Fabulous food. The unique setting is very Kentucky!
We attended for brunch. Lovely and tasty experience.
Even on a cold snowy day it was a pleasure.
BTW check out the bourbon bar and gift shop.
Great brunch at Barn8. Good food and great setting.
I ordered the pork chop. It was like eating cold rubber. $41 for 1/2 inch thick served closer to room temperature then hot or warm. I could have bounced it off the floor.. Also ordered a side of fingerling potatoes. I was given small red potatoes. I ate a few bites of each and pushed the plate aside. My husband's pecan chicken was pretty good. But his brussel sprouts were cold. Service was OK but they failed on a few things. No utensil to stir sugar into a drink and no side plates for the cornbread app. A large table for 12 people next to us made it hard for us to have a conversation between us.
I did not complain to the waitress because I was not looking for anything for free. I don't like being put in a situation where it looks like I'm asking to be comped for a free meal. But I did let the hostesses no on my way out that the meal was horrible.
Saturday brunch was fabulous! The “Pretty Little Thing” drink was phenomenal, food was delicious and the atmosphere was amazing! Highly recommend! This is a hidden gem in Oldham County!
Excellent and unique experience. Highly recommend!
We needed a date night and this was everything we could hope for. Adventure, great food and drinks. Would go back in a heartbeat.
Cool rustic quirky atmosphere. Creative menu, food and cocktail was very good, service great. The place is a bit hard to find, especially in the dark! But friendly staff helped direct us over the phone. Even in the dark the place looked beautiful, and so warm inviting and cozy inside. Also highly recommend the Art Walk behind the restaurant. So glad we found and made the trip to this place!
Excellent brunch at Barn8. Great way to spend a Sunday morning.
Barn8 one of the most unique destinations for brunch. Flaky southern biscuits await with hand made butter and preserves. Perfect Brunch every time. Theater like atmosphere, wishing a horse would appear in my stall and nibble on our table entrees. Gorgeous gardens surround and I feel like I am dreaming every time I go there. Perfect pandemic relief... I want to be in a world that is free and lovely and the food is perfectly cooked. It’s a dream.
We just returned from a dinner at your restaurant, Barn8, where we have eaten multiple times in the past. Every time we have been there in the past, it has been a wonderful experience from top to bottom. Tonight that was not that case.
We made a reservation via opentable, and upon our arrival, we were greeted by a less than friendly front of house staff. She could not find our reservation, and I showed her the email confirmation, which helped her find it.
We were seated upstairs in the loft, which was a surprise, as we did not realize this was a seating option. There was zero ambience in the upstairs dining room, certainly not a good representation of what your restaurant has to offer.
It took at least 5 minutes before our server greeted us (I believe his name was Steven). We ordered cocktails and were given a dinner menu. The cocktails took at least 10 minutes to reach us, and they were the shining star of the entire evening. We ordered multiple dishes and intended to share. The tamale appetizer arrived cold, we ate it, because we were hungry, and there was no wait staff in sight to ask for a new one. Our server never came to check on us during this course. Our salad and soup arrived, and the runner cleared our app plates. The salad, the wedge, was good. The soup was interesting, the pumpkin flavor paired with the seeds and the oil was good, but once those were gone, the soup really did not have any appetizing qualities. We ate a small portion of it. It sat on our table for a solid 10 minutes before it was finally cleared by our server, who again, failed to ask us how our dishes were. We ordered a bottle of wine, which was sold out, and our server did a nice job of replacing it with a comparable grape and price range.
We were then served our entree. The pasta was cold, and so undercooked, it was getting stuck in our teeth, and was hard to eat. We did not finish that or the greens, and our server cleared our table without asking how either dish was, I would hav
The food was inventive, fresh, and tasty. Staff was friendly and helpful and the setting is really beautiful. My friend and I drove a couple of hours to try Barn8 and we were not disappointed.
Such a cool restaurant! Great food & drinks, excellent service.
Beautiful property with fabulous farm to table food.
Eclectic environment and unique menu. Fantastic service!
This experience was fantastic! It was a little challenging to find based on the google directions, but well worth the effort. It was a charming experience from start to finish. We loved everything we tasted and I appreciated the vegetarian options. We will definitely bring guests in the future.
Delicious food (both brunch & dinner!), friendly staff & incredible ambience.
