Service was friendly but very slow. Food was decent, but nothing to right home about. Outdoor space is fantastic!
It was date night and we’ve tried this place already so we decided to back because the food was excellent and without a doubt the second time was still amazing. The best was the duck bacon dumpling was the most delicious thing I ate from there.
Inventive meals in a casual atmosphere. Really enjoyed salmon and cocktails. Kids were happy too. Definitely return.
Really good food but the service leaves a lot to be desired. Our server was almost never there and it took a while to flag someone down for something as simple as putting our orders in. Still worth trying because the food is great, especially the chicken and waffles!
Unique and creative Open Table description caught my attention.
Good brunch place to hang out with friends! We were there on Sunday, the food was good and the service was nice. I would encourage friends to hang out there.
We went there for brunch. Food is delicious, and drinks are fun. Very noisy, but that might be because it was raining and no one could be outside. Will definitely go back on a nice day, and maybe eat outside.
Service was slow to get started, but way better than last time I was there, so improving. Once we got service, it was good for the rest of the time. Finally will start going back.
Beautiful spot. Tasty food. We got the chicken and waffles (jalapeno-cheddar) and avocado toast and both were absolutely delicious!! Friendly and accommodating staff. Couldn't ask for anything better!
We had a great family brunch yesterday and despite the hot weather, we all enjoyed our time together.
Food is very tasty and fresh! The homemade burgers were delicious. The battered cauliflower was yummy with avocado sauce! I will be back for breakfast and homemade dessert (too full to try tonight :-)!
Lovely place for breakfast and lunch! Only complaint was the coffee. I’m pretty certain that it’s the blend not the method. Other than that, had a great meal.
I wanted to go to brunch with friends on the 4th of July, and I was in Gaithersburg pet/house-sitting for a friend (I live in Washington, D.C.). A few friends that I'd wanted to catch up with were in the area, and it was more convenient for all of us to go somewhere for brunch in/around Gaithersburg than in D.C., and I remember a friend raving about this place. We booked it for 5 people for brunch, and there was plenty of space for all of us to sit and eat comfortably. We sat inside (it was very hot outside), and it was cool and bright, with lots of windows allowing for the natural light to make the entire space feel open and light. I ordered the eggs benedict pizza and added bacon, and OH. MY. LORD. It was incredible! So many textures, flavors and scents! Amazing :) The pupaccinos were also delicious. This was a fun brunch that I'd recommend to anyone in the area!
Notwithstanding the following statement on the menu: "OUR EXTREMELY HOT-WOOD BURNING OVEN PRODUCES A GOLDEN PIZZA CRUST W/ DELICIOUS CHARRING AND BLISTERING." The pizza that was served at our table was so undercooked that it was possible to roll-up the crust all the way to edge...yes, that soft. Not a char nor blister in sight!
Even the 2nd chance pizza was unispiring and disappointing. The crust WAS better, but still lacked the crispness that was advertised and expected. Where was the sauce? Bland pepperoni ... no sausage ...
We will not return.
We had a reservation for noon and had to wait for almost 15 minutes even while the party ahead of us (party of 5 and we were a party of 4) who did not have a reservation got seated before us. The hostess was very overwhelmed and only after I approached her for a second time did we get seated. It did take awhile for the server to come to the table but once we ordered the food it did arrive in a timely manner. Food was OK. I did like their tea very much.
We had great service for our lunch. We needed to change tables to sit outside due to the noise inside. It was a beautiful day but hot and bright sun. I can't be out in that kind of bright sun. I had brought a hat just in case but the server moved us twice as tables with better umbrella coverage came available. Food was good but not amazing. They had GF and Vegan options which was great. I would go back though.
This restaurant was recommended to us by some friends who live in the area. It is unpretentious, the staff is informed and friendly, the food well-prepared and with some nice individualized touches (ex: the fried chicken sandwich had their own slaw topping, which was nice and tangy without being vinegar-y). My partner said it was the best BLT she had ever had, and she is over 90 years old! If I lived out in that part of Montgomery county, I would certainly return. As it is, I am in northern Virginia, so the chances are slim. I do encourage the locals to check this place out!
Anniversary brunch well spent!
Great brunch. If you go, don’t skip the beignets.
There is a great patio area, but since it was rainy, we sat inside.
We love this place. Father’s Day brunch was a little crazy but that’s expected. We will continue to eat here.
