Vegetable fritttata was dry, tasteless and, we learned, cooked two days earlier. Coffee was bitter.
This was our first time dining at Barking Mad Café and second time for one of our guests. It was a very nice experience! We will definitely return for brunch and would like to try lunch and dinner as well. I just love that I can make a reservation and be seated within a few minutes, especially when it was extremely busy and people are waiting for tables. I would definitely recommend.
Went there for breakfast. It's nice that they open early everyday, 8 AM. They have some interesting breakfast items. My husband had a huevos rancheros breakfast pizza, which he really enjoyed. My roasted veggie frittata was very good. Service was attentive and quick. We will be going back to try other meals.
We sat in the bar area. As in the past the bartender was quick to arrive at our table with menus and to take our drink orders. Service was excellent from start to finish.
Food has never disappointed . Reasons why we return often.
made a reservation, it was not honored. with kids in hand, I had to make other arrangements.
Food was great and nice environment, next time we would like to sit outside!
We had a very nice waitress. We were not in love with the food order, but we would go back there. The dessert was great!
We came to Barking Mad for my moms Birthday brunch - I had been before but other people in the party hadnt and everyone was impressed. Its so cute inside - a little tight but that's not a big deal. The food is reasonably priced and delicious!
Excellent brunch ... delicious beneits !!
really good! Surprising and in a new neighborhood!
Everything was delicious!! We will be back.
It was very fresh food, but service could be better. There was only one waitress, so she did the best job that she could do. I would definitely go back there again.
We were seated right away and met with a smile. Food was delivered fast and hot. Thai wings are excellent. Will definitely be back. Great to have a nice restaurant so close to home.
Brought my elderly mother and mother in law for Easter brunch. Everyone liked the food. It was very good and very well presented. The restaurant was very busy as every table was taken -- it was Easter Sunday -- it was a bit too noisy for the old ladies who could not hear the conversation. The waiter dropped dirty silverware on my mom's jacket as instead of picking up the plates he was reaching over people and asking them to pass the plates -- that was weird -- he got my mom's wool jacket dirty. Now have to dry clean it -- unfortunate -- did not offer any recompense -- my mom did not want to say anything but was upset. The waiter should have apologized to her. Give her a free scone or something, would make her feel good. Also, tell waiters not to reach over people or ask diners to pass their plates. Place and pick up from the back.
Anyway, the food was very good and I would definitely return because of that.
A Hidden gem! We will be back!!
I was surprised that this cute, neighborhood find had top-chief and organic food/beverage, and live music. It's like 3 places in 1 as there is a cafe, a bar and a restaurant- so no matter what you're in the mood for you can find it here. And, the staff are very attentive and friendly.
First time here and we were seated right away. We had the Thai wings and burgers. Food was good and it's a cute place. We will be back a and sample more dishes. Great to have another option close by.
Easily accommodated a brunch reservation of 10, and the place was busy. Glad they honor a reservation for brunch! Food was very good. Avocado toast, smoked salmon Benedict, French Toast, and the Beignets a big win! Excellent brewed coffee also. The average was bland breakfast pizza and only half cooked breakfast potatoes, but our server was exceptional so all in all a 4 Star performance. I think 10-15% over priced for this area but we’ll definitely be back because they have such a great vegetarian menu
We love going to Barking Mad for brunch. The chicken and waffles are the best!
Pretty chill. I made reservations for 2:15p but arrived earlier. They found me a table.
Great food. Waiter seemed new and was not too attentive.
Enjoyed a very nice meal with pleasant ambiance and excellent service. Nice place to enjoy an evening out.
We use to go all the time, but now, the care of customers is lacking. Once seated, we've waited 45 minutes just for water. Last 3 times we've gone, the food wasn't what we ordered, or we were never waited on at all and left. This was our last time. We've given numerous opportunities to "give it another go", but it's too expensive to not have a decent meal or experience.
And very good restaurant on the weekends, but probably not the best place for a midday lunch date. Good food and good service,
We came to Barking Mad for their special Valentine’s Day dinner. We were very impressed with the special menu and really appreciate the extra effort to go beyond their “everyday” menu and show what the chef is capable of. We also appreciated the extra effort to convert the Cafe to a romantic fine dining experience. We really glad we went there. It far exceeded our expectations.
Valentine’s day wish they had more diverse dishes besides just seafood
Wonderful Valentines dinner, we also love Sunday Brunch
Had a nice brunch there. Food was pretty good. More sauce on the eggs benedict would be better. Service was good - but our waitress seemed a little busy. Maybe they were short-staffed.. place was packed. I would go back.
Fantastic vegetarian food. Quick service. Nice ambiance.
First time I visited this restaurant for brunch. Really busy/ bustling rush for brunch so I got a coffee at the "bakery" side of the restaurant while waiting to be seated. Very cute place, I had the chicken and waffles and it was delicious. Would definitely recommend!
Excellent food and extraordinary service. Iris is the best!!!
Lots to choose from for brunch.
We will certainly be back.
Waiter spilled my gf mimosas all over her and the table, said sorry and cleaned it up. Then came back took our order but couldn't keep our unlimited mimosas filled. He also didn't offer any retribution for spilling mimosas all over my gf just kind of blew it off, ie a free dessert or the order of drinks free. Food was average the avocado toast is actually gacamole which would have been fine but was over loaded with onions as well as the breakfast potatoes. Decor is nice and I'm sure in the summer this place is a hit with its outdoor seating.
Another tasty and relaxing brunch at Barking Mad cafe. Introduced a friend to it and she loved the food and her beverage. They were very accommodating as well for her as she recently had foot surgery and they seated us in the bench seating which allowed her to prop her foot up and be much more comfortable. Great experience!
Nice and fun atmosphere for families!
We were looking for a breakfast spot that has waffles and had a nice surprise! Quaint and wonderful. They also serve beignets and clever coffee.
Had New Years Eve brunch with our family - food , service , ambiance all stellar ! Sean kept all 14 of us all happy - Definitely will come back !
Had a lovely impromptu New Year's Eve brunch with a friend at Barking Mad. Made an online reservation just 2 hours before we wanted to go and no issues whatsoever. Nice table by the window, quick service without being rushed. Beignets were yummy as were the eggs benedict! Nice hot coffee and a delicious cappuccino! A really lovely way to end the year. Have always enjoyed my experience here.
I thought the food was great, service was great, it just took quite a bit of time to pay. Once we got the check we waited probably 20–25 minutes to pay.
I was disappointed in both the food (the butternut squash soup had an unpleasant, almost sour taste, abandons the salad was quite small for the price) and the coffee, but plan to give it another try at some point since I've read so many positive reviews.
