Great night out. The food and service were amazing. The appetizers (cheese, olives and burrata with arugula), soup (portabella and roasted pepper), pastas (rigatoni with rapini and goat cheese, vegetarian spaghetti a la carbonara) and roasted potatoes (eaten the next day)were incredible. The desserts were delicious. Service excellent. And I always love the quiet ambience of this elegant little gem.
The service was one of the best I’ve ever had (no joke). It’s not very often that you leave the place thinking “I’d like to hangout with that dude sometime”. His name was Hunter Coleman. The food, ambience, and experience was perfect for what my wife and I were looking for, and Hunter played a huge part in creating that for us (great recommendations on food, wine, and a great sense of humor).
Dinner was perfect! A Memphis favorite for a reason- Bari has been perfect every time I’ve gone. The food, service, and ambiance are always fantastic. I’ve never ordered a dish I didn’t like, but the Orzo is definitely a personal favorite.
Wife and I celebrated our 13th wedding anniversary amidst COVID. Thanks to Bari for being open so we could celebrate our special day!
Everything was excellent at Bari as always. Our server Brandon was the peak of professionalism while also making us feel absolutely at ease. He suggested a bottle of Chardonnay from Puglia that my partner and I thought was an excellent pairing with all of our courses, even his strip loin.
We started with the zucchini and goat cheese fritters, which were perfectly fried on the outside while still luscious in the middle. The romaine salad and carbonara were excellent together, and my whole Bronzino entree stuffed with fennel and oranges couldn’t have been better. I meant to take half of it home, but it was so good I ate the entire fish in one sitting! My partner’s strip loin was exactly to the med rare he ordered, and the garlic rapini was just the right size to leave us satisfied with room for dessert—chocolate cake made in-house topped with sweet cream and Luxardo cherries.
I was incredibly impressed with the service in regards to Covid-19. All staff members were wearing masks correctly, and it was noticeable that they changed gloves/washed their hands between touching anything at our table and moving to another task. They were polite yet firm with us and other guests about enforcing their safety policies. Extremely professional and we felt incredibly safe dining out on a Saturday night at Bari.
Delicious as usual. My go to spot. Great food, well-crafted cocktails, and a stellar wine list.
Great service; awesome cocktails, cool venue; really good innovative food! Feels like Manhattan!
Bari is a true local gem! Lovely place! My wife and I love delicious food. Bari is a perennial favorite!
Truly enjoyable experience; will be returning soon.
Bari is a delight in every way. Fantastic fresh and perfectly prepared. Delicious! Thank you!
Excellent meal and excellent service. They have the best prosciutto I’ve had in the city by far and the preparations are spot on.
Great experience. The food is very good. Bari is always a great choice.
The halibut was delicious and not fishy tasting. Loved the citrus on top. The sausage ragu pasta was so yummy!
We were the only table in this COVID 19 Pandemic. But we received outstanding service from the waiter and the entire staff. Food was excellent as always.
What a fantastic experience. Every bite of everything we tried was delicious. Service was excellent. What a treat!
A European style Italian restaurant. The food, wine and cheese is all excellent, as is the service. Great for a relaxing, multi-course meal, though if you're looking for the usual American style Italian restaurant with large standard pasta dishes, you should look elsewhere.
The servers are attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. The bartender might even strike up a casual conversation with you. The wine menu by the glass has shrunk in recent years, but is still hard to beat in the area. You'll pay roughly the same price for a glass here as elsewhere, and you get a nice Italian wine (all wines are from Italy) rather than standard American bar fare. Cocktails are also a good option. Food comes in a multi-course format. You don't need to order an appetizer, antipasta/soup/salad, pasta dish, main course, vegetable side and dessert, but sizes are small enough that you can manage multiple courses. The pasta is al dente, a rarity, and the main courses are nearly all seafood and fish, though there is a steak option and rotating specials. There is also an extensive cheese and charcuterie menu.
The restaurant consists of a bar area for those only wanting light food and drinks, which is open during CoVid but requires a reservation, as does the main restaurant area, which is a small room with 6 or so tables placed far apart. The ambiance is very good, and the room quiet. At times there is some background music played, but the volume is kept very low. The restaurant has tinted glass windows, which only allow you to see outside not inside. The one drawback is the price, as all those little courses add up, but well worth it for a special occasion or drinks at the bar with a small snack.