It was the perfect spot to celebrate my friends and i’s promotion. the food was great for a reasonable price. I would come back there multiple times !
I had an amazing cheeseburger and Caesar salad. My cocktail was lovely. My son's salmon was excellent. The staff was super friendly, but the kitchen is a little slow. It was the first night of outdoor dining of the season, so I think a lot of training was going on. It is worth waiting for.
Everything was great from the service to food to the ambiance☺️
Great place to bring family together. Had a dog and baby at our table outside and the experience was great for a large group!
Food was great as it has been each time we have been there. However, the service was slow, this time. Maybe, it was because we were seated in the bar area.
If you have food allergies or intolerances - do NOT eat here! I am gluten and dairy allergic. I know they have “gluten friendly options” - but they cannot even make you scrambled eggs without dairy “because the egg batter is pre made with milk”. Even the frittata is “pre made with cheese”. Wow. They used to have GF bread but now it’s just vegetarian bread. No offense to the vegetarians...but the only item I was offered on the breakfast menu today was black coffee, two eggs sunny side up and bacon. That’s it.
Was a fan, but will never return.
Great food, stellar service!
When we arrive with a little toddler at 9.00 AM per our reservation, just to find out the the cafe is not going to be open until 11AM.
It was very strange situation...The hostess was very nice and apologizing about the system glitch, but we had to go to another place to have our breakfast...
We had a very nice brunch. We each ordered different breakfast pizzas. They are a really creative breakfast choice. The crust was crisp without being burnt. All the ingredients were fresh. The service was very good.
Good food with a variety of options. Has improved over time!
Sam is a fab server!!
Always an outstanding experience!
fairly decent menu as well as alcoholic selections. Ate outside - super nite. However table service was far from stellar. Apparently other's who've reviewed in past have same complaint. Waited almost 25 minutes for drinks even w continuous reminders. Food slow to come out w one dish incorrect and one dish w food item asked not to be included. In both case, since waited so long, made no issue.
Food, very good -
Will return, but not anytime soon.
We had a wonderful time! The service was amazing. Our water glass was never empty, we were always asked if there was anything more we wanted, and it was always with a smile. The food was incredible and all cooked on sight with local ingredients. Will return over and over.
A group of us from work met here to wish a coworker the best on her next phase in her career. She chose the location however for many of us it was our first time. We were very pleased with the location, the service and especially the menu. The food didn't disappoint. Some ordered sandwiches (steak), others salad and a few of us pizza. I had the pancetta and fig. It was positively delish! I will definitely be back another day with the husband. Others are planning on returning as well to try the other dishes and we will spread the word!!
Mother’s Day! Lauren was our server. She was super attentive, sweet, and genuine. The food was hot, wait was fairly short, and the service was spectacular. We will definitely be back!!
Neat place and great food. The Sunday brunch menu is excellent (super eggs benedict and beignets) and the service was very good. I have two complaints. The first is that the background music is so loud it can be difficult to hear people at your table. The second complaint is that they hit you with an automatic 20% "service fee" for a party of 6 or more, but then give you a credit card receipt with a blank space for adding a Tip. So if you don't realize that they already charged you 20% extra, as I didn't, and give them another 20-25%, you end up paying a 40-45% add on. Technically, the service charge is mentioned somewhere in the menu, but I only realized afterward when looking at the receipt, and, rightly or wrongly, it left me with a bad taste in my mouth. I was a waiter myself, and yet I don't understand why they need an automatic gratuity for parties of 6 or more. Are large parties so inherently untrustworthy that they cannot be counted on to tip adequately? And what if the service had been terrible? You can't reduce an automatic service charge to show your displeasure. If you don't trust people to tip, then have a service charge for all parties and remove the tip line from the receipt. I just felt a bit duped, and it kind of soured me on the experience.
Busy Mother’s Day brunch crowd challenged the cheerful staff. Inside, noise level was heavy metal level. At a metal table outside, delivery of our small order took 30+ minutes. Tasty food — assorted pastries, avocado toast, steak & eggs — compensated for the wait. Overall, it is nice to have Barking Mad in the Gtown-Gburg ‘hood.
Very busy Mother’s Day. Don’t think they were prepared for the crowd. Had to wait 35 min with a reservation but meal service once we sat down was good. Rosie drink was amazing.
