Overall good experience. The food was a bit pricy for what you get but it's for a good cause. Server was excellent but I felt the hostess was rude.

A great night out! The food was great - a fry board! Who would have thought? And I love being able to support their mission. I can't wait to go back and try the s'mores board!!! Our waitress was great too!

Food is bad. I love this place for what they do for animals, infact I even adopted a pet from them. But time and time again we come to eat, and each time it's just disappointing. Last night there was a big concert, so they turned us away for a walk in (understandable) and said we needed to make a reservation and the only openings were in an hour. So we left, hopped on to their reservation site, and made the next available reservation for 15 minutes away. When we got there and showed them our reservation, the girl at the front got all weird and told us she'd "need to speak to her manager". We waited 15 minutes after that to be seated. Not once did anyone say sorry for the wait, really just made us feel like we were inconvenienceing them somehow with our reservation we were told to make. Ordered the waffle chicken burger, which was terrible. Breading was burnt on the outside and gooey on the inside. It's actually kind of astounding how absolutely flavorless the burger was. Masking was loose at best, I saw the woman working behind the bar without her mask the entire 15 minutes we waited to be seated. Almost no customers wore their masks when leaving their tables. And I saw a few people who'd been incredibly over served, one woman practically fell into our table on the way to hers. The woman at the front told us to call in the future to make a reservation, but I've called them before probably 10 different times trying to make a reservation and they've never answered their phone. Most, if not all of this would be forgiven if the food was good, but it just sucks every time. In the past I've ordered the Jamison clams, the veggie burger, the enchiladas, it's all been awful. The veggie burger was the worst of them all. The only thing that was slightly good was the clams but even they weren't great.

They allow your dogs to come eat with you on the outdoor patio. Their food is amazing! Waffle board was top notch. Have a cute pet store inside.

The wait staff was wonderful from the hostess to the waitress. The music (rap/ hip hop) was so loud we couldn't have a conversation. I know Bark caters to the 30 and under crowd but don't discount older people who like to support causes too. It was turned down when we asked though so that was appreciated. One in our party had the french toast which was very good. Two of us had the smoked salmon benedict. The salmon amount was very skimpy, the sauce was over lemony and tasted 'tinny'. It was very overpowering and hard to enjoy the meal. We all had the hash browns which were um....McDonald's like. Not a fan. I would like to try lunch sometime but sure won't do brunch again.

The food was very good and the server outstanding. We ordered a basic menu item and after a few minutes server came out to tell us they didn't have any English muffins but were expecting some in an hour or so. We were one of the first customers of the morning so the outage must have occurred during the prior night. We ended up choosing another menu item that was not our first choice. I realize restaurants run out of food but this is reason for not outstanding overall rating.

The food and service at Bark was great. Best fried pickles anywhere! Unfortunately the wait was long even though many tables were open. Staffing is an issue for many restaurants so I’m hopeful this is something they will resolve in time.

We arrived early to visit the shelter animals as this was the main incentive for visiting the restaurant. We were told that only people with reservations could see the animals, which was very disappointing for our son. A note s/b added to the website stating that appts are required to visit the animals as this is misleading.

We sat in the bar area and ordered dinner. The bar tender waited on us but only checked back with us one time. We ran out of water and cocktails before finishing our dinner. The food was outstanding. I had the grilled shrimp and noodle dinner and hubby had the fried pickle burger. It was a Wednesday night and wasn't very crowded so didn't know why the service was not better.

Didn't actually dine here, so I can't say anything about the food (only rated it so I could leave a review). Had a 730 reservation and checked in at 720 to wait. At 740 we asked how much longer the wait would be and were told it would be around 30 minutes or more. The restaurant couldn't have been at more than 33% capacity. We should have been told up-front that the wait was going to be so long so we didn't waste our time waiting. Very disrespectful.

BARK, A Rescue Pub
Responded on August 27, 2021

Hello - sounds like this was totally an error on our fault and we apologize. You had a reservation and we didn't get you sat in a reasonable time. Regarding capacity, we are a big restaurant (able to seat over 250 inside and out). We have about 1/3 the staff we need to operate at more capacity. We will get there and hope you will consider dining with us some day.

We love to eat at Bark for several reasons. First we want to support the cause this restaurant supports. Second the staff are all so very friendly, helpful, excellent service. The restaurant is always clean including the restroom. We don't go downtown very often but try to time it so we can eat there. Thank you to Josh for his wonderful idea. I knew Josh when he was in high school and am very proud of what he has accomplished.

We sat outside and really enjoyed our brunch! We tried the biscuits and gravy, which were good, but the pulled pork hash was OUTSTANDING and enough for two meals. The kid’s meal was plenty of food for our hungry 6-year-old, and the mimosa flight was perfect. Our server was very friendly and took time to explain options and dishes. We will definitely be back!

Food was mediocre. Far too much pickle on the burger and the amount of pickle juice made the bun soggy. The tang of the brine over powered the whole taste of it. Service was terrible. We were excited because it was inlander restaurant week but that dissipated quickly as our waiter forgot about us. When we finally got him to acknowledge that we were still there dessert was finally brought out. We were already 1 1/2hrs into dinner service. There was also a mistake with the tab. We paid, then had to pay more because he forgot to ring in our desserts. A complete debacle.

Stephanie, thanks for visiting during restaurant week. Sorry your experience was not to the level that the majority of guests received this weekend. Reading through the reviews here and on Google we are thrilled with how things went including specific mentions of the Carolina BBQ Burger. We hope to serve you again soon so you can try the many items on our lunch/dinner and brunch menus.
