What a gem! Great ambiance, food service. Old school style, modern cooking without fads. If I lived in NY, it would be my go-to place for anytime special.
This is a wonderful restaurant. The food was delicious, many options on menu. Good wine list and great cocktails. Beautiful atmosphere and a lovely outside dining area, as well. We will definitely dine here again when traveling to NYC.
Lovely east side gem patio is really lively Service was great and it was a really lively. Ralph with friends. Will recommend
With reservation in sharing my RAVE REVIEW, it's only for selfish reasons! Amazing food, warm welcome, easily paced, lovely appointments. Great for business and friendship - leave feeling special!
Very cute backyard patio!
Decided to try Barolo for a business lunch with a friend who I’ve known for a while and enjoys good food. It was a pleasant experience all around: service was good, the ambiance was also good and the food was delicious. Will definitely come back to this restaurant!
Went to Barolo for my daughter's 16th birthday. The food was excellent and the staff was amazing. We had a wonderful time. Thank you!!
We had my husband’s birthday party. Food was good and the service was excellent! We had a wonderful time. The interior was really nice, too. Thank you!
Very good service and management interaction.
Service was gracious from the moment we walked in the door. The food was marvelous. We had a lovely meal in a beautiful room.
Quaint Italian restaurant in East Midtown Manhattan away from the hustle and bustle. Friendly and attentive waitstaff and a wonderful menu.
Lovely hidden gem on Midtown, if you are looking for one, this is it.Exellent food, very good service and reasonable price for Manhattan.Great please for business lunch on the east side.Overall I highly recommend to check it out!!
This place was great! Kids, wife and grand parents loved it! Service was awesome and meal was best we had i the city. Great experience!!!
Our impression was that they saw us as one-time customers (or maybe they see everyone as one-time customers) from the opening trick question 'would you prefer still or sparkling' (later on you find out the wrong answer has cost you $9/bottle). The correct answer of course is 'tap please', as there are a number of waiters walking around with water pitchers. The food was disappointing, esp for a restaurant that sees itself as higher class. I had the spaghetti with clams. Yes my 6-8 quarter inch tiny shells were technically clams and they sat on a dry sauce-less pasta. Not good. Ah, and the wine list was well over 3x (closer to 4x). Walk before trying to run would be my advice to this restaurant, ie get the basics better.
Wonderful food and service, wine selection and menu choices were abundant. A lovely evening!
A welcome new addition to midtown.Food was outstanding, ahi tuna appetizer was very fresh and homemade pasta was delicious and well presented. The wine recommendation by our waiter was on point. The place is very beautiful ,cozy and the outdoor seating is tranquil and isolated from the traffic noise being that it is in the back of the restaurant...overall very enjoyable experience and we will return for sure.
Should have been a give away when I could get an 8 pm reservation at the last minute. Food was very average. Service was very good. Pour a pretty good drink. Wouldn’t go back. Certainly not a 4.5 rating closer to 4.1.
Food was very good and the staff was really friendly. Party of people came at various times, but they were very accommodating. Terrific salmon. Not connected with old Barolo on West Broadway. Worth a trip.
Food and service was good but not exceptional. Good spot for a friendly get together, meeting a colleague for dinner etc. Has a small bar area, wines are decent .
I will return for lunch/dinner, a good east side spot to meet up with family & friends.
Great food and service! John D is an outstanding host. We will be back soon!
Excellent food and service, never disappoints. A terrific gem
The food was outstanding! Service was excellent, great wine recommendations, and lovely atmosphere. It was very quiet, we went on a Sunday lunchtime, so not sure of usual noise levels but I would encourage anyone in want of a decent meal in NY to get there!
Big tables raise sound level
The restaurant is lovely, we were greeted and seated right away. The wine list was very reasonable, and had enough familiar names that I could easily chose a nice one. It was hard to hear our waiter recite the specials, because the noise level was very “energetic”, but we could certainly hear our own conversation. The food was marvelous!
Our son lives in NYC, so, my wife and I meet him in the city from time to time for lunch, dinner and sometimes a show. This time, after the show, we had dinner at Barolo and it was perfect in every way. The restaurant was charming and immaculate. The service was best in class. And, the food was excellent. All around a great experience and a place to return to!
A warm and welcoming experience. Wonderful ambiance and service both at the bar and at the table. Very accommodating with special requests. We will be back.
Fabulous birthday experience. We had the truffle gnocchi and the waiter just kept on grating the truffle, unbelievable, they also surprised us with some profilerols with a birthday candle and they were so light and delicious 😋
The tuna tartar special and the grilled fish was excellent. The service was first class. Will definitely come again and again.
Spectacular Italian with great service. We chose Barolo because of great OT reviews and we were not disappointed. nice ambiance, friendly knowledgeable service and good choice of wine. We'll be back next time we are in NYC.
One of the best Italian restaurants close to Rockefeller and Times Square Great food, casual ambiance, exceptional service
Charming, romantic environment and great food. Went on a Sunday night and it was not empty but still quiet. Great variety on the menu.
Excellent food, excellent service, nice decor. What more do you need?
I had the best dinner at this new northern Italian restaurant Barolo East. The lamb shank was delicious.Good service, excellent food definitely going back to this great restaurant in Midtown. Thank you everyone for being so professional and caring!
The tuna tartare appetizer was tasteless. The first vine we ordered had turned( it tasted like vinegar). But, the bad wine was replaced for the same price, with a better wine. Intially, the wine Stewart tried to sell us a wine far above the price point we mentioned.
It was very noisy. Our waiter Gustavo, was amazing. Overall, I can’t recommend the restaurant, and would not return.
What a pleasant surprise to find this fine dining establishment so close to our hotel. We we starting our 30th anniversary trip and celebrating with some friends and picked Barolo East based on some of the reviews we had read recently. We were not disappointed. The food and service was outstanding. Special recognition should go to the maitre d' who went out of his way to ensure everything was served to perfection.
Tasty food, especially the octopus appetizer, great and attentive service in a relaxing atmosphere
From hello welcome, to thanks for coming, it was a great evening from the food, to the service to the ambience...
We were celebrating our Brother-in-laws Birthday. Could not have been Happier.
Incredible - an extremely pleasant surprise. The food was top-notch, from the octopus appetizer, the salads, the chicken martini, and best of all, the pasta special with truffles. Very reasonable prices, relaxed atmosphere, and the service was the best I've experienced at any venue in years - competent and attentive, but not intrusive. This is my new go-to for Italian in midtown.
Wonderful food and outstanding service
