The food was good the waitress was fantastic the only thing was we make reservation and they try seat us in the lower floor super dark and no appealing look went they have tables upstair i complain so they seat us in firs floor and they were empty tables all the time we were there when i ask the hosts she was super rude and say they were reserve
i guess they didn't show up more the 10 tables in different parts of the room
The food was good, though it was quite loud. The staff was great and friendly.
Food was good service was good. But to be honest I was very taken aback when asked to increase my tip. I had calculated 18% on the amount , not including tax, but a waiter came to the table to ask for more tip money. Very unprofessional. I obliged but would never return nor recommend.
We tried to order three different desserts and we were told they were out of each of them, one at a time, and then a fourth dessert (the last resort) was basically forced upon us. It is wildly overpriced, although the paella portions are definitely sizable. The sangria was very good. Food was good overall. We basically got kicked out very rudely right before 11 PM even though it says they are open until 12 AM on all weekdays on Google (we went on a Wednesday).
Excellent meal. My 4th time here and always leave impressed!
Service was very good and attentive, though food was slow to come out from kitchen.
Probably some backup with food order, that would also explain the overcooked fried or poached eggs.
On the price side, 14$ for a slice of tasted bread with avocado spread, some salad, 2 cherry tomatoes and a single (overcooked) poached egg is a little pricy, compared to other items in the same menu.
Don’t let them take you to the downstairs dungeon, it’s terrible, horrible room full of huge parties. Bathroom was disgusting. Food and service good
I was very disappointed with the service at Barraca. It's been on my list forever to try, and I will not be returning. I asked to add 1 to our party, and they refused, claiming they were OUT of tables/chairs and were even borrowing from sister restaurants. When we arrived, the place was EMPTY. The poor service continued throughout the evening and the staff was barely attentive.
I love this place and have been here before. The food is amazing. I was a little disappointed this time, though, because they rushed us and then try to kick us out early towards the end of the meal. They said they were really busy. Regardless of whether they are busy, they should treat their customers with respect. When you're paying a lot of money for a nice meal, you'd hope that the service would be good and that they would allow you to time to enjoy it. My brother was visiting from states away, and I didn't appreciate them cutting our time together short. They should focus on making sure that every customer has a good experience, instead of trying to crank out as many customers as possible.
The paella was awesome and so were the drinks. They only problem was the service. It took us almost 30 minutes to get our drinks we ordered and 40 minutes to get our appetizer. We were sat at 850pm and didnt even get our main course till 10 pm.
Incredibly rude hostess!
I used to love Barraca. After this experience I am not going back. I asked for a table and after confirming that it was a party of two and indicating I had to order food I got seated outside and offered a drink. A couple minutes later the hostess came in and asked me to leave as my party had not arrived, my party was 5 steps away and there 10 seconds after. She still asked me to leave so that she could give the table to someone else.
Not only was I asked to leave, she was very rude and behaved as if I had done something wrong.
She claimed the restauran policy but if she made a mistake by giving me the table she needs to fix it herself.
Waited for half hour for reservation and then for An hour at the table before the appetizers arrived even though half of the tables were empty. Supposedly kitchen was “backed up”. Once the food arrived, it was good.
Very nice! Once they got super busy though service got slow. I highly suggest going early. We went at 12 and service started great but definitely dwindled after 115. Food was great, we didn’t get tapas and he open bar sangria selection - just entrees and were very satisfied.
Though the food was (mostly) good, I didn't appreciate that we were rushed out at the end. We had been there only about an hour; it's not as though we were overstaying our reservation or being rude to waiting guests. Tapas is traditionally a longer meal, with lots of courses and drinks, and it certainly put a damper on the experience to feel like once our check had hit a certain point they were fine telling us they needed the table (though we asked to order more).
Limited drink selection, unless you’re going there for the sangria. Tapas were good, but nothing spectacular that made it worth the high price point. Same goes for the paella.
Hostess told me to wait for my date but didnt offer seat at bar while waiting. Multiple servers, though considerate, kept asking us same questions which confused us as to whether our orders were going through or not. The bacon wrapped dates were great. Brussel sprouts were overseasoned and overcooked leaving half of it in a soggy, greasy mess at bottom of bowl. The paella’s seafood was overcooked while the rice itself is mediocre at best. My date’s sangria made her sick so she didn’t eat any of the food.
This place was lively and filled with people. It’s way bigger inside than it appears from the outside. It seemed like a happening place... however it was real loud. REAL loud. Regardless of where you were it seemed like people had to yell to speak to the person next to and across from them.
Now on to the food... Sangrias were watered down and the rest of the food left much to be desired. We did the 5 item meat and cheese plate. That was the best pet of our meal. The dates were ok and the mussels had no flavor to the broth... under salted. Additionally, we had the Negra Paella which lacked salt and the crispiness from the rice.
