   The veg pice was good, the roast lamb good, the roast chicken was dry and the beef I could hardly chew.

   Visited on a quiet weekday lunchtime. Service was friendly and attentive, and the food was up to the high standard we've experienced on recent visits. Really like this place, from the setting to the people to the food and beer. I would like to see some pasta on the menu, but I certainly wouldn't deduct a star for it.

   We arrived early on a lovely day and sat outside in the sunshine. The staff were attentive and the food quality and quantity was excellent. We will be back!

    Third time we've been here and it is still a lovely place. The menu was a bit limited but there was no real faulting the food. Many of us had the pie which was one of the nicest ones I've had for a long time, bristling with delicious beef. My wife had the duck salad which had a generous serving of duck, however, she felt it needed a bit more vegetable to make it less 'samey'. The service was fine but nothing special - just a bit bland as if they're just doing their job and not really enjoying it. I'd definitely go back though.
