Excellent Customer service from Jay, Sauce is extremely good. Meatballs good I would rate them 3 out of 5, Margherita Pizza was exceptional with fresh basil and mozzarella.
I would return for Happy Hour, or quick bite, not a Date night.
We were seated in the Bar area though we had requested Standard Seating which I thought meant Dining Room not bar area but our server Jay made up for the lack of ambiance with his amazing service.
Overall I enjoyed our visit
Great resturant. The place is clean and set up well for social distancing. Our waiter was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and drink selection. Food was good with a solid selection of items. Great ambience and music.
thank you for sharing - we are so glad you enjoyed your experience!
From Greeting to departure, this was an enjoyable experience. As a lone diner I felt welcomed - received impeccable service from a friendly and knowledgeable staff. I was allowed to linger and enjoy the food, the cocktails, and the ambiance. Will definitely be returning there.
This is wonderful to hear - thank you for your review!
This was hands down the best food experience I've had since the pandemic
We're so thrilled to hear this - thank you for sharing!
Great service. Food was extremely mediocre at best. As were our drinks. Disappointing
We are sorry you didn't enjoy your meal more.
Our waiter forgot about us for upwards of 20 minutes at a time. However, the food was really great and worth the inconvenience.
We are sincerely sorry about the wait time. We will absolutely address this with our team.
Did not have a good experience. Service was very slow, even when we informed server that we were on our lunch break from work. Caesar salad with chicken was less than optimal, and costs $14. Server lost my credit card. Had to wait about 45 minutes while employees all searched for it. Manager finally found it in the bus bin with the dirty dishes.
Barra Rosa is an exceptional restaurant. We celebrated my wife's birthday there Saturday evening..
Kenneth our waiter was great and very attentive. He ensured our order was accurate and our drinks were kept full.
Manager Bill went out of his way to ensure the evening was special. The Tiramisu was actually his creation! Absolutely delicious!
The restaurant is social distanced very well and all workers were following excellent social distance procedures.
Thank you again for a great evening.

One of the best restaurants in Philadelphia! Great staff , amazing atmosphere with amazing food! Highly recommend for date night, special occasions or just a night out for dinner!
This is so wonderful to hear - thank you for sharing!
Our waiter/ bartender Jimmy was super friendly and helpful with picking out food on the menu, as we have not eaten here before. The ambiance was fantastic, perfect for date night. Great food, especially the charcuterie board from the specials for the evening!
I was very happy to get back to this place and was not disappointed. Our server Jimmy was great and attentive. The manager Billy was gracious enough to accommodate us when I had mistakenly rescheduled our Friday reservation for Saturday. We were seated quickly and without fuss. Definitely will be back soon!
Thank you so much for taking the time to give us your kind feedback - we are so happy to be back! Hope to see you in again soon!
A friend and I went for Restaurant week to Barra Rosa because neither of us had ever been. It was a cool restaurant with friendly staff. The food was great and the blueberry sour was delicious and refreshing. I had the calamari that was fried to perfection and the eggplant Parmesan was so good. The atmosphere was great, the staff all wore masks/shields and there was sanitizer for customer use. The restaurant is in Center City so of course parking is scarce but there are several buses that stop on the corner. The menu is decent and has typical Italian fare. Lots of wine and cocktails to choose from. I’d definitely recommend it.
We're so glad you were able to dine with us! Thank you for your kind feedback!
Absolutely loved it. Very Celiac conscious and had multiple menu items labeled distinctly gluten free. Very accommodating to make the drinks gluten free as well
Thank you so much for sharing - we take allergies very seriously, and are so glad you enjoyed your experience!
Great atmosphere, food and service. Made indoor dining feel ok.
This is wonderful to hear - thank you for joining us!
We had reservations during restaurant week and were there on Saturday evening.
My wife and I both ordered dinner for the restaurant week menu.
Though of selection was minimal- the portions and execution were extremely satisfying.
Our waiter, compliant with 2 face coverings- was efficient and amicable. We also appreciated talking with the manager who also welcomed us back.
Thank you for joining us! We do apologize about the limited offerings - we re-opened after 6 months right in time for Restaurant Week so we weren't able to offer as much as we would have liked. We do hope you will dine with us again, and are so appreciative of your kind feedback.
First time there and I wasn't disappointed. Staff was very friendly and food was good. I would go back.
