The place is clean and well organized. Food prices are high for quality and quantity of food. I probably will not return
Love the seafood at Barka. Always fresh. The scallops were excellent and the Barka salad delicious. Drinks are great too. The ambience is very nice. We’ve been a few times and it does. It disappoint!
Food was too salty foe my taste , otherwise it’s a nice restaurant
We are regulars here and the food is still good but the portions have changed. Service needs to improve as it’s hit or miss never consistent. We will still frequent here though
We spent Mother’s Day having dinner and it was wonderful ! I’ll definitely be back
Excellent management and service despite being crowded for Mother’s Day. Great food and drinks, and portions weren’t too huge either. Just enough!
Love Barka! Great light food but back room was not as nice for Mothers Day.
Great night! Had to wait about 15 minutes for our reservation, but as it was Mother’s Day weekend with COVID restrictions I think it was to be expected that there might be a slight wait. It was very loud when we got there as there were a few larger parties. However, once they left it was a perfect noise level. I think on a normal weekend it would be great. Even with how busy they were our food was excellent! The only suggestion I would make is that the bread be warmed before being brought to the table. It was very good bread but it was cold, like right out of the fridge cold.
Food is terrific and pricey. recommend veal chop parmesian.
Restaurant was packed with people. Very loud crowd.
We made our reservation for a Saturday evening pre-Mother’s Day celebration. Although I’ve been to Barka many times, this experience was unlike all others. The parking lot was packed, which was shocking and the restaurant was at full capacity, no social distancing at all or even an attempt to do so, with the bar completely full. It seemed there was a small party in a private room and the back room was stacked with people elbow to elbow for what looked as though it was another larger private party. The back of the restaurant as we walked from our car had empty boxes and trash strewn about with a small table holding two empty beers and a drink. Such a terrible impression for guests.
The hostess was very nice and seated all of the waiting parties as quickly as she could. No social distancing in the reception area either!!! The ladies room was trashed, there was toilet tissue all over the floor inside and outside the stalls, sinks were dirty and the trash was overflowing. There had not be attention given to the restroom at all and it showed.
Dinner??? Let’s just say it was as though we were not valued customers, our server was absent. Drinks never refreshed, bread not refreshed when asked and no sweetener offered for iced tea or coffee-went without it for the iced tea, had to ask for the coffee. The food was mediocre at best, barely warm and overall tasteless with the exception of the baby artichokes which were good-not great, served without a smile or an “enjoy”. The plates dropped in front of us like a bad diner. The mussels were of poor quality and the white sauce looked like dish water with no taste.
I could go on and on but I will leave with two final comments.... for a sever to drop the check back to me with my credit card and never thank us, is rude and unkind. After dining at Capital Grille last week and paying just a few dollars more, it’s Capital Grille over Barka every day. We will not be back.
Just too noisy for us. A bit high-priced too, but we enjoyed the experience
The restaurant was very loud and had a hard time holding a conversation.
The food was good but very expensive.
The service was OK but not exceptional for the cost.
Everything was delicious and the environment was great as well!
Everything was amazing, a little blurb with the dessert service and a little too loud. Couldn't hear people at my table as the table next to us was quite large and too close to a table of two trying to talk to each other.
The staff was professional, pleasant and attentive. The flaming cheese was wonderful. There was a lovely selection of dishes, the amounts were plentiful and tasty.
Excellent experience. Everyone in my group raved about their meals from appetizers to desserts. The grilled octopus and fried calamari were table hits. Our filet mignon steaks were deliciously seasoned and cooked to perfection. The mushroom risotto was outstanding. The staff was just the right amount of attentive and the restaurant ambiance was artsy yet warm. We will definitely be back!
We had a wonderful dinner at Barka on Saturday night. We were greeted warmly upon arrival and seated promptly in a spacious, comfortable booth. The upscale contemporary interior is beautiful and the service is friendly and professional. The menu includes a great selection of fresh seafood - which we always order. The dishes are well prepared, well presented and delicious. It is a bit pricey but the the prices are justified by the quality of the ingredients. The only downside about dinning here is the high noise level
I took a chance on this place because the reviews I read were great. The food was outstanding and the restaurant was beautiful. The only issue was the temp of the restaurant very hot- but the staff fixed it once we spoke up. Overall, loved it, on my list of places I will be coming back too!
