A great new addition to Atascadero. The food was amazing!! And the drinks were great. Our waitress was a bit slow to come and check on us, but overall I’d be happy to come back.

Wonderful evening, larger group, the server was able to keep our glasses full, appetizers, to meal, to dessert moving right along perfectly. Daniel was great and always had a smile on his face. Food was excellent for all 10 of us. Drinks were awesome, lots of selection and some fun special mixes. This is my 5th time there and will continue to support the restaurant. Yummy!

This was our first time eating here and there will definitely be more. The cocktails were excellent, the food was outstanding, and the service was friendly and prompt.

Our first time there food, service and overall experience were A+. As a local having this place to come enjoy a night out is great. Many restaurants charge above average prices for mediocre food and service, Barley and Boar doesn’t disappoint. I hope this place stays around for a long time.

The food and service were outstanding. The restaurant itself was very busy... we did feel as though we were being rushed through our meal (they gave us exactly 1.5 hours to have our table). It was a very busy night so the restaurant was also very loud. It was difficult to have an intimate conversation at a small table. Will return on a night that is not so busy... :)

Really good, interesting preparations. Ambience friendly and enjoyable. Food excellent, except for dessert. First time we went had chocolate mousse but way too sweet. Next time had donut, but very dense and greasy so sorry after we ate part of it. Rest of it awesome.

Great experience! Highly recommend sitting at the chef's counter. It was great to interact with the chefs and be able to hear a little bit about their background and vision. The food was amazing! We have nothing but great compliments on this cute new place in Atascadero!

Went to Barley and Boar on a Saturday night. On the weekend you need to get a reservation because they are busy. I had the chicken it was yummy. My husband had prime rib he enjoyed it.

We celebrating the closing of a gorgeous A town house, six of us at the dinner. We had delicious meals--foccacia , gnocchi, swordfish, porkchop, chocolate mousse along with incredible cocktails and wine, can't wait to go back, definitely one of the best restaurants in all of the county!!!

Very interesting ingredient combinations, and everything was amazing. It’s nice to have that caliper of restaurant in Atascadero. It’s not cheap, but every bite told me it was worth it!

We sat at the counter. It was so interesting watching the food preparation and serving. All staff was friendly, helpful and provided great service! I posted about our experience on Facebook, I’m getting many positive responses. We look forward to going again.

Would’ve given them five stars, but the bread and butter that we ordered as a starter was not good. Warm plain rolls or sourdough would’ve been so much better. My swordfish, however, was superb.

We had a fun experience at B&B. We sat at the chefs bar and could watch the chefs work in concert. It was fun to watch. The food was not as good as we hoped. The steak was bland and had no seasoning. The pork was over cooked. Drinks were great and service was fantastic. The desert chef and sous chefs were all wonderful.

Short rib appetizer was so tough could not even cut with a steak knife. We did send it back and was removed from check but not addressed by staff or management. The bloom appetizer did have a tasty broth but the chicken was dry and overcooked. Because of these issues with proteins I was reluctant to order a main entree. Overall the food was not up to par or this caliber and price point of a restaurant. We will not return

We had a stunning meal at Boar and Barley after making a reservation. Don’t try to come spur of the moment, you most likely won’t get in. Albert greeted us most professionally and seated us right away. Our waitress Tahlie was just lovely. But indeed the food was the star. We love to find small places that are authentic, farm to fork if possible, great ambience and welcoming waitstaff. We found all of that here. Prices are high- know before you go- and I don’t mind paying those for an exceptional meal. We shared the fried green tomatoes. Very delicious! My husband ordered the pork and I ordered the gnocchi. As I said, the flavours were stunning- on both dishes. The chefs are truly innovative and know how to blend flavours and textures to make the perfect meal. My ONLY complaint, which I shared with the chefs, was that my gnocchi dish had just 4 pieces of gnocchi on it. (They also had a gorgeous flavour), the rest of the dish was mushrooms, spinach, blistered tomatoes. $30 for a plate of vegetables is a bit steep and I was most disappointed as I really love gnocchi done right and was so looking forward to a plate of it. I really can’t understand why there wouldn’t be more gnocchi in a dish that is titled “gnocchi “. Maybe they felt it would overpower the other flavours - not sure. But I was most disappointed with that. Definitely give Boar and Barley a go when you are in Atascadero. There are a good many options on the menu and I am sure they are all as flavourful as our meal was.
