Waitstaff was warm and excellent. Environment was comfortable and the food was delicious and cooked perfectly. Tasty! Will dine here again!

Great food at Barolo East. Nice restaurant that is small-ish so it feels a little more intimate in the hustle and bustle of NYC. Has a terrace in the back for outdoor dining. Great for a group meal or romantic dinner.

Physically, the restaurant is lovely. They also have a very picturesque, air-conditioned, outdoor space. The service was also very very good. Regarding the food, here’s the positive: The bread and fabulous bruschetta type dip that is brought to the table is simply phenomenal. My friend and I could’ve made dinner out of just that. And the desserts we both had were terrific. I got the chocolate soufflé which was fabulous! My friend got the lemon, I believe it was a tart, dessert which she liked very much. It was my friend’s birthday and the restaurant was very accommodating by putting a candle in her dessert and singing happy birthday. And now for the negative. Both my appetizer and main were very salty. I asked the waiter to please request no added salt to the dish. For appetizer, I got the sautéed shrimp which I found unpleasantly salty. For the main, I got veal scallopini with mozzarella which I found very very salty so much so that I really couldn’t eat it. I did take it back home, hoping that I can camouflage all the salt was perhaps some yogurt. I have not yet tried that. I would go back because of the phenomenal bread/dip plus the terrific desserts but I would be very careful to try and order perhaps the salmon or perhaps a pasta dish and hope and pray it is not salty. But if I do go back, next time I would send the salty dish back to the kitchen. A dish being too salty should never happen in my opinion. So much better to under salt than to over salt Obviously nothing can be done about oversalted food other than to send it back to the kitchen.

The homemade gnocchi was excellent..melted in your mouth. Tirimasu was silky and delicious. Beautiful and cozy decor.

Beautiful little restaurant! I could have been happy with so many things on the menu. I went with a lamb osso bucco and it melted in my mouth. Best tiramisu we’ve ever had. Tables are very close together and the noise level is high.