Food is delicious, wait staff incredible, wine list the best...our new favorite place.
This was our first time but I think we will be back. Professional, expedient, efficient service definitely a highlight. The food was excellent! No pics since I shoveled everything into my face before thinking of taking one :/
Fabulous!! Will be foj
As usual the food and service were very good. However the noise level in the back room was beyond the point of acceptable. We were a group of four and we were literally screaming in order to hear each other. We have been to the restaurant many times and been seated in the front of the restaurant no knowing how bad the acoustics were in the back. Keep in mind the room wasn't filled to capacity, so I can only imagine the noise level with a full house.
Food was excellent, service was impeccable!
Food & Service was wonderful. We just noticed a few customers walking around without a mask. Kept walking back and forth, It was a little disturbing. I know it is difficult to control but it is still upsetting to see. Why people are still not able to follow a basic rule is ridiculous at this point in time. We will definitely come back. It is just too good to stay away. Aside from the delicious food we Love the way they cater to you and make you feel special.
Horrible experience. My sister found a beetle in her spinach which was cooked and soaked in the sauce. When we showed the manager, his response was, “it happens”. He was so unapologetic and unfazed by the event. For a higher end restaurant where the average entree cost is $35-$40, beetles in the food just “happen”? I understand where spinach comes from, and had the manager shown a little more shock and demonstrated basic customer service skills, the whole experience might not have been so awful.
This place is amazing! Atmosphere is cozy and modern. Food was outstanding especially the grilled octopus, burrata mozzarella and the seared Lobster. Looking forward to our next dinner there to try out more of the menu!
Great service. Too loud
Food is always good and on point.
Only disappointment was that they are not observing social distancing requirements. No tables have been removed due to Covid and they are not six fee apart.
Service was very good. All courses were excellent
Beautiful space. Wait staff was very attentive. Food was delicious. The octopus appetizer was fork tender and very tasty.
Great food, great experience, wonderful staff. Would highly recommend.
Great place with a beautiful interior & a fantastic menu with an emphasis on seafood & high quality meats. There are several rooms to dine in - we prefer the rounded booths in the middle of the restaurant - cozy & romantic!
Bread is served with olives & hummus - yum! All the food we have had here has been exceptional: seafood tower, crap app, oysters, grilled lobster, mushroom risotto, paella, veal chop, & bronzino. Love how the vegetables came grilled! For dessert you must get the baklava - simply amazing! Coffee is freshly made & I enjoyed a grappa with my espresso.
The bar area has a separate menu with less expensive & more casual food including pizza! Would definitely go back. This is a great place!!!
Food before the pandemic was better. We came back for the first time tonight since the pandemic. The food was bland and definitely not the way it used to be. Overall experience still great though.
10/10 steaks are always cooked to perfection here -- I've done a private party and over 25+ dinner reservations here -- always perfect. Fish/lobster never overcooked, seasoned & prepared with love -- staff is fun/energetic & always will accommodate any requests!
Great place! Definitely coming back
We have dined at Barka many times but this was the first post covid visit. It was even better than I remembered! Food was outstanding, service terrific. Tables are distanced nicely and we felt very comfortable. We had an excellent dining experience. Standouts as always were the octopus, zucchini chips, hummus, whole branzino and lobster Newburgh. Can’t wait to return soon!!
Service was horrific. Waiter took forever to come over and disappeared for most of the night. Place only had 5 active tables. Had a bad attitude also. We were in side room and curtains were drawn shut. Sunny outside and asked if he could open curtains. Nastily opened like 1 foot and that’s it. Not going back. Food was good, not worth the experience.
Everything was fantastic
I had a John Dory for the first time and it is now my favorite fish
The service was terrific
The only real negative to the night was the fact the restaurant was fairly crowded and as a result very loud. Difficult to carry on conversations.
Service were excellent. Food was but cheap but the quality and portion size make the value excellent.
Would definitely go back next time I'm in the area
