Barnaby's Public House
Great trendy place, for was good, drinks were as good. Looking forward to going back.
The sandwiches and burgers were good. The nachos were okay, and the one Guiness at our table had very little foam.
Place was not crowded at all and the service was still subpar. Burger was good but the patty was much thinner than what you’d expect from a pub-esque bar/restaurant. I was excited to order & have that pork belly appetizer and when it came to the table I was disappointed. All it was the three slices of thick bacon. The bacon was tender but not worth what I paid. The best part of the “pork belly” appetizer was the pickled brussel sprouts. They do have s good wine and whiskey list at very reasonable prices so if you’re into that, then I’d recommend this place. The food is above average but not great.
I enjoyed the vibe of Barnaby's! Amber was our server, she was kind and welcoming! She gave us a good rundown of the menu as well as suggestions. The burger my friend and I had was great! Will be coming back in the future!
My boyfriend and I went here before seeing a show at PPAC and enjoyed the ambiance and the food. We would go again! :)
The food was fantastic. I don't think anything we ordered was over $20 but it tasted like we were dining at one of the most expensive restaurants in RI. We enjoyed calamari, empanadas, shepherds pie, Guatemalan pork stew, and a classic cheese burger. All were so good we had to try dessert (which we never do). Bread pudding, key lime pie and a sundae. Delicious! And the wait staff was as good as the food!
Incredible food, great atmosphere. Friendly service.
Small food menu, but the food we had was excellent. It seems more of a true public house, where the largest part of the menu is the shareable plates. Just an excellent location all around
We had a great time at Barnaby's before our show at PPAC. The food and drinks were delicious. We started with calamari and roasted Brussel sprouts, which were shockingly good. The best part of the experience was our server, Amber. She was funny, attentive and engaging. We will definitely be back.
The service and food were amazing. My steak was cooked exactly as I wanted and had the best flavor. All of our food was so good. Staff was super friendly and accommodating. We were frequently asked how the food was and if we needed anything. I will 100% be returning and recommending to friends.
Amazing food, great service, love the atmosphere and story. Definitely coming back.
I had the Westminster burger, which was outstanding. Wife had an Asian noodle special which was very tasty but spicy. Our daughter had the fried chicken sandwich. It was not great. Our cocktails were outstanding and service was very good. Menu is rather limited.
The food was ok. The service was not good at all. We ordered appetizers and one round of drinks. We sat with empty plates and glasses for almost 25 minutes then the waitress comes with the check. She didn't ask us if we wanted another round or even more food. I was really looking forward to eating there and was very disappointed . The manager comped our drinks and gave us a couple of drink tokens but they will go unused because we won't be going back.
Dined her prior to a concert at the Dunkin’ Donuts center. The food and service was great even with the big crowd. It can be a little noisy and hard to hear your dinner date.
Food was delicious. Service was great. They even accommodated the fact that I loved the sound of the salmon dish but hate salmon so they made it with chicken. It was really good. My cocktail was lovely - The Cuban Ballerina- frothy, very slightly pink and not overly sweet. I'd go back to try more. My companions also enjoyed their food.
Had an early dinner with a friend before a show and we were not rushed. Waiter was attentive and food was good. I ordered a $10 glass of wine and was told it was not available. I ordered the "substitute" and was charged $13 even though there were less expensive options. Bad practice. Next time I will insist that the substitute be priced the same as my first choice, if not available.
Wow what a disappointment! Four of us gathering before a show. Music was so loud at 5:30 you could not hear the other person across the table. We asked twice to have it adjusted and it seemed twice it got louder.
Service was the worst we ever had. We had to repeat ourselves several times to have her understand ( no language barrier). She took an appetizer order and it was delivered and eaten by another table. Our food (which was good) was delivered and we told her that the appetizer had not come???? She did not make any effort to rectify the situation. Never came back to refill water ask if we wanted another beverage. When she delivered the check it was not ours. She took the credit cards and brought back a different amount then was on the erroneous bill. We asked for our actual check still no apology or recognition that she did anything wrong.
My husband wrote a comment on the bill.
When leaving the manager overheard us talking to each other about the service and came up to us to see if we would come back for a drink on the house. Behind him came server looking angry and confrontational. We declined his offer and headed to the theater.
He did ask that we reach out to him which we did and he indicated that he would like us to come back because this was a unique situation. Not sure we will invest the time or money with so many other wonderful places in providence.
Barnaby's is a fun place for great food and many smiles! Every dish was enjoyed by all! The wait staff is very friendly and helpful with local tips and stories.
Solid 4 1/2 stars all day. Everything was great. Co complaints.
Good food, good drinks, great waiter...good times
Great place to grab dinner before a PPAC show.
We dined here prior to a show at PPAC. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable, attentive and got us out in time for the show. His recommendations were spot on. Try the brussel sprouts. The cocktails are interesting and delicious. We will be back.
Had a great meal
Will be back
The food was wonderful. We were celebrating a college graduation and the staff was very accommodating and friendly.
The restaurant is beautiful with really nice woodwork. The servers were friendly and attentive. The food was just okay and the portions were not very large. The chicken sandwich had a very small piece of chicken. The slaw mix and dressing on the chicken sandwich was different and some people did not like it. The pulled pork sandwich was a better portion but was very bland. The portion of fries with each meal was small. Overall... I might try it again in a pinch, but was not impressed with the food enough to want to rush back.
The vibe is very good. They have done a great job with the decor. Cocktails were very well made and they went out of their way to make my pregnant daughter a delicious mocktail.
The food was good. What they served was made well but they need to elevate their offerings to differentiate themselves from a good local diner. Cubano, pastrami, burgers - come on guys. Give us a reason to travel 35 minutes to eat at your place. Providence is a foodie city. You have a lot of competition.
We loved the atmosphere. We loved the service and the drinks.
Great food and excellent service, great choice of drinks/bar and very cool atmosphere! loved it!
The food was good and the service staff was very friendly. The only issue we had is that we ordered the snack board which only came with 4 pieces of toast for a party of 6. Definitely not enough considering there was a decent amount of Burrata. We asked for more bread 3 times but it never came. Two people tried to clear the board but we kept telling them that we were waiting on more bread. The bread finally came out after our meals but we told them it took too long and we no longer wanted it.
Food was good though, I would recommend the Brussel Sprouts.
The food was good. The prices are slightly high for what you get. The service is good but the whole experience felt rushed. There is a subtly to great service which is being there when needed but letting the guest drive the experience. Some of the dishes were just not executed perfectly which detracted slightly from a great food experience. Would give it another shot if I was looking for the bar food sandwich night out.
Excellent mixed drinks and service. Food was very good, decent value. Good low-key option in downtown Providence with a different twist.
Favorite new place! The food was delicious and the drinks were AMAZING. We ended up choosing Barnaby's for a night out since we knew our favorite bartender was now working there.
We shared the roasted Brussel sprouts appetizer (something I would not have normally ordered, and loved) and we all ordered burgers. I had the Westminster burger, which I definitely recommend. We shared a few desserts as well and they were all fantastic. And everything Nate made to drink was incredible as always! We will definitely be back to Barnaby's!
