    Really liked our food and the server. Didn’t Like that as soon as we checked in with the hostess the first thing she said was you have an hour and half to eat. This is not McDonald’s, it’s not fast food.

    Service is excellent. The two girls at the front make you feel very welcome and are very pleasant. The food was not very good. Tuna ceviche was plated poke not ceviche. Guisada was bland and watery even with the rice. It needed a lot more veg esp potatoes. Mine had three in it. Milhojas was a mess. Was given a spoon to eat the impossibly tough flake pastry. Even after using a knife it just fell apart into dust. The little bit of passion fruit de leche did taste nice. My dining companion liked the octopus and it did look delicious. Credit to Baro that the portions were generous.

    The food here is tasty but definitely not a top 100 restaurant in GTA. For brunch, the kitchen was running behind and didn’t have items ready, ie pork was still cooking. This is a great place if you want solid bar food and decent drinks.

    We had a reservation for 1:30 PM on a Sunday but unfortunately arrived closer to 2:00 PM due to traffic, completely on us. The hostess on the first floor was incredibly friendly and kindly directed us to the second floor. The moment we stepped in we were blown away by the ambiance, just wow. The space is absolutely beautiful and really sets the tone for a great experience. That said, the service didn’t quite match the setting. Understandably, it was very busy during brunch, but our server took about 20 minutes to approach our table. There wasn’t much attentiveness throughout the experience, which was disappointing given the vibe and potential of the place. We ordered the poached eggs with ham and the shakshuka with chorizo. The shakshuka had great flavor, though it leaned on the spicier side (which we didn’t mind). However, the ham was quite tough and hard to bite into. The most disappointing part came when we asked to order the pancakes we had been eyeing from the start, only to be told the kitchen had just closed. It would have been helpful if the server let us know earlier that the kitchen was nearing closing, especially since it took a while for her to check in with us. Overall, Baro has a ton of potential. The atmosphere is top tier and the menu looks promising. But the service and communication need to step up to match the high-end feel the restaurant clearly aims for.

    Pulpo and Meat were burnt. Ceviche was nice and well presented. Cake provided for birthday was nice but portion was tiny and felt not worth for the price for Pulpo. Service is nice but may not going back.

    They wrote us a little hand written note for our anniversary so that felt really special. The waiter is very attentive and recommend us many items on the menu for the full experience. Food quality and taste was an overall 8-8.5, only complaint is that the food was a tad bit saltier than I would like. Overall a good experience would definitely recommend to others and will come back again!

    We had an absolutely fantastic experience at Baro a couple of years ago, so we were really looking forward to going back last night — this time post my fiancé’s celiac diagnosis. Unfortunately, this visit was a huge disappointment. For starters, there is no legend or indication on the menu of which dishes are gluten-free. Thankfully, our server was excellent and took the time to walk us through the options. However, there were extremely limited choices — only one large plate option (also the most expensive dish), steaks starting at $95, and just four small plate options that could be made gluten-free. We decided to order three small plates to share — which turned out to be shockingly small portions. It would’ve taken double or triple what we ordered just to feel remotely full. When we asked if one of the other large plates could simply be made gluten-free by removing the sauce, we were told the chef “really didn’t recommend it” because it would alter the flavour, and there were no alternative sauces (which made little sense since other sauces clearly exist for other dishes). In total, for 3 tiny small plates (essentially appetizers), chips with guac & salsa, tuna ceviche, beef tartare, 1 cocktail, and 1 glass of sparkling wine, our bill was $115 before tip — and we left still very hungry. We were so disappointed — especially with how unwilling the kitchen was to accommodate a very common dietary restriction like celiac. The experience was the opposite of our first visit, and sadly we will absolutely not be returning and would not recommend Baro to anyone with dietary needs or restrictions.

    vibes were immaculate, gorge. Weird that you have only breakfast tho 😁 Guac should win that fourth award
