Had restaurant week menu on a Friday night at 6:30. Not too busy. Located in an old theater uptown. Ambiance was nice, unique. Hostess was sweet, server was friendly but rushed. They weren't busy but the acoustics make the place loud no matter the crowd. Fancy dark wood, horseshoe like bar with lots of space. Great shops all around to browse or buy while you wait for a table if no reservations. That's all the good. Unfortunately restaurant week menu was not well thought out or very good. Fried green tomato appetizer tastes ok but was the best thing out of six dishes. Garlic brisket was fatty, pulled pork and grits was swimming in maple syrup and the banana trifle was reminiscent of candy circus peanuts. All in all menu was over the top sweet, beginning with the featured old fashioned bourbon cocktail. We were constantly sticky throughout the meal and smelled like pancakes well into the night. As a BBQ place they did not promote that at all. Definitely too pricey, $30 for two drinks on the restaurant week menu - too much, but you're paying for location. Will maybe try again for grilled/smoked meats.
I am so sorry to hear about your experience during restaurant week. I do hope you come back and give our smoked meats a try.
They know how to prepare meat!!! The grits and pork were fabulous. My husband had the Mac and cheese with burn ends—amazing. Salad, pimento toast, brownie dessert—great ways to round out the meal. A little noisy but the music was good. Great experience!
Thank you so much! It means a lot to us that you took the time to share your experience. We hope to see you again soon!
Excellent food and service; pulled pork and mac and cheesed the best!
Food was really good but we couldn’t order what we wanted, no burnt ends & no Mahi-mahi
A great night out with friends. Service is always very good. I do wish in the future they'd change to the menu to include small portion sides instead of large side portions at a cost. But food is always delicious.
Food was really good. A little pricey for the portion sizes though.
The carpet was so sticky that I could feel it walking through the entire restaurant and then my shoes stick to floors after I left. This tells me that the place as a while can’t be exceptionally clean. Order was messed up but they handled it appropriately.
Friday night dinner….music was very loud! My husband and I were yelling across the table to be heard. Our server was fantastic and kept apologizing for the long wait. Ordered hush puppies when we first sat down and ordered drinks. They didn’t show up until a minute before our entrees got there. I was craving the hush puppies after having them at the Canal Winchester location and they were so good, we ordered more! But at Westerville….horrible. Didn’t taste anything the same. We’re really firm and overcooked. So disappointing. Our server brought us the cornbread instead to replace the hush puppies. It was undercooked! Raw batter in the middle. I got the Mac and cheese with the burnt ends brisket and coleslaw. Good, but the brisket was not as tender as I thought it would be. I think this is a good restaurant, but I think this location needs to make some changes. I’ll go back to Canal Winchester if I want to go again!
Made a reservation only to get there and it was closed. Very disappointed as parked blocks away and it’s closed ??! How can you take a reservation and not be open.
very Rude service by the waitress!! And no ribs available.
Hush puppies were soaked in grease like a sponge. Even a puddle on the plate. Lots of fat on the brisket. We have ate at two of the other locations and definitely felt the food wasn’t as good here. Our server was nice and very attentive. Loved sitting on the patio with the music.
Half-sisters stuff done z song z fibroid fit to it go my my TD
Wonderful, as usual.
Menu not the same as online. Noise level MUCH louder than on previous visits. Couldn't have a conversation. Requested the volume be turned down but it didn't happen. Good was good, but again, not as reflected on the Website and disappointed.
Fantastic brunch! Service was excellent, food delicious, and atmosphere wonderful if you want inside or out.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback and experience! It really means a lot to us. We can't wait to welcome you back.
Very nice. Loved the shrimp & grits
Great little outdoor patio and nice service. Portions weren't huge, but the food was good. Small issue with meal was corrected quickly.
First timer and we’ll be back. Noise level a bit higher than our liking. Food was good, drinks were great.
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience! We can't wait to welcome you back.
We dined there for Father’s Day-this is one of my husband’s favorite restaurants. The food was really good as always! The server was nice but slow and not super attentive.
The chicken wings was so
Done it was chewy
Great wings and a large selection of cold draught beer with excellent service. The vibe inside this old theater turned restaurant is very cool. Will keep going back!
We had a rather nice luncheon. Summer salad and French Onion Soup.
However the highlight of our meal was the chocolate brownie with maple honey sauce, bacon and vanilla bean icecream. Almost forgot the brazed brussel sprouts. They were interesting as well. All of this for around $45.00 for both of us! Pretty good and our server was very attentive to our needs.
We'll visit again, well worth it.
Thank you so much for sharing your experience! We can't wait to have you back.
Atmosphere was great, Nijah was a great server. Food was outstanding but thought the bbq platter was overpriced. Overall great experience and will be back
Love barrel and boar. Good food and great outside seating!
