Food was good, a little overpriced. We had a split check. Owner was not coming out to help waitress. Took 45 minutes for her to get a key to process our check. Debit card was mistakenly overcharged. Owner was yelling at waitress. We were on a girls night and had reserved a movie, we made it half way in. Owner tried to make a conversation asking what movie we were watching. He never apologized and kept on acting like it was all the waitresses fault. He was a complete jerk. Didn’t seem to care about us telling him we had to go. Waitress ended up saying that she was going to just pay the tab. He just shrug and tried to give us the cash back. We informed him that is not what we wanted, he kept on acting like he had nothing to do with it. We left the cash and she had already charged all the other cards and he still said that we had a “pending balance”. Will never come to this place again. Owner was not professional and did not know how to deal with the situation. He was rude to his employees and was not respectful of our business. All staff was tense and seemed to be overwhelmed with everything going around. The team is not supportive of each other. One of the worst experiences. Do not recommend!!!

Dined with a party of 5; everyone was happy with their choices. Menu has a nice mix of meat/seafood choices with a few vegetarian choices; chef will gladly accommodate any requests for modifications. Service is attentive and friendly. Great bar/cocktail program/wine list. Highly recommended.

We made a reservation on open table for Valentines Day. When we got their, there were 4 couples in front of us and one came in behind us. The place was packed and we were all standing in the middle of the restaurant. Nobody acknowledged our presence and it seemed like there wasn’t a hostess. My wife even approached staff behind the bar to no avail. It appeared that everyone had reservations and the people in front of us had 7:30 reservations. When a staff member finally arrived, she mention that there were tables in the back that would be cleaned. I looked and saw two tables. With 5 parties waiting to be seated, it was clear at that point that we were not going to be seated anytime soon. I walked down the Street to Davinci’s and even though it was packed, I was greeted right away. Within a few minutes my wife and I were seated and had a lovely meal. We dropped some serious cash on some French champagne, well worth it. I decided that I would give Bari a second chance after the poor experience I had taking my mother there for her birthday. This restaurant features that beautiful wood bar from a long gone restaurant called Jonathan’s. It’s the prettiest bar in Salem. The food was pretty good that night I took my mom. The service however was terrible, very disorganized with very long waits between drinks, apps, main course. I figured they were new. Flash forward a year later and nothings changed. They clearly overbooked themselves and had no clue how to deal with it. I don’t know who’s running that place, but they could take lesson from the owner of Davinci’s who greeted me right away and delivered.

It is a maybe on recommendation if the service was there. Made reservations days in advance and left after 2.25 hours later with not even getting our dinner. Got the bill for the two drinks they charged me and didn’t even try to comp them for the bad service. Kinda disappointed.

As always, Bruce & his staff do an exceptional job. From start to finish it is a top notch dining experience. We only wish we could patronize more. However, anytime we have a special occasion, you will find us at Bari. Bravo 👏🏾

We waited for 17 minutes before anyone came to ask us for our order. And another 21 minutes before we received food. The iced tea tasted like it was brewed in a coffee pot. Food was decent, people were nice and ambiance was nice.

The food was good but not great. I had the veal and it was very good but it just sat on fingerling potatoes so very dry and no other vegetables or sauce. My wife had chicken piccata and it was dry. We make better at home. But her veggies were good. The best thing we had was the side salad, not a lot going on but the horseradish dressing was fantastic they should sell it.

We had never been to Baris before, but based on reviews online we thought we would try it. We made a reservation online as we were visiting from out of town. When we arrived there were three other tables occupied. There was a family of 3 already eating, a group of 6 having drinks only, one other couple, and 2 or 3 people at the bar. There was another room that had a larger group of 6 or 8 at one table. My point being, they were not busy and most of the other customers were already eating, or not eating at all. The first thing our server asked us was if we were celebrating an occasion. We let her know it was our anniversary that weekend. We ordered a $55 bottle of wine and a seafood appetizer. So far, so good. The wine came quickly enough, but we waited 40 minutes for the appetizer that should have taken 10 minutes to prepare and was overcooked and lukewarm (calamari and prawns wrapped in pancetta on wooden skewers). Our server came back once to tell us the appetizer would be out soon. By this time we were sitting in a nearly empty restaurant as the other 3 tables had left. When we finally did get the appetizer we asked her to cork the wine and bring us the check. We were polite and didn't complain, which may have been why she didn't offer any apology for the wait, or showed any interest in why we didn't want to order dinner nearly an hour after we were seated. By then it was 8 o'clock, but we were able to go to a nearby restaurant that we had enjoyed in the past. and had a great meal with excellent service. Not the best way to treat a couple celebrating their anniversary, or for that matter, anyone else.

Nice place. Menu feels too ambitious. Too many specials, and as a result my seared tuna was not seared, but cooked to death, and my husband's duck breast was undercooked, and didn't have crispy skin. Our friends have lamb, done perfectly, we also liked carpaccio and bone marrow. Nice wine list.

This is my second time at Bari's and it was as wonderful as the first! First time was with the hubby; this time with girlfriends. Salad with horseradish dressing was delicious. Bread was too good...we could have made a meal out of the fabulous bread and salad. The lamb was (once again) beyond delicious. It was tender and full of flavor and accompanied by roasted root veggies. We all shared a tiramisu for dessert; it is something to look forward to, so leave some room! Wait staff is friendly and considerate and they make sure you have a good experience at the restaurant. Thank you once again Bari's for a wonderful meal....see you soon!

Chanced upon this "hole in the wall" bar and restaurant almost right next door to the Elsinore Theatre. We dined a little early because we had tickets to the theater, so it was not crowded in the restaurant area, although the bar area was already quite lively. The waitress was personable and helpful, the food options were limited, but they all looked great on the menu, so I had a hard time deciding while my significant other knew what she wanted from the minute she saw the online menu. The wine list has some notable and local wines to offer. The food was excellent, the presentation was lovely. The owner, Bruce, came out to the dining room area to say hello, and also to fistbump my SO since she had the split marrow luge. Seriously, try this! We will be back for seconds.

Food was decent, we had the filet, which was okay. Also had rabbit stew which i would not recommend. For the prices they charge, they need to work on presentation of food.We made a reservation, It was freezing in the building and they sat us right next to the door. They did let us move to a different table after we asked. Service was not great, we had to ask repeatedly for things like silverware and napkins. The worst part of this place is that they put the tables so close together that it feels like you are sharing a table with the people at the next table. If the people next to you want to get up you will have to get up and move out of the way.

Salem's best kept secret! We were looking for a "different" place to celebrate my husband's birthday. We came across Bari's on line, and neither of us had even heard of it! The food was absolutely wonderful, wait staff was great and the tiramisu was to die for. We would go back in a heartbeat.

Food and service was excellent. We even tried the bone marrow, which the men loved and the women tasted. The noise level in the dining room was very high. Maybe some ceiling tiles would help. Overall a very nice dinner.

Lovely staff, craft cocktails, and beautiful cuisine! The owner Bruce is a long time Salem staple at other restaurants and is doing amazing with his own digs. What a beautiful bar space! Perfect for dates or casual dining. The cocktails are perfection and the wine list is on point. Everything we had for dinner was delicious. My favorite was the beef carpaccio! 100% recommend on all levels. Bruce will treat you like family and it will quickly become a staple for going out~

Such an interesting menu... it has great energy and is rather creative. Think they need to simplify and concentrate on building a solid foundation while perfecting the interesting creative dishes, one dish at a time. And take time to train waitstaff. We had a nice night...
