Inspired by its namesake, Barranco’s menu offers seafood, family-style tapas and a select number of main dishes. In addition to a ceviche bar, Barranco’s menu features bocaditos (small bites) such as Scallops Carlitos and Langostinos Crocantes (prawns), grilled anticuchos (meat skewers), pollo a la brasa (traditional Peruvian rotisserie chicken), classic Peruvian sandwiches, an assortment of delectable sides and, for dessert, Alfajores, the popular Latin-American artisanal cookies.
Barranco’s beverage program features pisco, the traditional spirit of Peru.

Nice to be able to dine al fresco in 80 degree weather @ 6pm with live music! Our second time having dinner here and it didn’t disappoint. Started with the tequenos, ribs, and shrimp over a bed of mashed sweet potatoes. Then the churasco (steak frites) and the mixed fried seafood platter. Dessert was a coconut panna cotta with a passion fruit coulis. Excellent date night albeit a bit pricey.
The empanadas were delicious -- highly recommend. The calamari cicchirones are not as good as the chicken.
Food was good but not as good as we remembered it pre-pandemic. Guitar player/musician was great but a bit loud making it hard to talk. Service was good.
Good food good service. Easy dining
Food, Ambience and Service were all outstanding. Very good live entertainment was a nice surprise and huge plus.
I had not been back to Barranco since Covid. Happy to report I will continue to support this restaurant by making another reservation.
The food here is both interesting - because not your standard American fare - and great tasting. Fabulous menu that is terrific for sharing. If you like/love South American cuisine, go here. The drinks are also most excellent and Pisco is a great mix.
Here are the reasons we will be back. Special cocktails---more, please. Food---well prepared and seasoned; plating pleasing to the eye. Service--accommodating and efficient. Outdoor seating---some tables better located than others.
Interesting menu. The males ordered meat and the females ordered fish. All four were happy with their dinners.
After confirmed with waiter THEY STOPPED MAKING COFFES SO YOU GET OUT FASTER!!!! This is just ridiculous. What world are we living in? Sad!
We enjoyed the ambiance and the service was prompt and friendly. The food tasted good but was overpriced for the serving size.
The food is great. Sitting outside was good from the noise aspect since it is very noisy inside.
We ordered a few tapas, but none of the dishes stood out. I am gluten free, so the menu options are limited and those modifications impacted the taste and presentation.
Sangria and pisco sour were tasty. We LOVED the outdoor setting, and really enjoyed the live music. I won't be back for food, but would definitely grab a cocktail and listen to live music.
Everything was excellent.. noise was too high, we were almost screaming to be able to be heard.
The food was amazing and the server was wonderful. The biggest issue was the fact that it was so hot outside and we were seated inside because of that. However there was no A/C on and it was very uncomfortable. The other issue was the fact that the inside restaurant was empty and they sat another couple right next to us. The tables are fairly close together and there was no reason to do that. Also it was our anniversary which I put on the open table reservation but there was absolutely no mention of it. We would definitely try this place again, but perhaps the internal temp should be looked at and also seating issue could be addressed.
Barranco was a beautiful experience. My friend and I and our two dogs sat on the patio in the sun. The tapas were so wonderfully prepared, fresh, delicious...the waiter was kind and attentive.
Excellent experience. The food had high quality ingredients and well prepared. The service was outstanding, very attentive, helpful and friendly. He made our lunch experience! Hats off to him and the kitchen!!
The ceviche was CRAZY GOOD. Honestly, the best I’ve ever had. And the empanadas - also crazy good - were unique with a flakey, light dough I’ve never had before with the dish. The only miss was the beet salad - it fell flat compared to the other things we ate.
We sat on the patio, listened to some lovely, live music. Great experience.
First time at BARRANCO. Food is creative and delicious. We shared 6 tapas among our party of 4 including caesar and beet salads and 2 desserts. The empanadas sampler tapas were amazing. We ate indoors and it's rather loud.
Best live music, great fun!
Service was great. The food was just ok. The ribs were all fat and bone Despite mentioning it to the waiter they did nothing. We ordered several other dishes that were bland .
We go to other Peruvian places and are much better .
Perfect place for good food, ambiance and service.
the place is cool! the staff was nice. food was great and the cocktails are awesome!
Good was amazing!!! I sat inside but would have preferred the outside.
Service was great.
I told the server I was lactose intolerant. I asked for suggestions. I chose the spare ribs. They came to the table without the Korean BBQ sauce, salsa or slaw. I complained and the server brought another serving with the BBQ sauce but without the salsa or slaw described on the menu. Apparently the slaw was made with milk, but why no salsa?
Great staff and fabulous food seasoned just right and cooked to perfection.
Barranco was excellent! We went on a weekday for a late lunch and had the entire inside of the restaurant to ourselves. The service was wonderful and the food to die for!
The restaurant layout is like an open cafeteria inside. Food was ok but extremely overpriced for the portions you get. Limon in Walnut Creek is so much better quality food, pricing and overall feel. Service was ok, they just seemed bored and interested. We had to ask for recommendations, it turns out there was seafood special that our server never mentioned. We heard another server describe it to his table. We won't be back.
Awesome. Best food I’ve had in a while.
Great place for Peruvian food. Authentic.
This was probably one of the worst meals we’ve had in several years. Extremely overpriced. Very mediocre at best food. Very disappointing. I’ll never go back here again. Total waste of money.
The meal was great! We had light appetizers and drinks and the service was great!
Good ambience, Great food. The seafood Paella was the best I have had, The fries were terrific and the ribs were also excellent. Perfect experience
Three of us had a lovely evening. The food was delicious and the service was outstanding. We will be happy to return.
Loved this place a nice outdoor dinner! All the food was amazing and even made my pregnant friend a yummy mocktail!
Food was very good, although a little on the high side. Expect about $40pp (adults). Besides the food, the atmosphere was good; however, we sat inside (we were the only patrons inside) and the music was cranked up so loud, that we couldn’t even hold a normal conversation without shouting. We even asked them to turn down the music, and they did a little, but it was still very loud. I measured it on my iPhone and after they turned it down, it measured 58 db. Way too loud for a normal table side conversation.
Dishes were well constructed and flavorful. It is good to try a variety with friends. We had about 7 dishes (tapas).
Fantastic drinks, nice outdoor space, food is fresh, creative, and tasty. Wide menu with all the Peruvian favorites.
Food was fantastic. Ambiance family-friendly and energetic. Seats--horrible! I understand that restaurants want to turn tables as fast as possible and having cushions on chairs is counter to that but, c'mon, if you're spending $300 for 3 people you should have a comfortable seat.
Excellent variety of small plates and peruvian dishes.