The restaurant looked amazing. The amazing food was served to us in a cool location that makes me want to come back in the spring when the weather changes and hopefully Covid is finished.
Every time we have came they have been out of the main dinner entree that we chose. Same with this visit, however, our waitress was nice enough to check again in the kitchen and save us the last one! Always a great experience. Recommendations would be to make sure and have enough of the beef (meat) entree on the menu and to add biscuits and gravy back to brunch! Great place, highly recommend!
Such a great experience! Perfect social distancing atmosphere and it’ll be a perfect location for a bourbon tasting and group date post pandemic! Thanks so much for allowing us an amazing date lunch that allowed us to feel safe and have a great time!
Awesome place, great atmosphere. Food was excellent.
The ambiance of this place was unique, well suited for really any occasion. The food was truly delicious and the service was excellent.
I absolutely love this place. The food is amazing every time we have gone. The service was great this time with a guy who engaged and made the whole experience perfect.
I love the change in menu and each time i have gone there has been different selections.
The prices is never to much and the stall setting is perfect during a pandemic or even just with a family who has kids to avoid disrupting any other ones dinner.
I love this place and will not only recommend but continue to come back
This is a really unique location inside an old remodeled horse barn and stables with outstanding "farm to table" menu. The service is very friendly and staff was attentive.
This establishment was worth the wait. I saw this on OpenTable months ago, but was never able to get a reservation at a good time. I chose this place a Christmas present to my wife. We both enjoyed our dinners. The waitress was super friendly and nice. The only complaint I have about this place was that my Bison Ragu sauce was a bit salty, but I still ate it up. Definitely will be going back to try something different.
We have been to Barn8 before and were thrilled with food, service, and ambience. This time around the food was fair. Portions were small. The duck was excellent but the three other entrees were average. Plate presentation was poor. Service was good. Pricing was funny. A gin and tonic was $11.00 and the tonic in the drink was $2.00 extra. Go figure.
Probably the worst part of the experience was that at 7 p.m. there is no lighting to the entranceway and the long drive to the Barn was pitch black. We were not sure of the road and almost turn around to go home. The receptionist confirmed lighting is a problem.
An expensive evening for a not so good experience. Not sure we will return.
Such a great experience! Will be back!
Food was fresh & very tasty. Hostesses & servers were very friendly. I would definitely go back. I loved the creativity of the entree’s.
Excellent experience at Barn8 yet again! Wonderful combination of food, drink and ambiance. Steve personally greeted each guest and checked in on the experience. So nice having this gem in this area.
Barn8 exceeded all expectations! We are foodies and have tried just about every good restaurant in Louisville. This is up there with Jeff Ruby’s, Varanese, all of Louisville’s best. Incredible atmosphere and every dish was to-die-for. Cocktails were amazing, too. Run, don’t walk! A horse and Bourbon lover’s paradise.
I will say, if you’re not from Oldham County, it is a little hard to find. If you’re drinking, be sure you arrange transportation ahead of time. It is far and difficult to find an Uber back.
Great meal in a really neat setting. Trout was exceptional. Found a real treasure.
Always a fun place to eat with an eclectic menu. Great setting as well.
We enjoyed our dining experience. The atmosphere was fun and our waiter was wonderful! One dish portion was a bit smaller but delicious! We will definitely be back!
We really enjoyed it, thought the small plates were better than the entrees.
Hannah, our server, did an outstanding job especially explaining the menu, watching out for our food allergies, and spacing the courses out perfectly. The food is creative, very tasty and is top quality
Barn 8 is a terrific spot. The food is good, the service was great and the atmosphere is fantastic. What a property? This is a must stop if you live in the Louisville area or are just visiting.
This is such a special place to dine . The food and its presentation matched the unique ambiance of this fabulous restaurant . The service is outstanding . Can’t wait to return !
Barn 8 is always great!
I like the farm atmosphere and light show. The service was good and the cocktail excellent. The menu and food are overly complex. Some menu items were tasty and fresh but some were just ok. For the money I expected more.
It’s a nice unique place. We were seated upstairs which is not as nice as the first, barn, level
Food was generally very good but one one of our party was Weber raw duck. Although they removed the duck from the bill that seemed small in comparison.
Drinks are good but order 2 because it takes quite some time.
Service is friendly and atmosphere is amazing.