Food was excellent as was the service. Comfortable atmosphere. Will most definitely return.
Food was delicious; service was impeccable; tables were appropriately spaced and all personnel were masked and gloved. A COVID-19 treasure
Felt safe dining here as this restaurant takes all the safety measures possible to protect its customers and staff. The patrons were distanced by how they mapped out the tables. So the nearest table was far away from us. They used disposable menus. They disinfected tables after customers left. The entire staff wore masks. Patrons were masks as they entered the restaurant. Waiters took the order further away from the table. The manager was on top of everything, monitoring to make sure rules were followed. And we appreciated that. We wanted to try going on a date for the first time in several months. But one of us being a vulnerable person, we had not found a place that was following such guidelines as Bari. We are so glad that we gave it a try. I had the sea bass and vegetables, we had the seasonal squash blossom and he had steak. Chocolate dessert. They are available for calling in orders as well as an option. The food was delicious. The service was amazing.
The cocktails we ordered were good, and our server was very attentive and polite. The food was terrible. 4 of the 5 dishes we ordered were bad. They weren't just not good, they were bad. Two of the dishes, the sardina alla graticola and the rapini saute were burnt. The sardines tasted like charcoal, and the garlic in the rapini was so burnt it wa inedible. The burratta we ordered was soured and the daily appetizer special fried squash blossoms was just a mound of half cooked tempura batter. We were really disappointed after reading a ton of great reviews for Bari. Not sure if there was a change in the kitchen or this is just a sign of covid problems, but I would not go back unless there was serious improvement in the quality of food they are putting out.
We enjoyed a wonderful dinner with excellent Cavi wine, terrific service and a great ambiance. Thank you so much!
Warm and friendly staff, go over and beyond to serve. Always excellent food! Comfortable, handsome restaurant.
Our waitress was personable, attentive & professional. Loved her wine recommendation. Food could not have been better. Appreciate all precautions restaurant took regarding virus.
Great restaurant. Great food.
This is a must visit. Everything is phenomenal. The food. The cheeses and wine. The service. The wine. Can't miss bari. We are making this a semi regular event. Get the carbonara! Simply put, there is no better Italian food in Memphis.
Bari was fantastic for our anniversary dinner! Huge variety of cheeses, creative apps, extensive wine list, and delicious pasta at very reasonable prices. We did not try the main dishes but they looked amazing as well. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was both exciting and inviting. We definitely plan to return!
Great food and good specials. Cheeses are amazing and service is great
Pasta was good.. SERVICE was horrible
The wait staff is always great. Very knowledgeable and helpful, especially with the specialty cheese menu. We had a great meal. Our friends had not been there before, but he’s got Italian blood so I’m sure he’ll be a regular
Timing of food was off, wait staff was great! Great cheese and meat selections were great but entrees were ok.
We had a fantastic meal. Our only regret is that we hadn’t tried it before now! Awesome service and delicious food! We will be back for sure!
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE Bari. The servers are incredibly knowledgable. The food is excellent. And the environment is so geared towards long dinners and great conversation :)
Great locally owned Italian restaurant. Cozy atmosphere. Delicious pasta dishes (I had the Orzo and my son the Bucatini). Great service! Many Italian wines and an extensive cheese selection.
Great food and service. We will be back!
Friends birthday celebration
Perfect night for catching up with a friend. It was cozy and the food was delicious.
So good as always. My favorite restaurant in Memphis.
Really well crafted, balanced food. Service was on point. Fantastic wine menu.
Having said that, I will not be returning for a second visit because the servings were quite modest despite a very full-sized price (read lack of value for money). Also, as a vegan for this level of dining/this price point I did not find them very accommodating. I asked if the chef could do a pasta primavera type thing with whatever veg they had on hand, a common approach used when the menu isn't very vegan friendly. The answer was no. Instead I could choose from the couple of menu options that were vegan plus two other that could be made vegan by omitting ingredient(s).
Staff was kind and courteous and knowledgeable owner came to our table and was very nice Not your normal Italian restaurant great seafood if you want spaghetti it’s the wrong place Also recommend getting dessert
Wonderful filet, spaghetti carbonara, cheeses and specialty drinks!
Always wonderful service too.