Shout out to the Manager, Earon, tonight at Barrel & Boar Westerville : the food was amazing and the service was fantastic, they were short staffed so the manager was our server this evening. He wore many different hats as manager, server and bartender. Some of the best food I have had in a long time and the adult slushies are trouble, they are so yummy 😋
Very nice ambiance in the converted movie theater turned restaurant. Sat on the back patio which was relatively quiet off of a side street and back lot parking. Food was good although the ribs were on the dry side, compensated with the use of their signature barbecue sauces. Loved the Sweet potato fries and texas toast topping it off with a craft beer. Definitely enjoyed the meal, the service was attentive without being bothersome. Will definitely return to try some of the other entrees.
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience! We can't wait to have you back.
The front of the house was lacking to say the least. The hostess had no sense of urgency and no manager stepped in to help manage the line of folks waiting for their table. We did not get seated until a half hour past our reservation. Would have been significantly less had the sole hostess not dissapereared for 5-10 minutes in-between sitting each table
The waiter was overwhelmed and missed our app. Management did make that right.
I am so sorry about your wait. We do not reserve patio tables so sometimes that can cause a bit of a wait. I do hope you will come back and give us another try and let us make is right.
Food is good. Menu advertised online is not the same in the restaurant. Basically you choose a meet and all sides are in addition to the price of the meat. However, the food was good and worth the price overall, but it felt like a misdirection. Service was good. Our server was clearly new, but she would go back to ask her manager questions she didn’t know in order to make sure she had the right information, which I appreciate over her making something up. The inside decor is simple and not overbearing. Seating is comfortable. She was very attentive and kind. Will definitely go again.
I thought it was very overpriced for the food. I got a chicken sandwich with some meat and cheese. The presentation wasn’t worth $16. Could have more meat for height. Just average tasting
We are regulars at this fantastic restaurant and would recommend it to anyone. Service is awesome, food is always delicious, they have a wonderful selection of craft beer and mixed drinks, and the patio is perfect. Five stars!
Thank you so much! We really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience.
Great food and awesome service!
We are so glad you enjoyed your visit. Hope to see you again soon! Thank you for taking the time to give your feedback.
I loved everything about the experience. I would recommend spending brunch there to anyone!

The wait staff is HUGELY overworked. The ratio of staff to patrons was overwhelming for our waitress. It's not her fault but 20 + minutes for a drink is pretty bad. Food was really good.
This was out first trip to B&B, Westerville. We had some high hopes for the place.
Overall, I don’t feel like the value is there. It is very overpriced for what you get. The meats do not include any sides, everything is al a carte and it seems like they nickel and dime you. For example they charge you .75 for house pickles, (which is a standard accoutrement for any BBQ place) but your meat comes with random pickled vegetables. Just give us pickles. At City BBQ I could get a pint of free pickles if I wanted. They’re pickles.
Meats should come with ATLEAST one side. Charging $16 for 3 thin slices of brisket and asking me to pay $4-$6 per side is near extortion. You ended up spending about $30 for just your meal and that’s pretty steep for average food. The brisket was really good but not for the money.
Their brown sugar sweet tea was barely sweet (also tasted like old tea) and I wasn’t a fan of the cornbread. It was pretty dry and the butter they use gave it an odd flavor.
The wings were good as was the Mac n cheese. Service was good though we got one wrong dish they had to remake. No big deal, the manager handled it promptly. It allowed us to try the chicken which, was not great.
Overall, I likely wouldn’t return. The value isn’t there and Columbus has plenty of amazing BBQ places that offer a better experience and value for the money.
It wasn’t horrible, and the employees were all nice and happy, they just need to rethink their setup and pricing structure. Also, don’t advertise sweet tea to southerners and give them what we got, it was not even close to actual sweet tea. Lol.
We had a party of 6. Our server was friendly and attentive. Food was very good. Two of us had the Mahi Mahi. Very good experience. Would eat there again.
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience!
This was 4 out of the 5 of us first time going here. The food was awesome, as were the cocktails. Will definitely go again. The service was great too!
Food was good, predictable fare. Service was excellent. Restaurant has an indoor gnat problem. Bugs were all over us, flying around the table.
I sincerely apologize about the gnats. We have taken steps to eliminate the problem and want to welcome you back! Hope to see you again soon.
They accommodated our large group wonderfully! Service was excellent and the food was even better.
The service was slow, we had reservations and asked to be seated at a table instead of a booth, we were told that the restaurant would be full so we couldn’t take a table for our party of 3 (tables seat up to 5.) As the meal went on the we realized that there were AT LEAST 6 open tables that we could have moved to that sat empty!
The food was dry and lukewarm. They had no jam or butter for biscuits. Coffee refills were very slow, though there were 6 wait staff for only 10 tables that were full.
Overall it was a bad experience, not worth the time or money.
Me and my daughters were out for appetizers and dessert we had wings and a waffle berry sundae which we shared it was all very good. We did have cocktails and if there is a complaint it is that the drinks were watered down not a lot of flavor and certainly not much alcohol. Otherwise everything was good.
