 min after sitting. I will not go back
I would have loved to go...restaurant was closed and not indicated on app!!!
We had a last-minute reservation for a large party of friends home for the holidays. The staff did a great job accommodating last minute for a party of 18+ people. The service was great and they were on top of getting drinks and food out to us quickly.
My mother in law was in town and we wanted to take her some place new. The food was great!
The food was fantastic. The service was spotty. The noise level was pretty high. The lighting where we were was pathetic. We enjoyed the dinner but would have enjoyed it more if the waiters had been just a little more attentive and there was better lighting where we sat (it was brighter in other parts of the restaurant).
service very slow and waiter didn't seem to care. got drink order wrong even though it was pointed to on the menu. mediocre food for the outrageous price. lots of breaking banging and crashing, very noisy.
Another great time with good drinks, good food and good service. Always love dining at Barrio!
Great ambiance and wonderful food. Overall it was a good experience but the restaurant was so loud that it was difficult to have a conversation.
Great service, provided us a quiet business meeting booth. Food was great and the atmosphere was top notch.
My roommate and I went as an end of the week celebration and had a wonderful time! Unfortunately, we were sat next to a rather large party so the noise level was rather high but that is no fault to the restaurant. The food was excellent!
It was a little dark and a little expensive but overall a great / fun / delicious place and we will definitely be going back!
Love the candlelight and hip bar and atmosphere. Our waiter was excellent, even if he forgot our mezcal flight for awhile, since he mastered our complex and many orders very well. The noise level at happy hour was a bit deafening for some. Go after happy hour ends and it's lovely and lively! Food was very good, too much salt in the guacamole, though.
Shishito Peppers are the go-to for starters! With a frozé on the side ;)
Absolutely loved our visit to Barrio - our drinks were delicious - they made a classic marg with a spicy with (muddled jalapeños). We ordered the veggie enchiladas with green sauce and they were amazing along with the fresh quac to start. Definitely check out Barrio if you are in Seattle.
Food took nearly 90 minutes to come out, drink service was slow, and it was SO LOUD!
The server seemed as though we were bothering him with taking too long to order. I’ve worked in service and understand when you’re busy, but customer service goes a long way!
Food was good. Service was AWFUL.
Only thing I didn’t like was the 20% included tip. I usually tip more for good service, but I’d like it to be my choice.
I really like that Barrio has adapted their menu to cater to vegetarians and vegans. The market vegetable tacos with asparagus were outstanding. However, the noise level is extreme and I probably won’t be back for dinner on a Saturday night for that reason. Our small party of three was seated in a metal cylinder booth made for 6 or 8 people across from two parties of twelve—all yelling at each other so they could have a conversation. They completely drowned out the rest of the people in the restaurant, causing everyone else to yell just to have a conversation with the person sitting across from them. While the metal cylinder booths look nice, they make for lousy acoustics.
