Barrel & Boar- Gahanna
"B" was our server and was absolutely wonderful! We had great drinks and food and a lovely time and fabulous service.
The food was great and Vicky was an amazing and thoughtful server. She kept checking in with us to make sure we had the absolute best experience. We were there for Beer & Burger Week and had a great experience with some very delicious food. The sampler we picked was also a great addition to adding value to the meal as well as making sure we were more than full. We definitely plan on going back soon!
We go to Barrel and Boar Gahanna often. It’s always been a great experience. Friday was no different. Great drinks and food.
Some of the ribs where more like beer jerky.
Met a friend from out of town there and has a relaxing time. The Summer Spinich Salad was superb - and could be made "fall-ish" with roasted butternut squash and clementines in place of strawberries and mango.
Why the heck would you have music playing over the loudspeaker system when you have live music playing in another room?????? We must have been right under a speaker, but it was ridiculously loud. We had an 85 year old family member with us and were trying to catch up on family business, but he could barely hear! Asked the management to turn it down to no avail. The food was fine, but this is another restaurant we will go to sparingly because of this experience.
I am so sorry we were not able to remedy the music issue during your experience with us! I assure you we will never let this happen again, and hope we can earn your business in the future.
Sunday $1.°° ribs is a delicious value! I love this place!
Food cold and dry
The food was great and the server respected the fact we were visiting with friends and didn’t interrupt us constantly.
This was our first visit. It was lunch time and not very busy. There seemed to be only one waiter serving all of the tables in the restaurant--but there were not many occupied tables. He was very and present when he was available. The menu is very "meat forward" with few options for a lighter meal. Nonetheless, my salad was fantastic with a nice balance of meat that was not overbearing for my smaller appetite that day.
They need to get a handle on the flies. Have a hard time enjoying a $25.00 meal while swatting flying pest. Small “fruit flies” to be precise. They need to clean their drains near the bar and/or kitchen area.
Food was delicious! Unfortunately our service was absolutely terrible. After the waiter delivered our food we literally did not see him for 45 minutes. We had finished our food and had the dishes piled up waiting for him to check back in. We had our dinner finished for a solid 25-30 minutes before he showed back up and said, “You good?” We asked for our checks and another 10 minutes went by before those were delivered. Food was great, outdoor seating with live music was fantastic. Just very disappointed with the server.
This was our second time there and I will add the service was fine the first time!
Wonderful Patio on a summers night! Great happy hour values. Only negative- Did not care for hush puppies (need way more onions/too dense). Great server - forgot her name.
The food was not good as it usually is. I said something to the waitress about it and it seems as though nothing was done.
I arrived about 10 minutes before my reservation and they made me wait almost 20 min from the moment my reservation was scheduled. Meanwhile the restaurant was nearly half empty. The food was sub par and the server seemed to be annoyed to be working there. I’m certainly will no be visiting that place again.
Unfortunately I must rate this experience not so good due to the noise and service. This was our first visit and had family in town who wanted BBQ, so we couldn’t wait to try B&B. Our meals came out quickly and want to say tasted amazing, but then had to wait 30+min. for dessert and coffee. Once our waitress came back, she said the desserts were ready and thought they would have been brought out, on her doing she removed desserts from bill but we never got the coffee. Super Bummed since it was our first time in and we all loved the dinner-just ruined by lack of service at the end and having to yell to my family a crossed the table since the party room was having a party! Will suggest that you close the divider between party room and tables when party room is full. We will try it again in hopes that it was just one of those nights with the service and will either close the divider myself or just ask for a different table if party room is full. Thanks
This was my second time going to this restaurant. The first time I went I got the brisket platter and the slices of brisket were more fat than they were meat. I enjoyed the sides though so I decided I would give the restaurant another chance. Yesterday my partner and I went for a date night and I sincerely regret returning. I got the burst ends sandwich of which I could barely eat. The meat tasted like it was “burned” with a propane torch. Let me preface this with the fact that I rarely if ever will complain about a meal and I throughly enjoy char on my meat. This, however, was inedible. In addition to my entree being beyond disappointing, we found plastic in my partners side salad! For a restaurant that has so much potential given the ambiance, I don’t ever need to waste my money there again. I have had better BBQ from a fast food restaurant.
Food was excellent, service good and sat outside on patio which was a big plus in my book!
The restaurant somehow did not confirm to Open Table that we arrived for our reservation, so we were given a “no show” until it was disputed. The appetizers and side dishes were good, but the brisket and pulled pork were both fatty and also cold. The kielbasa was delicious, however. I’ll chalk it up to an off night because I thought a previous lunch at Barrel and Boar was fantastic!
Southern comfort feel, delicious food!
Great food and cool atmosphere.
Yes! I was sat on the patio and did have to wait a little bit for my waitress to come over. One girl did come over and get my drink who was not my server, which was wonderful.
Food was amazing, and I can't wait to go back!
We love this place, especially when the Patio is open. Food, music, ambiance and people are great. We were a little disappointed that they were out of our favorite Loose Rail Shandy....but understand it IS the most popular local brew on tap!
We sat outside for the first time this year.
The food was wonderful as usual.
We loved the hush puppies!!! The food was wonderful 😊
One of our favorites close to home! Always great food, drinks & service
The server marred our experience with a lackluster, wish I was anywhere else on a nice summer weekend evening.
Food and service were great! Love the patio and the beautiful Creekside area
This was my first visit to B&B but not my last. Gorgeous day so we sat on the patio listening to the nearby fountains. Service was prompt, friendly and courteous. I had the Texas Cheesesteak Sandwich made with tender brisket that was just fabulous. My lunch mate's salad and crab cake were also wonderful, she said. There is a lot on the menu that's not BBQ for those who don't care for smoked meats. The interior still looks as nice and upscale as it did when the restaurant was Mezzo.
The wife and I went here for Mother's Day dinner. Food is very good and reasonably priced. This was not our first time and will continue to go back.
Dont order the burnt ends unless you like eating fat.
My daughter and a couple of friends went for prom and received the red carpet treatment. She said they had an attentive server and delicious meals! Highly recommend for any special occasion or just a night off from cooking at home.
We took our new neighbors there for dinner. They had never been before. We were seated immediately (made reservations online), the service was great, the atmosphere was really cozy and we could hear the jazz band in the background, the food was wonderful!!! We all ordered different entrees and sides and no one was disappointed!! Being from the South I always order your fried okra, just like my grandmama's. The peanut butter pie was heavenly!!!
Absolutely the best BBQ and sides in Columbus ! Definitely will return
I came out for my birthday dinner I had around 10 to 12 guests. The restaurant itself was beautiful I would’ve preferred the outside patio area but it was a rainy day so the inside was just fine. I loved the couch cushion seating for the few extra people who decided to come last minute. The service was great food was good and I will definitely be returning.
Easter brunch was delicious!
Ben the Manager is amazing.
Food was tasteless. Brussel sprouts had sugar in them, sweet potato fries had sugar and cinnamon.
Kielbasa platter came...the kielbasa was sliced in tiny slices and if you lined all slices up, it was probably half of a store bought size...for $13-$15!!!
Pulled pork and pulled chicken was not pulled, it was chopped and dry like it had been warmed up from the day before.
