Excellent food. Chilean sea bass was great. Interesting salads. Very nice ambiance. Highly recommend.
We were a party of 8 and fairly loud so we had no issue with the noise level. In addition, our waiter and the service in general was really good. The food disappointed us. The appetizers were very average. We ordered Bluepoint oysters and at $3.50 ea. should have received large, full oysters. These were small and not meaty as Bluepoints should be. The shrimp and avocado had such a limited amount of shrimp.
For the entrees, someone order a steak, it was disgusting. Like not even edible. We sent it back and he ordered the penne bolognese which was also not good. And we shouldn’t have been charged for this. Three people ordered halibut but we were told 5 minutes later that you were out. Someone ordered the tuna entree that came fried. It should say that on the menu. I ordered the Branzini, it was small and darkish meat and didn’t taste too good. Overall a poor food experience which I think you knew because you gave us some free desserts; which, while very much appreciated, didn’t do much as they weren’t good either.
Sorry for the poor review; I had been here 4 previous times and had no issues and enjoyed my meal each of those times.
Really great Happy Hour. Includes $14 Lamb Chops and Filet Mignons, and half price cocktails!
There was a screaming child seated next to us, whom neither the parents nor the manager tried to quiet.
Also, ordered a shrimp& avocado appetizer which was priced in high teens and it had exactly 4 pieces of shrimp!
Service and food were fabulous
Dinner at Barka was perfect, as always. Thank you!
Excellent food and service.
First time at this Restaurant and it was fantastic! Great wine list, we had Calamari appetizer(big enough for 3-4to share) Lobster Ravioli, and Seared Tuna. All were excellent. Our Waiter Arban was polite and efficient.
Very good and would return. Soft shell crabs were tasty!
A wonderful experience. Our first time was excellent. The service, the food and the atmosphere were phenomenal. The staff was very detail oriented and accommodating to our requests. They made us feel as if we were the only ones there.
Celebrated our 25th year anniversary last Wednesday. Great eats, good service and affordable.
Wonderful food and service. This is our second time dining at Barka and we were so happy to have the chance to return. We enjoyed every course - from cold seafood tower and tender octopus for appetizers to the branzino main course. Portions were very generous so we didn’t make it to dessert. Thank you for making this such a memorable meal for our group. It was the perfect way to celebrate my dad’s 97th birthday.
The food was homemade and fresh. Prices are reasonable and the service was great. Will definitely be back.
My husband took me out to dinner for my birthday and overall we were completely disappointed. We arrived and ordered 2 appetizers, one of which was a cheese board, when it came out there was no explanation as to what was on the plate so we proceeded hoping the service would get better. I ordered lamb chops which were just ok, no flavor (I think they even forgot the salt) and the spinach that accompanied it did not taste fresh. My husband ordered the ribeye, the steak came out still cooking on a plate with oil splattered all over it which once put on the table was splattering on my husband shirt. He couldn’t even touch the plate and the waiter was no where to be found. Finally, after 10 min I asked if they could bring the steak on another dish because the dish was still 500 degrees. The waiter bought a plate and didn’t remove the steak instead he said to my husband “be careful it’s hot”????? When he cut into the steak it was like leather, he ordered it medium but it had been cooking at our table for an additional 10 min so it was over cooked and so dry. We gave it back to the waiter explaining it was ordered medium and it was dry and had no taste to it. The manager proceeded to come over and tried to explain that the steak is served “sizzling” completely ignoring that fact that the steak is over cooked, dry and the plate it came on was dirty with oil and it looked like leather. Definitely not a $44 steak! He was not accommodating at all and didn’t even say he was taking it off the check, they did when we received the bill but we couldn’t wait to get out of there. I also forgot to mention that it felt like the air conditioner wasn’t on in the restaurant. Not worth the money - there are a ton of other great restaurants in the area.
Barka is very nice with an extensive menu.
They continue to improve, excellent meal!
Good experience and great food. Will definitely go back soon
Nick the MGR always brings his A game....awesome
My wife and I had a nice dinner at Barka. The service was excellent and the food was very good. I loved the lobster ravioli and my wife liked the diver scallops, but she didn't care for the asparagus risotto it came with. Our only complaint is that the value for the money was just ok, not amazing. There are many restaurants in the area where you can get great food at a more reasonable price. With that said, we will keep Barka on the list for an occasional dinner in the future.
