Looking forward to great food in a great food town. We enjoyed the atmosphere and look
of the place, but found the food to be underwhelming. Neither salads, nor main courses
were as good as we had hoped. Our server was personal and charming.
Barolo has a great energy but the food was boring. Ordered the Sea Bass with sauteed Kale, both lacked flavor. The best part of the meal was the house salad and the focaccia bread. Service was impeccable which makes up for the poor quality of food. I've eaten here before, would recommend sticking with the pasta as to avoid being disappointed.
Came here for my fiancé’s birthday. We had max as our waiter, who was so knowledgeable and kind. Max had suggested their specials which we ordered two plates of. I also had asked max to put a candle on one of the desserts we had ordered and it was absolutely amazing and very special. I would highly recommend this restaurant! Amazing staff, delicious food and great ambiance!
Always a great meal here. Staff is strength to go along with the terrific food. Would recommend highly if you are a foodie
My team did a celebration dinner here because it was close and had great reviews. Those reviews did not lie. What a fabulous experience. Something local and Seattle yet very beautifully made Italian cuisine. Totally going back for their happy hour with the Mrs.
When the waiter calls Eggs Benny an "English Sandwich" and doesn't know what hollandaise sauce is...you have to wonder about going for brunch.
Our anniversary dinner was good but I did not think the food was noteworthy. The ambience was nice. Loved our waiter
Delicious food with great service.
Had spaghetti carbonara and it was amazing. Waiter did not split check correctly
Great Italian cuisine with a hint of american fusion. The ambiance is uplifting and tranquil at the same time, where the white noise blends into harmony. The food was insatiably delicious.
Food and service were incredible! The bumping electronic beats was the only thing we didn’t love.
a little loud, but they had a large group when we were there. Its on my list to revisit, well worth it
A delicious take on fine, Italian dining. The artichoke appetizer, for example, featured fabulously fresh local artichoke, cooked and quartered on a delicate salad bed. Perfect start for the meal. The main plates were well-presented and delicious. The veal was properly pounded thin, and was quite tender. The panettone bread pudding was delicate and a fitting end to a great meal. The wine list is quite good, with an extensive collection of Italian wines, as well as great local and other choices.
Quite frankly one of the best italian food that I had in seattle area. Drink was good too. Definitely would go back.
Good,tasty and well prepared.
Portions too big.
Great wine list
We had an excellent waiter.
Service and food excellent. Has been, and always will be one of Seattle’s best restaurants.
Oh my goodness! We three all ordered the Veal Scallopini with lemon sauce and TRUFFLES (slivers, not just oil)!!! It was amazing! Best bite I have had in a very long time.. perfectly accompanied by a garlicky Kale, which I don't always enjoy, but this was superb. The crispy, creamy Yukon gold slices were just right! Always excellent service and a beautiful jewel of a restaurant....ended with a sparklering (yes!) scrumptious shared Tiramisu.
Wonderful place to celebrate! Outstanding food and service!
Highly suggest the escargot and lamb shank. The gnocchi is amazing and I look forward to the next time we dine here. One of my favorite restaurants in Seattle.
We had made a reservation on "Open Table" for Barolo, but was offered the regular dining menu instead.
It was more than we had expected to pay!
Great food. Waitress was, slow, disinterested, and at the end, was fast to give me the check to flip the table.
As always we enjoyed an outstanding meal, and service. Our server was particularly outstanding and both professional and entertaining. It was a first date dinner and was the perfect place for the date. I wish the date went as well as the dinner ;-(
Can't wait to return for any occasion
Wonderful! Will he returning next time I’m in town!
The food isn’t as good as it used to be and getting very expensive for what you get.
I had not eaten here for several years and was most happy with the choice. Excellent wine list both by the bottle and the glass. Prompt, courteous service, our server checked in frequently and offered suggestions. the gnochi was quite lovely, the sauce did not overwhelm. it was perfect, turning into my go to place.
We were seated and served promptly but the vegetarian choices (especially on the restaurant week menu) were highly disappointing. They might as well have said “Restaurant week not for vegetarians”. I ended up getting a vegetarian risotto which was just OK at best. Not up to the standards the restaurant claims. My husband had the angus steak and was happy with it. So that’s a consolation.
We had excellent food and service. My only complaint about this restaurant that it is so dark that we couldn’t really see our food when we ate it.
Great place for late night happy hour. Portion size, price and food was more than expected along with great service!
Excellent pasta and meat dishes. A very comfortable and enjoyable dining experience.
The meal was fantastic. Wine splendid. Can’t wait to go back.
My husband and I were in Seattle for a medical conference and it also happened to be our 10th wedding anniversary. Marcin was an excellent waiter and very engaging. He brought out a small (very good!) dessert to recognize our special day. The food (I ordered halibut special and spouse had stuffed chicken) was cooked perfectly and we enjoyed our well-priced wine— Washington merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.
Food was lacking in flavor and a value. Relatively small portions which is fine but I was expecting a mouth full of flavor. Yes it’s busy, yes it’s good ambiance, but the food should have taken center stage.
A very nice place for a special celebration. As usual, Open Table allows us to specify a special occasion. Barolo took extra care to make sure we were treated right. The hostess and our server both greeted us with a cheerful "Happy Anniversary". Our menus were prepared especially for us. For dessert, we were presented with a small complimentary dessert along with a sparkler that was pretty spectacular. The food was also excellent. We shared all of our dishes: braised artichoke salad, lentil and spinach soup, spaghetti carbonara and veal ossobuco. The ossobuco was a very generous portion. Hearty and rich and the meat was tender and fell off the bone, but it was not dry or stringy. Excellent wine list including a good selection of half bottles. The space feels much bigger due to the mirrors, windows and tall ceilings. Our only issue was the rather loud music with the booming bass that seemed at odds with a romantic mood.
The food was great and the restaurant is beautiful. The big let down for us was the service. Our server was not unfriendly by any means, but the quality of the service was well below what you would expect from a fine dining restaurant. This was a real head scratcher for us.
The restaurant looked great and had amazing food. All of the prices were reasonable for the food and the environment. We were not so pleased with our service. Our waiter, Antonio, stood talking to the table next to us for extremely long periods of time. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with connecting with your customers, but we were sat waiting multiple times while they chatted. At first it was sort of funny to us but then it started to get annoying and we decided to skip out on dessert and just take the bill because we didn’t want to have to wait again for our food. Another waiter had ended up grabbing our main course because Antonio was talking with the next table so long. Left without dessert and the need to not come back.
Maximilian our server provided great recommendations on both wine and food. We came here for my birthday and it was an amazing treat for sure. The noise level was a little high for a romantic evening but was sitting next to my fiancee so we could still hear each other. Definitely come back here again for a night out.
Marvin was a great server. Rack of lamb was fabulous. Can’t wait until next time.
Great authentic Italian food! Two appetizers (octopus and grilled calamari) Branzino, Halibut. All fantastic
Love the ambience and food. Our waiter was amazing!
Great food. Didn’t like the fish, branzino, but everything else was excellent
