   We selected the tasting menu with the drink pairing. Really enjoyed the variety of food, the service and the ambiance of our own private stall. Note, several of the courses were a bit spicy, and although some of the drinks were wonderful, a few were a little overwhelming for us. Drpending on your personal preferences you might enjoy every selection without qualification. Our server Steven was knowledgeable and clearly enjoys his work. Nice experience overall!

   We really enjoyed our date night at Barn 8. We were seated in the bar area per our reservation and had an exquisite experience. Service was top notch; atmosphere was perfect, and food was delicious. We will for sure be back.

   Awesome experience! Had reservation for 7pm, arrived earlier than expected, however, they graciously seated us early. Fantastic experience for our son’s birthday! Will be back!

   We had a group of 8 and we were seated in one of the horse stalls. It was fantastic. Such a cool experience. The food and service were great. We did the Art Walk after dinner and that was fun as well.

   Service was wonderful, as was the atmosphere. Overall we enjoyed, but we weren’t particularly impressed with our food. The risotto desperately needed some salt, and was generally underwhelming. My husband’s pasta was pretty good but nothing spectacular. The dessert was awesome though. The summer menu was amazing and everything was delicious, winter menu just wasn’t that great. Would still go back, I think maybe we’d just choose differently next time.

   Everything was fantastic. I only have two tips. The cornbread is not sweet, but the butter makes up for it. If you order the dumplings, it is very spicy unless you order it without chili flakes. BUT everything was fantastic. We will be back!

    This is well worth the drive from Louisville to Barn 8. The food and service was exceptional and they surprised my wife with creme Brulle birthday celebration. I will definitely come back when I am in the area.

    5 stars for overall experience and ambiance. We were seated in a beautiful stall for our anniversary, with specially requesting it. Our favorites were the apps and drinks that we got, least was the main entrees (4 stars). My husband got the pork entree and about a 1/3 of it was fat that he couldn't eat, so that was somewhat disappointing. After dinner we did the art walk, which was amazing. We will definitely be returning to see more of the property.

    I’m struggling with this one. My husband and I had heard mixed reviews going in; and we both really wanted to love this place. The atmosphere was great, the service exceptional, the drinks good and the drink menu extensive. The dinner menu was limited and the most of the food was just okay. (Carrots were the exception - they were incredible!) Our fish was really not good; but I was impressed that they asked specifically about it, removed it and took it off the bill. I think that we will wait till the spring menu comes out and try again, because the overall evening was really nice.

    This place was a destination. We loved the upscale Kentucky atmosphere that wasn't pretentious. We are Kentucky natives and just kept saying how proud we felt that this kind of place exists to show off the best of who we are. Modern but honoring tradition. Horses and bourbon and modern takes on beautiful food. Quirky, beautiful art and decor. The art walk light show along the creek after dinner was breathtaking.

    Quite possibly the best dining experience I have had in the Louisville area. Food was absolutely delicious and our server was wonderful and informative. We shared all of our dishes and all exquisitely plated and with an incredible marriage of flavors. I appreciated their efforts in using locally sourced food products and informing their patrons as to where it came from. We will definitely return.

    Good cocktails, great corn bread, the disappointment was in the trout that was smothered in a tomato-based sauce. That was all you could taste.

    Wonderful ambience - uniquely fanciful Friendly and helpful staff and servers Delicious cocktails Eclectic and wild menu Food was ‘wow’ The after dinner stroll on the grounds during the colorful light show in the trees with cognacs in hand was the cherry on top.

    This was our second time to Barn8. We brought friends from out of town. Everyone felt like it was one of the best meals we have had. Food and drinks were amusing just wished we would have ordered 1 of everything. Highly recommend and definitely impressed our friends.

    The food was unique and tasted good. Portions were on the smaller side. Some of the ingredients were uncommon to me, and the server was kind and answered all questions. The atmosphere was unique, barn, like with stalls, to eat it. They were a bit short staffed, but all were very friendly! This is a pretty original dining experience, but it is a little bit pricey, for the amount of food you do get. All in all, nice to have this restaurant in this restaurant , in a country like atmosphere, surrounded by horses and barns, also providing a wonderful sunset as we left our meal.Provides a lot of ambience I would go back again, and bring friends.

    I think the portions were way too small. I ordered monkfish, there were 4 small pieces and some greens. My husband ordered the chicken, it was a regular chicken breast that we cook at home with nothing extraordinary in terms of taste. It is very expensive for what we got (mediocre, ordinary, small portion food). I am very frustrated...

    So freaking good! The brussle sprouts seriously changed my life! We ordered so much food thinking there is no way we’re gonna eat this much food!! Not only did we eat it all, we got dessert because we just couldn’t resist. Everything was so fresh and flavorful! I wish I could eat there every night!!

    We had a delicious dinner and brought our 2 year old. Not much on the menu a toddler eats (we anticipated this) but she did eat the carrots, bread and ice cream. They were smart to seat us in the back room near a corner where she could get out of her high chair and color using the floor or an extra chair. I am currently expecting and love,love their alcohol free cocktails. We will be back!

    Their were 5 guests...our food was horrible 2 got Steak, 1 a salas, 1 pasta and 1 chicken...very dry! Atmosphere was wonderful...very enchanting but all food was terrible

    Made a NYE dinner reservation based off of hearing great things about Barn8, but I don’t understand the hype. The service wasn’t as warm as apple pie. Our server and the hosts didn’t greet us or engage with us in anyway. The only thing our server said was “do you have any questions?” — twice. Very unwelcoming vibes. It wasn’t until we were signing the bill that we overheard a different server explaining the specials not on the menu to another table. So we missed out on those. The food was really good, but nothing wowed or worth driving 30 minutes to enjoy unless you’re already visiting the farm. The breads and spreads were amazing. Especially the Brioche rolls.

    The food and service were excellent. It was our first time there and it will certainly not be our last. We thought the drinks were a little pricey based on what was provided, but overall the experience was excellent. The food was superb! Really enjoyed the art walk and the ambience of the restaurant itself.

    The grounds the restaurant sits on is beautiful. I found the main dining area to be somewhat plain, just average. We ordered the cornbread which was delicious and glazed carrots which also were delicious and I don't like carrots very much but loved these. My husband and I both ordered the chicken breast and it was just okay. It was a little dry and was overpriced at $29 just for a chicken breast. There needs to be more detail on the menu items. I shouldn't have to use Google to decipher a menu.

    The place is beautiful! Very cozy and well decorated. The service is good. But the food was not so great. We were a big group with 7 adults, there were 8 options for entree, we ordered 5 of them, and 4 of those were too spicy. That kind of spicy that take out all the flavor of the dish.

    I enjoyed the experience this restaurant offers. It is a bit off- putting as it is a multi million dollar establishment but the servers and the experience was down to earth which I appreciate. Although the food was very good, the appetizers such as the carrots and brussel sprouts should be sides with the main meal. Just eating chicken without any sides to break that up was not the best for the price. However we will return.
