Poor service from waitress as order was not correct on several occasions had to repeat requests for silverware..and condiments. Server omitted to place request for appetizer ...and when it was placed it arrived after meal was over.

I made a reservation on open table. When I got to the restaurant they were closed. Very disappointing!

Barrel Down specializes in beers, and they appear to be very good. I'm not much of a beer drinker. The menu is pretty scant, mainly sandwiches, burgers and salads, but they are very good. The ambiance is hip and spare and the mood is buzzy and fun. Very nice place.

When I walked in saying I had a reservation through open table they snapped at me saying they didn't have any reservations but they would seat me anyway. They sat us at a weird shared table where some guy was almost sitting on top of me. Not the experience I would expect from an open table partner.

Highly recommended if you like craft beer, finger foods and late night snacks! Loved the popcorn cauliflower, sandwiched (all sorts) and salad.

This place has such promise, and yet it disappoints. The host was fantastic. The room is fun. The beers are really good. But the food was, with one exception (the cauliflower), awful. And the service (aside from the host) was non-existent. We would have loved to add this to our DTLA rotation, but it's just not worth it.
