Barnes and Noble Kitchen-Eastchester
Beautiful setting, especially so in summer when you can eat outside.
Menu is limited but offerings are always fresh and service outstanding. Impossible burger remains the top choice of everyone when we’ve gone but other choices like open face steak sandwich and brisket burger or crispy potatoes and chips are great too. Tomato soup is so good I don’t order any other. I though ask them to ensure it’s heated well; I suppose generally folks prefer Luke warm.
Once they forgot to sever guacamole & chips appetizer and served main course first. They apologized serving guacamole with main course and took it off the bill without us asking for adjustment. Customer service is superb.
Been there thrice to eat and already planning a revisit.
Loved the impossible burger and the baby kale salad. Good place for lunch with friends.
Food is generally very good but lately not hot - seems like it was pre-made in some cases.
Great brisket burger, and avocado toast with soft scrambled eggs.
Something different but something I would order again.
Love coming here with my 3-year-old. Good food and good service. Since it was a holiday, it was quite busy and service was just a tad bit slower than normal. Definitely recommend making reservations if going on a weekend or holiday.
Perfect place to meet up for a light lunch or just coffee. Wait staff is attentive
Waitstaff didn’t write down order (is this supposed to be flattering bcs we all hate it FYI) and so my salmon came with a salad I was allergic to. My lunch companions finished theirs before the fix of my order arrived. I told waitstaff they could use the salmon of the original that cross contamination wasn’t at issue. When I tried to flag someone down as the wait became longer, there was a distinct annoyance. I go here a LOT. I never leave cranky reviews. Just. Write. The. Order. Down. I know I’m special. I do not need it to be proven to me by your waitstaff.
We had a problem with something foreign on my friend’s hamburger. After alerting the waiter, he took it away and the kitchen made a new burger. In the meantime, the manager came over to apologize and comped our table an order of guacamole while we waited for the new burger to be cooked. This is how it should be done when having an issue with your food and I thank B&N for their first class service.
Love being here! It just gets better and better.
Wednesday nite half price wine and sometimes live music. What more could anyone ask for?
The food was surprisingly good and the location is great given there are no real food choices within this vicinity.
This was the first time I ate at Barnes and Noble
I enjoyed it very much-the ambiance-pretty cool being part of a bookstore
The food selections for lunch were good
The service was pleasant and efficient
The tall waiter wasn’t very nice to us.
The other one was nicer.
We frequent this location and are usually very pleased with both food and service, however on this visit we were hugely disappointed with the service we received. Once our food was brought to the table,
Appetizer and main course brought together, we were never checked on by anyone at all, no one asked if we wanted another round of beverages, no one brought water and it was clear we were being blatantly ignored while all the tables around us were being checked in, no one cleared our plates, and
There was no offer of a dessert menu ,
the server’s excuse, sorry, it got busy....
I’m not one to complain but the way I see it, if you can’t handle a bit of a dinner rush, that may be something the managers may have to think about...
Menu is limited, but everything is delicious!
The food is very good. Hope B&N stays a long time in Eastchester.
Excellent salads and great ambiance. A little lunch gem
The food is surprisingly and consistently excellent.
Excellent food, ambience and service!
There were incredibly accommodating when we mentioned that we were in a rush, and we were so grateful. We had a wonderful meal and made it to my son's Christmas concert!!
Excellent service and burrata was delicious!
Barnes and Noble Kitchen in Eastchester is a great effort at creating a community gathering place in the atmosphere of a great book offering. The setting is lovely, the people who work there are really nice and responsive. Don't go for the food. I suggested it for myself and friends for dinner. Nothing stood out and many of the items for our table of seven were disappointing. I had pasta which was supposed to have snap peas, mushrooms, and asparagus. All it had that I found was ricotta and barely cooked asparagus stalks - the almost white hard ends that if I were cooking would have been broken off and tossed. It wasn't good and not worth the price. However, that said, I'll go back for coffee and a muffin or scone which are always wonderful. B&N, thanks for trying.
Very disappointing this time! The server didn’t write down our order (not sure why this is a thing!) and parts of the order were missing when it came out: The chicken to go with my salad and
the cheese and meatballs to go with my son’s spaghetti. We had to keep asking for them, and by the time the (very dry) meatballs came out (still with no cheese), my son was done with the spaghetti. So we asked for some extra sauce - took awhile to get it and then they attempted to charge us $3 for the sauce per the chef. To go on the dry meatballs that they forgot to give us. Each item came out one at a time - very disorganized and took longer than necessary. Usually have a good experience here but it will be awhile before we go back.
Food was good. I had the Avocado omelet on bread, the portion of eggs could have been larger.
It was my husbands birthday, but they didn’t do any special dessert or singing for him. It’s more like a cafeteria.
Great for a casual relaxed bite to eat in a comfy setting.
I come here often to meet friends for a quick bite to eat and I am never disappointed.
Food is good, service uneven, check in desk confused. We checked in and were seated. I received a call 30 minutes into our meal saying we had not shown up. Went to front desk and they said they would correct it. In the interim Open Table canceled the dining rewards gift card unbeknownst to us. So we were unable to use it to pay for our meal. After we paid ourselves we were able to resolve it by getting the points back, but the whole thing was unnecessary.
Birthday Lunch with friends.
Great food and service
Tasty menu, attractive setting, one waiter assigned for entire cafe--they need more help. Although vastly overworked, the waiter was pleasant and as efficient as he could be under the circumstances.
The menu is not huge but everything is delicious!! They have added a few new items which are also very good. The wine is very good also. Just be sure that if you are a B&N member that you use your membership card for the discount. The servers do not always ask if you are a member.
Perfect every time and loved my shrimp salad! Loved making the most of a sunny day and sitting on the patio.
Great ambiance, food is very good but menu is limited & it’s definitely quality vs quanriry. Super for a snack & coffee or glass of wine or beer friending in time of day.
Ordered a burger. Asked for it to me medium rare. Was assured that it would be. It was well done. For $17? Not a great experience. Complained. Waitress stared at me, looked down and then walked away without a word. This was my second visit to the restaurant in B&N. The first time no one came to take our order. After 10 minutes, we walked out. B&N, service sets food establishments apart. Next time I’ll just go to 5 Guys and call it a day.
Harold, our Kitchen server/waiter was excellent! Very rare to experience such top level of service anywhere let alone Barnes and noble kitchen. Thanks Harold!
Setting is nice and peaceful. Food is good but slow to come. Not the best place if you are in a rush or hate waiting at your table
Server forgot our appetizer. We felt ignored by our server. We had to ask 3 different employees for coffee, check.
Food portions are good. However, the noise level is loud because tables are so close together. I was seated at a table without a napkin nor cutlery and did not receive them until I asked. I also asked for water with lemon and was brought one lemon wedge.
