Great food, great service. Will definitely be going back and recommending to others for special occasions.
Anniversary dinner. There was a nice card from the staff on our table wishing us s happy anniversary. Outdoor table was very nice, service was impressive the food was awesome.
The food was not hot.
Dinner was for my husband's birthday and service was great. The food was excellent also. My husband appreciated receiving a birthday card signed by the staff. It made the occasion more personal.
I love this place. We had the same attendant that we had serving us for Father’s Day and she was excellent.
The entire staff we interacted with was incredibly kind and helpful. The food was superb; I had the halibut, and my wife had the pork chop dish. We shared the kalamansi pudding for dessert, at the recommendation of our waiter.
Only real downside is the noise factor; I could hear the guy sitting at the table next to me better than my wife who was sitting in front of me.
My companion was gluten and dairy intolerant. The waitress guided her choices and the kitchen went to extra effort to see that her needs were met. We sat outside due to the noise level inside. The courtyard was beautiful with driftwood, hanging baskets, sculptured shrubs and edible plantings, not to mention the gorgeous fountain. The food exceeded my expectations, even the vegetables.
Terrific all around. Service and food was perfect.
Great experience for an anniversary. Food was delicious. Wife had the vegetarian noodles and I had the wild king salmon. Great taste. Quick service and delivery of food. Had dinner at 815 so that may have been part of it. Dessert was delicious although I dont think I'd go for two glasses of port at 21 dollars a pop again. Wine is from a local winery that makes amazing wine that we are members at. Can buy a bottle for less than 2 glasses. Ultimately it was all worth it. Sometimes you make memories while having no disregard for cost. When I registered for dinner I added it was our anniversary. We never imagined the surprises they had waiting for us at the Barking Frog and at Willows Lodge. May have found our new tradition.
Fantastic service and food. Great place for special gatherings and excellent, knowledgeable staff.
Excellent! l like here and want to come often. There are many restaurant around eastside however l could enjoy great sea food only a few nice place.
The dinner food was good but nothing spectacular. The customer service was outstanding and will keep me coming back.
Still one of my favorite restaurants in the PNW. My meal was excellent, and my only complaint was that the "pork chop" was tougher than I expected. flavors of all other food was excellent. service was great.
Lovely date night. Good is pricy but sometimes you just gotta splurge.
Disappointing visit. Courses were out of order. Hair in my wife's drink. Food was okay. Service was pleasant.
This was a birthday celebration but that was ignored and I had reminded them. Liquor very expensive. Food was excellent. Server was great.
Excellent service, very engaging waitstaff. Excellent cocktails and food. A major Plus: great outdoor seating!!
Expensive but well worth it. The service is attentive without being overbearing. The servers are friendly and open to questions and knowledgeable. The food is outstanding! Imaginative, innovative, fresh and well-prepared. It's hard to say anything is perfect, but this comes really close. We love the place and have and will return.
Our meal was served by the Hostess. Her finger was in my seafood cobb salad when she brought it. I scraped that part off my plate. :( She wiped her hand on her pants after setting it down on the table. Sorta grossed me out... Did she wash her hands before she brought our meals? I am a bit sceptical regarding that...
Sunday brunch with special visitors
A perfect meal on a perfect day
We went there for my birthday. The tasting menu with the wine pairing was definitely worth the price. Outstanding food and service. We will surely go back.
I wasn’t greeted nor did anyone make eye contact when I arrived. I was able to sit outside on their lovely patio on a beautiful day. My food was lovely and I enjoyed my time. The service was slow at first but my waitress was great.
My friends from Kelowna and I had dinner at the Barking Frog last Friday. It was fabulous from the amazing dinner to the service a stellar experience.. they then shuttled us to The Lyle Lovett concert we were attending.. a perfect evening!!! Five stars to the Barking Frog!!
Hostess was nonexistent… And as 10 of us waited to be seated no one give us guidance… Hostess finally comes up and Acts like nothings wrong…That is totally fine for 10 people to be waiting to seated into an empty restaurant.
Had she apologized… and explained Why we had to wait till that this be a totally different review.
Once seated, The service was amazing and the food was amazing…
Highlight of a birthday trip!
Barking Frog was amazing. One of the best meals I've ever had. Since there were so many good items on the menu, we decided to do it tapas style and had six of the starters, with pairings followed by dessert.
We started with the oysters. We've had Kushi before, but these were better than any of the ones we had elsewhere. A little bit sweeter, very delicate.
