Bari Ratings and Reviews
Salads and pastas amazing. Wish we had more of it. Halibut savory and light all at the same time. Leigh, our server, was as much personable and friendly as she was knowledgeable about the menu. We had never been before, asked for suggestions from wine to dessert and she took care of us from start to finish!
We had an amazing experience. The cocktail menu did not have a previous cocktail that I had previously, but the bartender had all the ingredients and made the cocktail for me. I thought that was a nice touch. Food and service were excellent! All around good experience for our first time dinning in and not just visiting for drinks.
Had a great experience at Bari. Everything from the food, the music, the service were exceptional. Bobby mentioned he’s worked there for nearly three years and it showed. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the intimidating menu and his service was on point the entire evening.
Bari is our very favorite restaurant in Memphis. Our palettes are always thrilled. Jason is an enlightened chef. Rebecca is a lovely and welcoming hostess. We are never disappointed. We spent a wonderful New Year's Eve in a delightful setting with marvelous food.
I was very disappointed by Bari. I went to Bari in hopes that my husband would have a special birthday dinner, unfortunately I was wrong. Our ghost waiter was rude and rarely came by. The best part of this restaurant is the cheese and wine menu. I noted this was a special Birthday dinner and nothing came of it. We will not be back! Should have gone to Catherine and Mary’s.
Started out early at the bar. Small and cute but the service could be so much better. Waited almost 20 minutes to final have our drink order taken. Checked in at the stand 40 minutes before our reservation and told them that they could get us early if our table was open. At our reservation time, went back up to remind them and they said, “Oh yes, your table is ready.” Restaurant was already half empty and I noted at least 10 guests that they turned away while we were at the bar, citing a full evening. Our waitress was lovely and very attentive.....sorry, I can’t remember her name. Food was good but not great. I certainly would suggest you give it a try, as our night may have been off, but there are lots of places to try in Memphis so I am not sure I would be back quickly.
We go to Bari just once or twice each year. It is always great. The service is quite good. And the food is excellent -- but you have to order for your tastes. Bari has a very comfortable atmosphere. We took 2 1/2 hours for dinner with friends -- and enjoyed every minute. The check at the end of the meal is not for the those who have timid credit cards.
My wife and I love great food and service and are fairly discerning. We have dined all over the world and specifically at Bari well over 14 times. Bari never ceases to please. Menu items have been served there consistently for years. The wait staff has low turnover ensuring good and reliable service. The fish and seafood (i.e. tuna or scallops) are particularly delicious after a cheese plate appetizer (have the wait person select 2, 3, or 4 sample cheeses). A pasta selection or two should not be missed. Wines are fairly priced and delicious as well.
Bari was a very relaxing and fitting atmosphere for our 2nd anniversary dinner. I had a filet on special and it may have been the best steak I have ever eaten. Absolutely amazing. The soup was made of potato and carrots without cream, and I couldn't believe it because it was seasoned and pureed in such a way that it was so rich and delicious and ...creamy. I would highly recommend it for special occasions.
One of my ABSOLUTE favorite restaurants in Memphis! My parents came for a visit, so that was the excuse for this visit, but I will eat here anytime for any reason. The food is fantastic, delicately flavored and super fresh and tasty. Their wine list is extensive, but even better is the cheese list; ask your server for their favorites and try 3-4 at the end of your meal instead of a sweet dessert.
We enjoyed being there but the food was not good. The fish was not as fresh as it should be
The service was great and I think we might have caught it on a bad night. That’s why I think I would recommend, with reservations, because I hope it would be better
It was a night that I enjoyed everything but the food
the menu looked interesting and the service was quick and fairly attentive. there were very few people in there and when we got the bill we understood why. It was around $420 for 4 people. I checked the bill and it was correct - we had spent that money in there......so if you want to to pay that sort of money go ahead. the chef cooks good food - But - value for money? mais non!
I went here with my girlfriend for our second anniversary last week, and wow. This was one of the greatest restaurants I've been to in a while. The food was absolutely incredible, the waiter was attentive and very knowledgeable about the menu, and the atmosphere was absolutely perfect.
Bari never fails to deliver. My wife and I live 90 minutes away and when we come to Memphis for anything, we make it a point to eat at Bari every single time. We've tried restaurants across Memphis from top to bottom and this one delivers an outstanding experience every single time... so we don't bother revisiting the fancy places we've hit before or even trying new ones: Bari never lets us down.
Bari is always a great choice. The food is always excellent, and the owners make a point of using a lot of fresh local ingredients and sticking to healthy ingredients. Unlike most restaurants in Memphis, you know what you are getting here. Healthy oils (olive oil), good quality ingredients, a focus on keeping the food simple and elegant, and consistency. The wine list is excellent, and the cheese menu is easily the best and most extensive in the city. The atmosphere on the weekends is great: it's busy and the bar is hopping, but there is no loud background music thankfully. That's the worst mistake most restaurants make. When you go to Bari, even when it's packed, you will experience a relaxed atmosphere that's rare not only for Memphis but also for the surrounding area (Overton). Thanks as always for creating such a wonderful space in Memphis! Also try the upstairs bar. Really unique, and Vince makes EXCELLENT cocktails. He always has great recommendations, and my friends usually end up branching out and trying something new. Recommended.
I really enjoy going to Bari. The food is always great and healthier than other restaurants and has the right portion. I love their seafood dishes and antipasto. The prosciutto di Parma is liked being in Italy.
They have a wonderful assortment of Italian cheeses and wine selection.
Most importantly the service is always outstanding.
The calamari dish needed to have more calamari and less spelt, less sardines. Plus one of the fish I bit into had bones. It was disgusting.
The steak loin was also terrible. No flavor. Never before have we wanted to put salt on a steak like we did that night. Had the food been excellent, then the value would have been worth it.