I wanted so much more for this place because it seemed like a cool place.
Great for brunch with very friendly and efficient service. I would recommend for a friends' get together meal.
I love Baracca and they are one of the *few* restaurants that honors their Happy Hour to patrons at the table not just in the bar.
The food and sangria are a steal $6 on Happy hour. We ate and drank until our heart's were content.
I highly recommend the Castillo Sangria and patatas bravas.
Service was amazing! We went because of National Paella Day and they had $1.00 dollar sangrias! We loved the Negra and Mariscos Paella. Delicious and would love to back again!
Even though I had made a reservation and there were empty tables, the hostess put us in the middle of the room where we felt in the way of EVERYBODY. I spotted an appropriate booth that was available in the back, and even though she looked unhappy and reticent about my request, she gave us the table. The restaurant should remove that small table for 2(or 3 if you want to overdo it) from the center of thenroom altogether. At the end of the day, we had tasty food and a great waiter, but I’m not inspired to return and would hesitate to recommend it. I would recommend Soccarat instead.
I love this place. I would go again and again :) Food and drinks are amazing
We went for paella night. The food, drinks and service were top notch.
Seated in a dank basement (it literally smelled) even though there was plenty of space upstairs. The servers barely paid attention to our table. The other tables had ordered the sangria pitchers so the servers were attending to them and barely noticed us. My patatas bravas were served without sauce. It took my friend physically going and tapping a server to fix this problem... And when he did, he took 15 minutes to bring the sauce. My food was half eaten and cold by then. The avocado toast was really some kind of processed avocado paste too. We ordered the churros for dessert and asked the waiter how many we should order... he recommended 2. they are TINY. The size of your pinky finger and swimming in a bowl of cream. not good.
all of the food was amazing and service was great!
Great tapas and wine, sangria and margaritas. The dates are out of this world. Try the paella as well.
Every time I go to Barraca, I think they could not impress me more. And every time I fall more and more in love with the place! It is such an underrated, lowkey yet very fun gem in the village. Definitely not yet that well-known which makes it the perfect secret spot to take your friends out to catch up! The sangrias are their specialty, as well as every single item in their menu (cheeses, charcuterie,TAPAS TO DIE FOR,AND DONT FORGET THE ICING ON THE CAKE STUFFED-CHURROS). The staff has always been very pleasant and welcoming, making it the perfect spot after a long, exhausting work day to relax with some drinks. The overall vibe from the decor, the comfortable booth seating, candlelight, and adorably sweet (and good-looking) waitstaff have me coming back almost every week. They should not change a thing (especially the amazing staff) who even sang for me on my birthday and got me a candle. Could not have asked for a better, more personal experience. They also now remember me since I've gone several times! Definitely must try the BACON-wrapped dates and the GAMBAS. For the ultimate experience, dip your bread in the tapas sauces! Just overall brilliant and my all-time favorite spot!
Great server
Mediocre food. Poor/slow service. Loud music. Three things contributing to not a great experience for a group of 6 of us. Challenging to talk. Shuttled to a “dungeon” basement that soon became crowded and airless. Lucky they awarded themselves an 18% tip for large party, because they probably wouldn’t have received that much from us.
Food is delicious and the restaurant is beautiful. Bottomless sangria is wonderful but with a big geoup the servers wait until the majority of the table have empty glasses. Not a huge fan of that, makes those that like to sip slowly feel pressured to drink more quickly. But overall a good place for brunch.
Great atmosphere and amazing food with a great sangria selection!
Second time visiting Barraca and I loved it. Great Galentine's brunch and delicious sangria!
Place was really incredible, food was clean and well prepared, venue was super intimate, overall great ambiance
All was great
Great tapas, nice room, excellent service!
Decorations was cute - came here for a girl's date on Valentine's Day. Service was atrocious (and we were on the lowest level, wasn't packed at all) and our paella came out so overcooked we could barely scrape it from the pan. Would not recommend this place to anyone.
Valentine's Day
Ruined Valentine's Day! Overpriced, squeezed in a corner, waited 45 minutes for entree, paella was burnt. Sangria was ok.
My husband and I went to celebrate Valentine’s Day. They didn’t note they would have a set dinner menu, so we were surprised when we got there and were told that’s all they were doing. We understood, given it was a busy night.
The food was so-so but the service was sub-par. We waited about 30 minutes for our paella, again understandable because the dish takes long to cook. But then we waited 45 minutes for dessert (which was supposed to be chocolate cake and an almond layer cake), at which point I asked to take it to go. They packed up macaroons and called it our dessert. The real kicker was when we received the check and saw 18% gratuity had already been included. I definitely would ‘t have been as generous given the poor service we received.
I’m not going back, and I have every intention of telling everyone I go to avoid this place.
Also, the music was incredibly loud (very hard to have a conversation) and it was pretty warm inside. Not a very romantic setting for V-Day.