The ahi crudo was really good. Followed by the beet salad, which is way better than it sounds. The next course was the ravioli... the ravioli had a runny egg yolk inside that was just slightly set. I honestly don't know how that created that little pillow of perfection, but it was to die for.
The steak tartar was a decent portion and also really good.
Our last course was the foie gras. Now, this one is very rich. The combination of the other items on the plate with the foie gras, was perfection. I would not recommend eating the fois gras without the bread and sauce, it would just be too much.
For any of you who have ever been next door to The Herbfarm, The Barking Frog is honestly better food. The experience at Herbfarm is definitely something, but we enjoyed the food much better at the Frog.
Didn't get any entrees this time, but will definitely return and check those out.
Also, their wine list is nice and includes a price point and taste for everyone. Because we wanted to pair with our courses, we did not get a bottle. Many restaurants' wine by the glass list leaves something to be desired. Not here. Every wine we had we thoroughly enjoyed and we didn't even go for the high end ones - and we're kind of wine snobs.
Lastly, plan to spend some time here for dinner. This is a dining experience. Our dinner was three hours long, we left satisfied, but not overly stuffed. It was just right.
Delicious and wonderful atmosphere!!
I love this restaurant but was disappointed by the service during our dinner. This is not the norm, we have had wonderful meals there before, but only on this night did we feel not as welcome or cared for by our waitress. Which is saddening because it started off so well! The food and everything is too good to not come back. But hopefully the experience will be different next time.
The Barking Frog never disappoints. The food is amazing - just relax and let the chef work his magic! It is pricey but great for special occasions, especially anniversaries.
Disappointing. Many better meals and service in the past. Fish in two entrees, very good, accompaniments and service, not so.
The service and food were wonderful! My vegan diet was easily accommodated and the beet salad and cauliflower steak were outstanding. The sorbet flavors were unique and creamy tasting. I look forward to my next visit!
Barking frog is great for all occasions
This was a delicious brunch. The waitress was curitious to my food allergies and substituted things easily. The serving size was generous. I would definitely go back.
Overall I was not very pleased. For starters I was not happy about the seating. I was so close to
the couple next to me I could hear their conversation over my wife's. For the amount of money
I paid for dinner I expect more intimacy. My server Bill was great. The food was good. Not as
good as I remember. Maybe we just made poor choices. It looked to be prepared well. Lastly
about twenty minutes after I finished dinner I had to run to the bathroom and spent awhile there!
It had to have been something I ate! I rarely ever get sick from food. Again overall not very pleased.
I would recommend the food to a friend as long as they are patient. The food is always good, and some things are exceptional. This time we came specifically for the Cobb salad - a favorite - and it was delicious as always. The service is below par for the food. As often happens here, our server was MIA for a long time, and when we flagged down someone, both of us had to point out that our drinks were empty. For the excellent food and the prices, service doesn't meet expectations.
Great food, creative cocktails, excellent service, and they were able to accommodate our group with almost no advance reservation.
Everything was excellent. My only issue was the $72 filet I got was very good but not as tender as it should have been. The egg ravioli as well as my wife salmon were amazing and the desert was decadent. We also ate there for breakfast and it was even better than dinner the night before. Next time we are in the area we will be dining at the Barking Frog.
Truly one of the best meals I have had in a long time. Everything was perfectly prepared and the wine recommendation was wonderful. It was worth every penny!
We had an amazing meal and a fabulous time. The only down side was the hostess. We told her we were about 15 min early but could we get in earlier? It was empty inside with the exception of 2 tables and outside had about 5 tables available. She went to look for a table outside came back and said nothing. We were standing there and she said "take a seat your reservation isn't for 15 more minutes" " We need to let our staff catch up". Truly not a problem but so rude the way she said it.
Once we got to our table more than half the table was in the sun. We asked our waitress if we could move the umbrella and before she could say a word another waitress walking by abruptly said NO they don't move. Again no problem good to know , but I bet our waitress would have nicely told us that.
Enough about the BAD. Now the GOOD.
Our waitress was great , The food was Great and the atmosphere was great!!! So avoid the hostess and 1 grumpy waitress and you have a fabulous meal and evening out!!! Really was Amazing!!
We have been to Barking Frog a number of times and have always been entirely satisfied with everything. That is why we return again and again. This time, a friend from out of town, and we were not disappointed. A delicious brunch and great service!