Really great this time!!
Everything was great, including the fact they acknowledged my request to be seated in a quieter area. It was not crowded so noise was not an issue. The last time we were there it was packed and the noise level was high. I do think it’s a bit pricey.
Overall our experience was wonderful, with the only exception that our waiter seemed to lose interest in serving us about half way through the meal. The restaurant was mostly empty that night, so it was not because he was attending too many other tables. Other staff brought our food, followed up on requests, and checked on us. We had to flag down our waiter for the check.
Started our evening with the shrimp and avocado appetizer special that was fresh, flavorful, and delicious. The diver scallops with crab topped risotto, along with the halibut entree special followed suit with the appetizer providing the same freshness and quality for our dinner. We ended the wonderful evening sharing the baklava with perfectly frothed decaf cappuccinos. Service was attentive and professional. Will definitely return to Baklava sometime soon!
Birthday celebration and it was perfect from the drinks, to the food, and to the ambiance!
Lovely dinner of Chilean sea bass that was cooked perfectly over asparagus and butternut risotto. So yummy. Go. Being a thick walker but it’s worth it.
Service was good & were seated quickly, but food and ambiance was average. I had noted during reservation that I was celebrating my wife’s birthday, but no once followed up on that.
This is probably the third or fourth time that we have come to this restaurant. Whenever we feel there’s a special event this is where we go to. Their seafood is amazing actually everything that we’ve eaten there was incredible.
I love the large sofa tables - they are so romantic and intimate for a date. I had the Chilean sea bass and it was huge and absolutely incredible. The hummus and olive complimentary starter was delicious. Loved the limoncello martini too.
Very good service. They were busy tonight but very attentive. Spent time with us on menu and making thoughtful suggestions. I had a special appetizer that was to die for. It was a sesame crusted feta cheese that had been lightly fried. Served with a honey apricot sauce. Rest of our meal was also very good. Overall our portions were “just right”. With a $75 bottle of wine. One desert. Two apps and main courses. Plus tip we were at $235.
Food, service and atmosphere were good but not worth the high cost
Food and service was excellent. Will definitely be back!
Great food and atmosphere
Third time dining at Barka. Food consistently over salted and I like salty food.
I went to Barka for the first time this week with two girlfriends to celebrate my birthday. It was a Monday evening and we were the only people in the restaurant. We were seated promptly. Our reservation was during their evening happy hour and one of my friends asked about getting a drink at the special happy hour price and the waiter told us that the only way to get the special deals on drinks was to sit at the bar. We thought that was odd. Then I asked about getting a salad with a piece of fish on top and was basically told I had to order something from the menu. We thought that was odd as well. The food arrived in a reasonable amount of time and was okay. The chopped salad I ordered was okay but it contained all sorts of veggies that were not listed on the menu and few of the items that were listed on the menu. The others thought their meals were good. The service was mediocre. We had to ask several times to have our water glasses refilled even though we were the only customers in the restaurant. Then we got the check. For three meals and the equivalent of three drinks the bill came to almost two hundred dollars (including a fifteen percent tip). If one were to dine here and order an appetizer, meal, dessert, coffee and a drink it would cost well over $100 a person. Definitely not worth the price. If you want to spend that kind of money on dinner, there are far better restaurants in the area. I definitely won’t be back nor will I recommend this place to anyone else.
Excellent service, incredible food! The grilled octopus is s MUST!! 10 stars!!
Burrata DELICIOUS! Grilled octopus BEST EVER!
There aren’t enough good words to describe the happiness of all four of us after eating at Barca! What a find. It was worth the 40 min drive!
Fantastic ambiance! Will definitely go back and request a booth next time.
Business lunch with customers. Very attentive & professional service. Excellent food. Lamb shank and scallops. Very good house wines.
They are the only place in the area that knows how to cook meat. I rank them at or above Char (Red Bank) when it comes to rib eyes and bone-in steaks. Ruth Chris is a yawn. Sea food is always fresh, and service is impeccable.
