Food excellent. Service good for taking order but a bit slow getting food and check which wouldn’t have mattered except we were going to a show after dinner
Food is delicious! This is a great restaurant for getting together before a play at the Forrest or Walnut Street Theaters. It's great for friends and family gatherings as well as date night! I'm looking forward to going back soon.
We made reservations for after theater and were seated immediately although the place was packed. Service was timely and the food came to the table quickly. Salads were delicious, with dressings that exceeded expectations. All in all a great place to have a drink and some food and talk about the great show we saw.
We went for dinner after a matinee show at the Walnut Street Theatre . The service was excellent as was the wine and food . I highly recommend this restaurant and I’m looking forward to going again.
ALWAYS good food and prompt service to get us to the theater on time!
Reservation was made for second floor to my understanding, however we were seated right next to the bar which I did not enjoy. This was my wife's birthday and was looking for a quiet non rowdy evening. I had to deal with the flyers game and regular bar patrons and drinkers and people coming in right off street. Bar tender was a little rude when I asked for a drink for my wife and realized I was taking it back to my table for her. The other server was fine and constantly checked on us. The food was excellent granted we only had a gluten free pizza since my wife has celiac disease her dining options are limited but this was the best gluten free pizza she had ever!
Sat in the dining room on the let when you enter the restaurant. We were freezing every time someone came in or out
The restaurant is a good option is going to the Walnut. It is a bit over-priced for pasta and pizza and really noisy. The rooms are very nice though and the decor was cool. We sat upstairs and it was tight, but not bad. My pizza was good. The pasta dish not-so-great. It was convenient. It was clean. It was fine.
We went here after a local theater show. The service was very fast and our server was very friendly. The food was outstanding. My wife said hers was a bit salty, but overall she enjoyed it. There was a wide range of menu items. I would definitely eat here again
Very good value, waitstaff service & food selections.
Dinner with friends before Hamilton performance
Excellent Service! Our server Kyle was very attentive. I also enjoyed the restaurant atmosphere.
The food is absolutely delicious, would highly recommend the chopped salad to start. The service was not as good, and the discount offered on website for Walnut Street tickets is incorrect.
Overall food was very good. The mousse dessert was overpriced and was rather tasteless. Had the key lime and it didn’t taste like key lime at all. Also our $33 bottle of wine sells for $4.99. Again a bit overpriced.
Great place for pre theater dinner. They are very conscientious regarding time. Love the food here and always awesome service
Absolutely fantastic food, service, ambiance...it was perfect. We will be going back!
Awesome gluten-free meal options, delicious food, excellent service.
Frequent diners at this great find!!
We ate upstairs in a private room with two tables of six. It was awesome. Our waiter, Kyle, was the best we have ever had and are looking forward to asking for his service on our next visit. He made our visit pleasant and checked up on us frequently.
We enjoyed our meals; our waitress was pleasant and efficient; Barra Rossa attractive and quiet.
We continue to eat here before our show at the Walnut Street Theatre (matinee). The check in process is easy, the Manager is friendly and the servers are very good. We enjoy our meals (pizza, sandwiches). Barra Rossa is a partner with WST and you'll receive a discount with your membership card.
Enjoyed dinner as always. Will come back.
As theater patrons, we eat here frequently. Every dish we have ordered is more delicious than the last! In addition to prompt service (important for making showtime), our servers are always so polite, personable, and friendly. It's a warm, quaint, and cozy dining experience in a big city. Definitely gets our highest recommendation!
I had a 6:15 reservation for Wednesday night, 11/6. I called to cancel that morning and had a very friendly gentleman, named Dan, handle the cancellation. I then called back several minutes later to reinstate my reservation and he was very gracious and said, "No problem!" I then called at 6:10 PM to say we were stuck in traffic and would get there as soon as possible. Once again Dan handled my call professionally. We finally arrived after 7:00 and he seated us and treated us professionally. We did have a laugh about my 3 phone calls that day. Everything went off without a hitch! Thank you!
Outstanding as usual! We go there before each Walnut Street Theater show and just love it! The food, the atmosphere, the location and the great service too. Kyle was our very attentive and entertaining server, one of the best. Their pear & fig pizza is addictive and I wouldn't miss getting the beets and goat cheese salad. You won't be disappointed.
Great service and food. Love the truffle fries. Block away from the Forrest Theater.
Great overall but was seated on 2nd floor in the back room that was dungeon like when the rest of the restaurant is bright and vibrant. Next visit I will not accept this seating. Food and service was excellent.
Food was great, as was the service!
Loved the Buffalo Chicken meatballs and Late night happy hour selection!!
Went here with my dad (vegan) because of the plant based options. Service and everything was great, but the vegan taco pizza was pretty much inedible. There was way too much dairy free cheese and not enough tomato to balance it out. The white bean ravioli was pretty good though! There are better vegan options in the city
Great food, great service!
Had my wife a daughters out for a pre theatre dinner. They were very attentive and got us served and our on time!
Dinner before a show! Great food! Fix the leaky ceiling!
Food was really good. Waiter was pleasant. Service was a bit slow with drinks and water never refilled. All in all a good night out despite those critiques.
It was great, I have food allergies and they did a great job.
Delicious food and a great atmosphere. Perfect a romantic dinner for 2 or a meal with family and friends.
We went for dinner after the theatre. It’s a pleasant looking resturant and we enjoyed the booth at the window.
Our drinks were ok - but a bit watered down. The food was just ok. We all had pasta because previous reviews suggested staying away from the pizza. The pasta was ok - nothing special. Our server was very pleasant and polite.
It’s a good place to grab a bit and keep the bill reasonable. Probably won’t go back as there’s many better options.
Went here for the first time and loved it. Cute place with fantastic food. Staff is super friendly. Definitely will dine here again.
We checked in to this restaurant hoping it would be better than it was when it first opened. We live a block away. Upon check in, the host sat us in a middle tiny table. I have trouble hearing so I asked for a booth (there were three available out of six) and it was also early in the night. The host came back to us and did not offer it. He offered a high top table which we can’t do. He went back to the front and came back telling us we would have to go upstairs to it. My spouse was really upset at this point as they were not willing to give us a booth so we left. Customer service was horrible there. I will never return. We went to Jamonera instead and had a fabulous meal. Jamonera eta knows how to treat customers—with respect and dignity.
Four of us had dinner here before a show, and we were all really happy with the choice.
Our arrival was delayed by traffic, really cutting into our time, but our waitress took care of us and our food arrived promptly enough that we were able to relax and enjoy. We had a variety of different items, and all were delicious. I would return even if pre-theater lack of time weren't an issue.
Nice restaurant near the shows. Also close to parking and hospitals. Food was ok. Service was nice. Walk upstairs is long. Apps were good