We are so happy to hear this - thank you for sharing! Hope to see you in again!
Great food, great drinks, great atmosphere and great service! 5/5

We are so happy to hear this - thank you for sharing!
I ate lunch with a friend during restaurant week.the ministrone soup was so salty almost inedible.the chicken in the chicken parm sandwich was rubbery the side salad was good.the connoli and coffee for dessert was good.the sangria cocktail was terrible. My companion like her lunch.i will not be back, sorry.
We are sorry about your experience with us. We would have been happy to have replaced or refunded your meal. We just reopened after being closed 6 months, so clearly we have some kinks to work out and do apologize.
Fine date night
Thank you for joining us!
The coronavirus kept people away so our small party had the entire upper floor. The service was terrific and very good food. We've been here several times before for lunch before the Walnut Street Theatre play. Barra Rossa is a partner with WST so you'll receive a discount.
This is a great spot for drinks and food on a weekend night! I booked it for eight women for a reunion dinner, and we were sat downstairs in the bar area by the door instead of the nicer upstairs dining. That was disappointing as I booked it based on the picture and reviews I saw online. The experience is different downstairs (although same menu). The food was good and our server was attentive! The prices match the service and the food, so the value is there! Don't hesitate to eat here, but be sure to be specific in your reservation if you want to be sat upstairs. We had the glow of the street light and the view of the public bus stop for our reunion dinner in place of the second-floor city views.
Great thank ms
Dirty space, beat up, needs somecattention
Our server was awesome. Drinks and lunch were awesome. Thank you!
Good food. Gluten-free options.
Normally, we have been very pleased to eat at Barra Rossa. This time, the salads failed to arrive and the main courses had to be returned to the kitchen. When we finally got to them, they were lukewarm.
Barra Rossa is my go-to restaurant when I visit Philadelphia. Not only is its service top notch, but it offers many gluten-free options, so it is a treat for me to be able to go out and enjoy a pasta dish--the Chicken Abruzzi is fabulous!
Good food and service
Excellent service, excellent food. The downstairs was a bit noisy but we were seated upstairs which was a good deal quieter. Nice place to take parents or a date. Would go back!
Well located traditional Italian restaurant in the City Center. 5-10 minute walk from any major hotel. Bustling atmosphere creates a great vibe. More casual than fancy making it the perfect place to kick back and enjoy some drinks and great food. We sat in the 1st floor bar area with brick walls & plenty of glass to do some people watching of passersby. There is a second floor dining room as well. Our server, Mike, made our night even more special. He was prompt, friendly, attentive & knowledgeable. Between the 3 of us we ordered meatballs, zucchini fritta, veal parmigiana, chicken parmigiana & raviolis. The red sauce was bright & delicious. The wine list has plenty of selection from both Italy & California. The prices were moderate & affordable for the quality of amount of food. All in all a great time and will definitely consider Barra Rossa next time in Philly! Salute.
A wonderful treat before a play.
It makes each visit a marvelous day!!
Had a dinner while visiting Philly. Sat downstairs - not sure if it's different upstairs but the downstairs feels like a fairly basic pizza place - maybe a bit warmer. Nice big comfy booths. Pizza was just OK - it wasn't quite a crispy thin crust though they said it would be. Husband had the gorgonzola gnocchi which was nice. The gorgonzola wasnt overwhelming and the fig balsamic broke it up nicely. I'm not sure the gnocchi was freshly made though. Overall a simple easy place for a no fuss dinner with decent food to leave you satisfied.
Great food service and atmosphere
I am always hesitant to go to restaurants on busy days such as Valentine’s Day, sadly the friends galentine’s dinner did not impress. My food was luke warm, fries under cook, Mac and cheese was not impressive. If we do go again we will stick to the pizza and wine.
Bread crumbs on the seat. The pasta was more like a soup, and I never received a dish I ordered.
Went here because they had Gluten Free options available. We paid $50 for a $13 bottle of red wine. The 'bread" came out, flat pieces of dry pizza crust. The Gluten Free bread for my wife, for $2, was obviously gluten free pizza dough. Penne Alla vodka lacked flavor. Basically red sauce with cream. No pancetta, which is typical of vodka sauce. Side of meatballs with ricotta were just ok... Bottom line, the food is edible but not at that price point. The highlight was the wine. Service was good.
Amazing food and service!!
